I don't know how good I am at handling stress, I usually just do things to tune it out. This includes cleaning, sleeping, writing, reading, watching TV and movies, listening to music, talking to friends, playing games on the phone and online, going outside, or doing some shopping. I want to actually get some Christmas shopping done, I just need a ride because the weather is terrible.

What you do to reduce stress? or deal with anxiety?
For stress ...I come here on SF and find that responding to posts here helps to take my mind off things that are praying on my mind so to speak... .I also write in the private journal here extensively and though often feel I am writing the same things over and over again it does help to get these thoughts down on "paper". To be honest I can't remember an extended time when I haven't felt under stress due to family, job etc etc. so I realize that I need to work on this more as I tend to just internalize it and only express it a bit to my therapist but always with a laugh and a positive spin...as worry if i really expressed how I am feeling I would just collapse in a heap and that isn't an option so just have to keep putting one foot in front of the other.

As far as anxiety...when reaches the point of panic attacks I just take deep breaths and hope that it only lasts a few minutes and not longer as then would be noticed by my colleagues at work which is where it happens...and I can't afford to let that happen.

How am I doing today, how my weekend is going, or what my plans are
Doing ok I guess ...weekend has and will continue to be spent packing like mad as movers come on he 21st at 8am....so getting there but of course more to do....reaching that point in moving where I no longer care and just want to put things in boxes labeled living room misc...as much as will regret doing that on the other end.....and more so my other half ...

I normally paint or just get out of the house and go shopping. It takes an hour to drive to the nearest city and I go a couple of times a month and put the music on loud in the car. This week I did a session of craniosacral therapy because my stress has been really high. It was interesting and so relaxing I felt really spaced out for about an hour afterwards. Walking is good too. The stress usually comes from my husband so really just anything that takes me away to focus my attention on something completely different works for me.

Thank you for tagging me @Kiwi2016 and @JMG.

It depends of the kind of stress or anxiety it is.

If it's regarding family relationships I tend to ignore it and internalize it, or have had counseling in the past. Regarding my mothers care, I'm lucky to have one family member that i work on this with. I have one friend that I can talk to about anything without judgement.

For work anxiety or when I feel inadequate, I use self-talk or imagery. This also worked when I was in situations in which I felt trapped.

Other than that, I occasionally walk at the park, around the block, I draw or color, read, follow a pescetarian diet. I like to watch funny or violent TV. That's about it.

Ivan, I haven't gotten to chat with you much but I've liked getting to know you a bit. I hope to see you around, you seem like a good guy. There's always cookies to be had in the cafe. You can drop by and post on the topic or just say hi to the people gathered.

For stress and anxiety I come to SF to vent and let it go. I used to journal and it was very helpful and relieved the stress but my ex read the journal without my knowledge and well, that is why he is the "ex." Now I stress if I write anything down even though there is no one to go behind my back and read it.

Still sick and crappy today (Sunday) but I will go to work tomorrow in spite of my laryngitis and cough. I used up my sick time for last week's snow storm when i couldn't get into work. Only one more week of work before Christmas break. Then I can sleep.

I get stressed writing too since my dad read my diary when I was a teenager and I got into trouble. It has made me a bit paranoid I think.
Oh, that's so unfair. I had laryngitis a couple of years ago and it was so painful, coughing night and day. I really hope you get over the worst of it soon @cymbele *hug

I can't believe it!!! The doors are still locked. Good thing I know where the key is hidden.
Come on in, and enjoy the cafe. Grab a drink and a pastry.

I've only got one question. I'm interested to know what you do to reduce stress? or deal with anxiety? (I'm asking this for selfish reasons)

If that's to heavy or not your speed today, how about sharing the last funny video you saw (keep it clean!!!). Or just tell us how you're doing today, how your weekend is going, or what plans you've got.

Will answer all the q's & also tag 2 people I can think of who weren't already tagged - @Walker @Lane

what you do to reduce stress? or deal with anxiety?
I'm not very good at dealing with either of those things a lot of the time but if it's possible for me to talk to someone about whatever is stressing me out or making me anxious then that sometimes helps. Also remembering things I'm grateful for, reading affirmations, writing in my diary, reading, looking at funny pics, watching funny videos or looking at art.

how you're doing today
So-so, had yet another argument with my friend and kinda stormed out of his place which I never did before but I was pretty pissed at him & still am, trying to calm down about it though.

how your weekend is going
Would be going a lot better if I had just not gone to friends place last night I really need to stop putting myself through such misery like that. Aside from the fact that I got sucked into going over there yet again I guess it's fine.

plans you've got
Lol I rarely have plans, or when I actually do it's rarely any kind of "fun" plans, more just like "things I have to do" kind of plans but that is it, could be much worse though I know.
I forgot how nice it is to look at art @JMG. I always say I'm going to go to a museum and just wander around.

Sorry to hear you had a fight with your friend. I remember you mentioning him before. *hugtackles
