Good morning folks! Since I'm up, I'm opening the café. Word on the grapevine is that people wanted to sleep in today. Enjoy!

In addition to tea and coffee, we have chia bread toast (high protein and fibre), carrot and no-sugar applesauce muffins, hot oatmeal with cinnamon, cold puffed wheat cereal, grapes and apple slices, and Greek-style yogurt with fresh strawberries. Everything is on the counter - please help yourselves. Oh! Watch that toaster - it tends to burn the corners of the slice and that sets off the smoke alarm, and it's VERY loud - we don't want to wake anyone up by accident. :)

Have a happy day. It's almost Friday. :)

PS: Not sure if anyone is on clean up duty today. Good news for all: Our fancy new dishwasher will be installed tonight so less clean up from now on. :)

I kind of wish I'd slept in. I woke up at 5:30 am for my 7:30 practice. I didn't need to get up that early and ended up getting downtown nearly 40 minutes ahead of the first shuttle's departure. Practice was kind of dumb for me at least. The forwards were working on scrums. They need 8 people for that, plus someone to put in the ball. There were 10 of us, so of course, I was the one standing by just watching. Then we did line-outs and I can't lift or be lifted and somebody else needed to practice throwing in the ball, so I still stood by and watched. I did practically nothing, even when we played touch rugby at the end. Didn't touch the ball or any players. I was learning where I was supposed to be at varying times, though.

Practice wasn't a total waste though. I was visibly unhappy for a while and the captain asked me how I was doing when he and I were joining up to play defense against the rest of the team because there wasn't stuff for everyone to do. I decided to tell him the truth, that I was unhappy and kind of wanted to die. He didn't seem to take it too seriously. After the practice, I apologized for my attitude today, and he seemed to be fine with it. After leaving, I went and had a chocolate chip muffin for breakfast. While I was eating that, I got a text from him telling me if I ever need to talk to him or vent about something, he'll be there for me. I took the opportunity to unload pretty much everything: my mental health, my financial problems, and my doubts about the future. Not much came of the conversation, but it was nice to be able to tell him these things, and maybe he'll understand me a little better. (I probably should have held back a little more to be honest...) We just finished talking. I'm going to shower then see if I can afford to wash my clothes.

Hey everyone, of course I slept late again too, but it's cool and raining outside so that's okay.
Just having a cup of tea to get moving. Have a good day everyone

We finally got my grandfather's death certificate. It said he had a heart attack and died within minutes, so there wasn't anything we could have done. I feel like that gives us a bit of closure and answers some questions.
