A day late but thanks for opening and the tag @Nick

What do you do for fun?
Well until this past week when both the Steelers and the Rams lost...watching football...sigh....

What do you enjoy?
I enjoy reading but can't seem to find/make the time. Morning walks to watch the sun rise with my walking neighbor.

Do you collect something?
I actually don't my father was an antique dealer/collector/hoarder and so somehow that impacted my interest in collecting things the opposite of what feel it should. I do collect quotes/memes so that can send them to friends when it seems right to do so

Make something?
Alas no.... wish was creative

Play something?
No but on my bucket list is to learn how to play classical guitar...maybe when retire.

Go somewhere?
Oh how I wish...

Hope all are having a peaceful relaxing weekend!

@Nick awesome cafe idea, drew me in, I'm hoping there are no traps looming in the background.
I have so many hobbies it's ridiculous. Currently I'm working on a diamond painting 100cm by 70cm of Walt Disney and also knitting a sweater. I also make other craft items and have supplies to make cards, bead work, crochet.
Why are there only so many hours in the day, never enough to do all my craft ideas.
View attachment 42084
Oh that diamond painting looks nice. I know what you mean be not enough hours in the day to do all your ideas.

Tysm for tagging me @Nick & that's awesome about thinking of selling some of your cards! Once you start doing that if you end up having a store of some kind on etsy or wherever you plan to have it please feel free to send me the info on it & I'll buy some of them! :) Would def. be glad to support you, you've been such a nice friend :) Fun theme w/ hobbies too I love talking about things I love lol so here's my answers to them ;)

What do you do for fun?
Lots of things but esp. love reading, writing, laying with my cat, taking pix of my cat, taking pix of things in general (I don't take many only cos my cam takes such blurry/crappy pix lol), play games online and make things too (usually collages, sometimes digital and sometimes with actual paper, scissors, tape or glue lol).

What do you enjoy?
Above things, along with Star Wars of course :) Also watching some other movies and tv shows esp. comedies, dramas, mysteries, suspense or thrillers, looking at beautiful pix of things, nature, art, helping others, shopping, lots of things.

Do you collect something?
Star Wars things (esp. pix lol) also like stuffed animals, books, figurines and other cute kinds of things like that. My room is quite cluttered though so don't have room for much more of anything.

Make something?
Collages (digital and with actual paper), have put together a few scrapbook type books also, it's fun but a LOT of work lol.

Play something?
Yup, various games online, I play a connect the dots, word game and Candy Crush on facebook and sudoku, tetris, and mahjong on other sites.

Go somewhere?
If I could go anywhere in the world I wanted without monetary restrictions then this would still not be a very long list since the main place I care much about going is California lol. Would be cool to go to NYC too, mostly just to be able to say I've been there at least once, and also cos I've never seen the east coast of North America. Oh heck I guess I actually want to see ALL of the states for that matter, along with all the provinces here and various other countries. Anyway enough with the dreaming for now I guess lol. Where I actually go is not very many places at all but I enjoy when I can go to my sis's cos she lives in a big, 3 floor house and has 4 pets (3 cats and a dog) it's a nice place :) I go to my friends place a lot as well. And I enjoy reading and doing various other things in my room with all my Star Wars pix and other stuff too of course.
I will definately let you know when it's up and running. It will probably be at least a couple of months before I feel comfortable with the stock levels to open it, and I have to think of a good name for it so that will take me forever.

I play this game called Minion Rush. It is calming to me. In reality a rather dumb game, but I find it enjoyable. Online games can be such a nice way to unwind.

Thanks for the tag @Nick :)

What do I enjoy?
I guess music is my greatest pleasure, I always have music on at home but more than that I enjoy live music. I've soooo missed it the last year, had so many gigs cancelled. Hopefully this year 🤞🏻. I love cooking and gardening with mixed results. And of course my gorgeous pup.

Do I collect anything? Do shoes and handbags count? ;)

Do I make anything? I normally have a few crafty things on the go. I make 3D paper craft frames (not sure how to describe them?)
Recently I've been making lots of pom pom garlands in different colours for people.

Do I play something? I used to play the flute but haven't picked it up in years. I'd love to learn how to play the accordion.

Do I go somewhere? I absolutely love traveling and exploring different places. We had a sailboat in Greece for a few years and would spend a couple of months sailing every summer - it's probably my favourite place on earth so hopefully we'll be allowed to go again soon.
Shoes and handbags count for sure as things you collect. Nobody said a collection has to be stamps are trading cards.

Your crafty things are so creative. I don't have a fireplace so I garland would look pretty odd in my house lol.

I think I am going to head over to our local book store in teh mall this (a.m.)~ B&N -barnes & noble, they have a pretty full-service selection of things in there--including a Starbuck's cafe, with quite a few more things to choose from than your ordinary or typical coffee shop (lots of good tables to sit & write at as well). But! Last I checked. . . (which was before all of this shutdown occurred way back when); they still had a pretty epic / or decent supply of CD's, from a lot of different genre's in their (though the RECORDS were coming on strong!) ;)

Any~way: is there one metal cd that you might recommend I look for - that might actually be there in an American store; so it'd have to be not totally ... I dunno the right word? I was going to say "overly-foreign," but that's not waht I mean - & more precisely what i am looking for! :D Actually, the reason I ask ...& I know you'd recommended some - some time back, but I haven't the attention span to go looking at present! ;) (is that I'd really like a good sound in my car for driving): that can represent this style of music. : )

post script: no worries if it's too much trouble! :D _for i am no thing; if not a pain-in-the, :)

That sounds wonderful! My favourite bookstore also has a little café in it, I can literally spend the whole day there, lol. When this sh*t ends...

Not a problem at all ^^ I mean, if your stores only have American metal, I'm very sad for all of you, cause there's brilliant stuff outside of it too. :D Any decent metal selection should have at least some Amon Amarth or Children Of Bodom, they're commercially very successful bands, and any record is good. I love listening to them when driving. *yes4

hi nick! sorry i’m so late to the café but fortunately sunday ends in y also so here i am and thank you much for the tag.

Not much for questions today. I'm interested in what your hobbies are.
What do you do for fun? what may i ask is fun? What do you enjoy? is enjoyment a thing? Do you collect something? parking tickets. Make something? my way through the debris of life. Play something? playing happy when i’m not. Go somewhere? away.

No, seriously folks... What do you do for fun? i guess taking pictures of the new york city wildlife in the park near where i live is fun. and this is like the woolly bear caterpillar or the skunk or the butterlfly and the dandelion of course. there’s lots of nice fun things to see there. What do you enjoy? and i enjoy it too btw but i enjoy a good cup of coffee. i enjoy all kinds of music and art and suchi, and stilton, and pomegranates, and many unusual foods. Do you collect something? throughout my childhood i had many collections. looking at my space over here you’d think i like to collect medical supplies! Make something? making... making art, haven’t done that in a while but maybe again some day - though i do consider my writing which is fun and enjoyment and a collection of sorts very important in my life and happily i’ve been getting back into it more now that my writer’s block has finally gone. Play something? i have a really nice radio. Go somewhere? well when i shop its “going” and my nearly daily walks in the park is definitely the more fun “going”.

making cards sounds like a fun business Nick. i worked for a greeting card company when i was just starting out in graphics. but that company was very specialized in only one area. i think this could work out really well for you. if its been a hobby and you can make it a career, that’s great! i envy you....

as for what’s on my mind, there are a couple things or maybe 3+. i just got back into that intensive program i had to leave 2 years ago due to insurance. ironically my state of mind is much better now than when i was in it before! that’s because i’ve begun doing positive affirmations aka self brainwashing!

i believe many may tend to back away thinking brainwashing is generally a bad thing but i want to tell people that if it is done in a positive way, it is good. it does not turn you into a zombie. further, life in general is brainwashing. if you do the same task daily for years, you get brainwashed that way and if it is something very tedious or boring, you are brainwashing yourself into having a boring tedious life.. and as for self harm, well, in my life, i’ve done some pretty bad brainwashing in that respect too. so why not brainwash myself in the other direction? i cater my affirmations to the person i know i really am, not toward goals i do not necessarily know i can achieve. affirmations as i do it is of course only my take on it but it is working for me.

and in positive affirmations i create positive images in my mind as well of positive outcomes.

at the same time as the intensive program i was also introduced to an organization that is for survivors of childhood sexual abuse. not therapy but groups to help people overcome the effects of the abuse. i’ve only attended one group so far but i am hopeful that it will be helpful to me also. it is not restricted to my location so if there are people who are interested please tell me and i will post the site’s address.

and did i mention? my writers block has finally left so i seem to be writing more. so hoping everyone’s saturday was good and hoping 🌞day is good as well

Well, I just got back! . . : ) And let me say, walking through those doors was like, "Home~" ;) it now appears as though all sections have been condensed into one (w/cd's). I didn't see either of those two that you had mentioned, but I did see some more maybe mainstream American - I don't even know if they'd be classified, technically as metal or not? - Distrubed & Avenged Sevenfold (sp?), acts like that. I didn't flip through many sections b/c the cappucinno I'd ordered from the cafe` was burning my hand off - as the girl their behind the counter was now all by herself (& of course, every body in front of me seemed to want brunch; or breakfast/lunch & dinner - w/their complicated dessert~drinks!) ;) I felt sorry, she was having to apologize to me for waiting so long : )

But I agree with you! The cafe is located on one end of tthe store, and the music & movies section the other. Meaning, if I'd done my usual stray around all the different book sections, it could've taken hours (several) to get (back) there! ;) We also have a more full service music store in town that is pretty old, and i'm not even sure if still open at the moment. But if they are, they would likely have a lot greater selection. And I think the one I'm talking about here originally, because I'm just picturing it in my mind as I'd glanced at it (without having taken a real good in depth look) last time we'd spoken of this, did have some international acts. I'm just so not well-versed that I didn't know how to best put it! ;)

And then there's the whole Amazon-thing; of which, I'm not a Prime member, meaning I've got to pay shipping usually when only ordering one CD (unless it's s uper expenseiv inmport!) ;) what sometimes occasionally happens then - is I get a cracked CD case in the mail, & sometimes, let's say if I've ordered a "special edition," which could likely even cost more. . . All that has to happen is the employee grabs the wrong one by mistake (which did occur), and then you're out of luck -- unless you want to cause a fuss / which, I ususally don't, when picturing those warehouse employees having to go scrounging around for my selection. . ;) But those have been pretty few & far (in) between~ so, chances are better of a successful transaction happening. Will probably look back if I can later on before making that next trek, or venture to the other record store, as it is a bit more tedious to get to - (location & parking wise!) :D

Thanks again, though! And oh, by-the-way: ) You're description of your guitar playing & it's sound, did (little to) no~thing, to quell my (somewhat insatiable~) appetite for your demo! :D j/k..:)

yup, i did buy yarn a few times and there is a strange aesthetic pleasure doing that. with unlimited money i’d do it often and with other’s resources maybe i’d become a yarn buyer proressionally if such a profession exists. but as for using the yarn, i did make a costume for my at the time very young son with yarn and a bunch of other things but the yarn i bought to make a repair to a sweater is probably sitting somewhere in a closet in its original package and the sweater long since thrown away.

What is on my radar is Birding and finding groups locally to connect with and to learn from. I already love observing birds when I'm out walking so why not make it a "thing" and activate my brain in the mix.
If I figure out how to post pics from my phone onto this site I'll share some.
hey LL, if you make a bird pic thread, can i post mine too? i’ve been using my phone and theyre not that great but it is a nice hobby and my park close by is full of birds.

Hey Nick just wanted to say thanks so much for replying to me about this & I'm delighted that you'll let me know when you have your store up & running! :) As for the name, I always figured if I ever opened some kind of store that I'd just make it have a fairly simple name like JG Creations or if it was just a specific thing I was making then put that as part of the title. It basically just needs to tell people what kind of thing you're doing and if you do lots of things then it doesn't need to be so specific. Anyway gl coming up with the name I'm sure you'll think of something great! ;)

Also just wanted to say love those bottles you made @Inya they are really beautiful & inspiring! :)
Love the pom pom garlands too ❤ ( @Sunspots ) those are so beautiful & awesome! :) Now I want to check etsy and see about getting at least 1 or 2 to hang in my room but I really shouldn't cos I have no more room in my room for anything lol. Also my kitty would definitely think it was a toy I bought just for her to play with :p

That would be fun. I HAVE to figure out how to post pics from my phone. I just now took some..You aren't going to believe, I walked out to the mailbox and something caught my eye in one of my roof high trees by the front door. I posted some pics and my fb friends are telling me its a screech owl. I thought it was a youngster because it's only 6-8 inches tall but they are telling me it's an adult. I've been laying under it for the past 15 minutes, he's totally nonplussed by my presence. :)

i think some birds get a kick out of posing for the camera. i think they somehow know that you are doing something pertaining to you and that you are not infringing on them so they just want to know what you are up to to go to their friends and tell them what they saw and where.
i’ve heard hooting in the park here but could not find anyone to capture in jpg!

Yeah Disturbed and Avenged Sevenfold are considered metal by most metalheads, including myself. ^^ I'm a little shocked at the lack of those bands I mentioned in your store. :D I wonder now if you have ANY European band there, lol. Except Iron Maiden perhaps. And I'm here complaining that my store reduced the metal section and I can't find some of my favourite smaller bands anymore...

I personally order CDs on the record label stores. Nuclear Blast is probably the biggest one for metal music. They're German so it gets to my place very fast and without any problems, but they have a US subsidiary and webstore as well. :)
