Thank you for the tag @JMG.
I love Desiderata.
Hello everyone.
I haven't had a minor illness like a cold or flu in years. As an adult they are an annoyance. As a kid a day home from school was a treat...all day tv, reading, paint by number......precomputer life.
Support during most sick time to try and shorten the experience.....No Dairy, homemade chicken and vegetable soup, lots of liquids, no sugar, essential oil baths and application, castor oil packs, sunshine, Herbal concoctions and teas. Salt water inhalation. Echinacea, Zinc, and Elderberry. Vitamin C loading.

Question: Just peanut butter works or will any nut butter do?

Hi and thank you for the tag @Astrid78, and also great cafe idea @Dante!

Poetry Table
Yes, its World Poetry Day today, so its time to celebrate rhyme and metre once again.
1) Who is your favourite poet?
I don’t think I really have a favourite in particular, I like maybe one or more poems by different poets that I have encountered throughout my life and some have stuck with me more than others.

2) Do you have any favourite poem?
I have a number of favourites but one of my very favourites is “Metaphors” by Sylvia Plath.

3) Do you have a particularly poignant or meaningful line of poetry to share with us today? This is a poem called “Happiness” by A.A Milne, it’s very meaningful to me because I love the simplicity behind its meaning and that it’s very important (to me) to enjoy those small moments of happiness in life when you can find them.

4) If you have written your own poetry, lets hear it! ^^ (Paste here or leave a link)
I have written some in the past but I don’t have them anymore, I know I’m being negative about myself but they really were a load of rubbish anyway :D

Thanks @JMG

Been a long morning and probably an even longer night. Th sun decided to shine today yet it’s soooo cold! Wtf is up with that 🤨😏😏😏

Ohh questions about being sick.
I tend to live a “sickly” life so I really am never feeling a total 💯 and my rituals and what not when I get really sick is basically just lay there wishing it to all be over.
I don’t “do” sick days. As long as I can sit and not bleeding out I make it to work 9/10 times. I was sent home by my employer once because of a 102 fever.
All I was thinking about was this cuts into my overtime now.

I have always had jobs where I am depended on, no one can replace what I do. :( sometimes I wish I had jobs where no one would notice if I was gone. 😂I would be taking sick days left and right!
Probably why I am a walking horror show now riddled with ailments.

We live , we learn. Plus I feel like the many years I took off of work and just was home. I am making up for that now hahha

I was just on MetaFilter (my other home)

A question in AskMiFi came about and the comments brought m to this old famous story lol.
Never read the article before now but I did hear about this sometime back.

Poetry Table
Yes, its World Poetry Day today, so its time to celebrate rhyme and metre once again.
1) Who is your favourite poet?

Ice-T. Well, at least he calls himself a poet!

2) Do you have any favourite poem?
Not really, but I passively memorized large amounts of Ice-T's rap lyrics just from sitting on the bus when they played it all the time.

3) Do you have a particularly poignant or meaningful line of poetry to share with us today?
Last suckers crossed, Syndicate shot 'em up
Cops found 'em in the lake, bottom up
I don't play when it comes to my dope
I check my lyrics close, like with a microscope
I don't clean 'em up with no Ivory soap
I leave 'em hard and pure, hope that you can cope
'Cause you might OD if you overdrive
This record, tape or CD because the sound I
Created on this wax is like a chemical
And the knowledge I give makes me invincible

4) If you have written your own poetry, lets hear it! ^^ (Paste here or leave a link)
Roses are red
Violets are blue
I have a very short attention span
