Hey all,

So, I nicked (*cough* I mean borrowed) @Rockclimbinggirl's keys.

I had a dream about pancakes so, you guessed it, pancakes are up for breakfast. :) Served with fresh fruit and there's also some syrup for those who want to indulge. Eggs: scrambled, omelette or over easy.

There's a limited serving of porridge; @cgh0991 may have to get in line today before it runs out.

Also inspired by my dream, there is a random pile of oatmeal raisin cookies. Feel free to help yourselves to as many as you'd like.

Is anyone making resolutions for 2017 yet? Do you even make those? Anything you care to share?

Have a great day, folks! View attachment 609 View attachment 610

Oooh they look delicious!

I do not really "make resoloutions" as much as I write a declaration. I think that sounds silly written down maybe, but I feel like resolutions are so often "I am going to quit this or take up that or do something other" and you stop and then feel like you broke your resolution and it is ruined etc. So I write a declaration of intent with goals associated with it. I started in 2012 with "By the end of 2012 I will be employed, my car will be back on the road and I will have a place to live" (along with some intentions around treating myself differently and less concrete stuff).

I haven't done 2017 yet, but I started bullet journaling in October this year and found it really useful so when the xmas break from work rocks round I will set up a new bullet journal and set up some goals and write my declaration in the front. Maybe I can put a pic here hang on:

There - basically it is a diary/to-do list/habit and goal tracker. You draw out any layout that works for you - I have a diary/appointments, priorities for work, priorities for home, weight loss tracker, water intake tracker, weekly to-do list and a daily goals tracker. But you create whatever you need. And if your chosen layout doesn't work for you or you have a week you know you will be doing different stuff (e.g. a week I am not at work) you draw a different layout.

Ticks are tasks done, arrows are tasks postponed but still need completing and crosses are tasks cancelled. I postpone more tasks than I complete which is not great - but I try lol. Other pages of my book have budgets, money trackers, monthly goals, Christmas gift lists other stuff I need to make note of.

Anyway - went off on a tangent sorry!

So - no new year resolutions yet, is what I was getting at!

Hope everyone is having a fabulous day :) :)

Good morning! Sipping on strong coffee right now and loving it!! :)

@AlexiMarie7 The pancakes are scrumptious! Delightful with the fresh fruit! Thank you!

@Freya omg - please come and help me organize my life for a week or two. Then maybe I could try for myself after that. I love your bullet diary! Great idea! :)

Resolutions for 2017? Resolutions? No. Plans? Yes. I plan to get more exercise, eat better, be more organized - and actually trying to start those things now, before the new year. :) We'll see.

Today I'm helping prepare the slides for two presentations on Sunday. We have to select the images. It's a nice way to spend the afternoon, actually. Tomorrow, I'm off to the city's special holiday season market - hoping to find gourmet items for sis, niece, and a friend, and maybe some earrings for sis. There will be lots of walking as the market is in an older, "refurbished" section of town. They've been doing this special market for years and I'm "finally" going. :)

Wishing everyone a wonderful day with a happy surprise at some point! These two are having a good time:

I really like the declaration of intent. I haven't done resolutions for many years but I think I am going to write out something along these lines, with careful thought and positive energy. :)

Your journal looks so well organised and your penmanship is so neat! Mine is pretty...well, it's not great lol.

I am doing laundry at the moment. And some more cleaning is on the agenda for a bit later during the day.

Did some more meditation today; getting myself back in the habit after almost a week when I couldn't be bothered and was considering ceasing altogether. Have some videos/lessons open to go through in the evening.

Bored as whatever. Too bored to even make a comparison here. I'm so bored I'm even going to go to my optional finals review class for the course I'm getting over 100% in.

Think I got my insurance problems dealt with, and then I picked up the meds that they'd allow me to get without prior authorization/dr. talking to insurance. I was going to go to my club meeting for the psychology group because we're hosting a research conference tomorrow, and I'm interested in at least going, but they said they might change the room it was in but didn't actually say if they did, so I felt awkward and left before I found it. I saw some people who might have been going up there as I was leaving, but I wasn't comfortable asking them about it. Was also hoping to see my friend tomorrow :/ I am going to see my new counselor, which is in addition to my school counselor, at least maybe until I get connected with my other outpatient mental health program.

I don't usually make resolutions. I can't be bothererd.

I don't make too many resolutions. I just make long term goals and keep working on them. I am starting work earlier today, so it is good to get the extra hours, especially sine I know I am valued there.

Hi all, whatever time of the day it is by you. Falling asleep here, although it's not yet bed time (hmm, why not) so I guess I won't be partaking of the food.
Gosh Freya, wow!!! I'd never have the dedication to do that.... though, when I do write goals for the day (broken down into really realistic stuff) it feels good to get it done.
Resolutions for the new year? Haven't got one. Hmm, maybe to use the year to try to get to a place of not wanting to end it.

@AlexiMarie7 Pancakes - those sound so good right now- even if it is nearly my bedtime.
@Freya I actually like the set up of the bullet diary - very impressive- now that I have seen as opposed to just "heard" about it and could see myself doing something along those lines. Good for you and I hope you keep with it
@cgh0991 you are welcome to my share of porridge each and every time served here- I will take the pancakes.
@baywasp great that you got the insurance nearly sorted and good that you have got the meds now - I am sorry you are so bored but motivation like that may have a way of you always being caught up and nothing leftover to do like my endless to-do list of things i should have done before...
@Witty_Sarcasm I am really happy for you that work is going well - so glad to see things might be looking up some on some front
@Innocent Forever sorry it was too late for you to partake in food- we must remember to adjust cafe hours on occasion for other parts of the world
@DrownedFishOnFire I have a great chocolate chip cookie recipe- though I suspect most will not call it cooking- I get the rolls or tubs nestle refrigerated chocolate chip cookie dough and the entire baking job consists of "drop dough by teaspoonful onto ungreased cookie sheet in an oven preheated to 350 for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown in color" -- but the house smells great when cooking and they are warm and taste good.... Actually it appears the web site has the recipe of their dough to make from scratch if you prefer- who knew?

My resolutions for 2017- will be the same one as for the last several years -because I know I can't see into the future to not decide that 2017 will be too much until I have given it my best try for every day of the year (and then make the same one yet again for 2018).....

@NYJmpMaster. LOL I actually stood at the aisle pondering if I just should grab one of those at 2.50 apiece. Decided to try again am thinking it was the flour and egg that was stale/ expiry as no one bakes in this house so got a new batch and am trying again!

So new bag of walnuts, chocolate chips, flour, eggs. Round 2
