Hello,

Me again - I hope no one minds. Last time I learned that the customary thing is to post images of tasty treats, so I've posted some of my favourites below.

BGT2019-Simon-Cowell.jpg
90.jpg

Now for some questions?
  1. Do you have or have you ever had a celebrity crush? If so, who? If not, why do you think that is?
  2. Would you rather sneeze 8 times in a row every 30 mins, or have the urge to sneeze for at least 8 hours a day with no way of getting rid of it?
  3. What image/person comes into your head when you think of the word 'hero'?
  4. Do you know any of your neighbours, if so, how well?
  5. What kind of mailbox do you have? (e.g - is it one that's on it's own outside on a post, one that's a gap through a door (I call these the slip 'n slide because of how the mail travels, how exciting!), do you live in an apartment building and have one of those communal ones?)

My answers:
1: Simon Cowell, Hugh Jackman (if it wasn't painfully obvious enough)
2: Sneeze for sure
3: Henrietta Lacks
4: I know one of them due to them having an argument that was very audible through my walls
5: I have the communal one - I live for one that you have to go outside to get your mail though, I'd customise it!

Thanks for tolerating me.

1. Not really...though I find Emma Thompson to be incredibly attractive on every level..

2. Sneeze 8 times

3. Fred Rogers

4. There are four units in my building, two up and two down. I know my neighbors across the hall pretty well, they have a son about my boy's age. I have said hello and chatted briefly with the downstairs' neighbors (both single women), but don't really know them that well ..

5. I have my own mailbox, as do the three other units. They are mounted next to the front doors .

Hugh Jackman, definitely

Would you rather sneeze 8 times in a row every 30 mins, or have the urge to sneeze for at least 8 hours a day with no way of getting rid of it?
8 times in a row, and get rid of it

What image/person comes into your head when you think of the word 'hero'?
Jimmy Carter, the former President of the US. He is in his 90s and since he became a regular person again, he spends a great deal of time volunteering for Habitat for Humanity and building houses.
Also, Gary Sinese, (sp?) on top of being a good actor, he is involved in supporting veterans and active service people.

Do you know any of your neighbours, if so, how well?
I do know quite a few as I live in a 5 story building that pretty much has us on top of each other. I have passing acquaitance with most and am close to 2 of them. Having neighbors you know is a blessing

I have a communal one down on the 1st floor. It is kind of neat because they bought ones that look antique. I live in whats termed an "historic bldg." although that pretty much for the most part means old and decrepit.

  • Do you have or have you ever had a celebrity crush? If so, who? If not, why do you think that is?
I've never had any, but perhaps nowadays I do, although it's debatable if I have a "crush celebrity", or if I admire the art and the people as a whole and feel some connection with them. Tuomas Holopainen* is like a male version of me, it's like he reads my mind. Simone Simons'* beauty dazzles me, lol. Her and I share a lot of interests, ideas, styles, vocal ranges (lol).
  • Would you rather sneeze 8 times in a row every 30 mins, or have the urge to sneeze for at least 8 hours a day with no way of getting rid of it?
I think sneezing would be more satisfying, it'd only take like a minute every 30mins.
  • What image/person comes into your head when you think of the word 'hero'?
Sorry @Ash600 , you came to my mind again. *hysterical
I don't have any heroes, or you can refer to question 1. :)

  • Do you know any of your neighbours, if so, how well?
Not at all. I wouldn't recognize them on the street.
  • What kind of mailbox do you have? (e.g - is it one that's on it's own outside on a post, one that's a gap through a door (I call these the slip 'n slide because of how the mail travels, how exciting!), do you live in an apartment building and have one of those communal ones?)
Yep, I live in an apartment and it's nothing fancy, but I finally went to make a pic for you. :p Mine is number 3, with a sticker that says "stop publicity and free press" in both our languages. My hand is actually small enough to be able to grab some of our mail without opening it. Fantastic. *rofl That's all I have to say about it.

Thanks for opening and for the tag @Lux :)

  1. Do you have or have you ever had a celebrity crush? If so, who? If not, why do you think that is? Robert Smith from The Cure image.jpg and Michael Hutchence from INXS michael-hutchence-768x435.jpg
  2. Would you rather sneeze 8 times in a row every 30 mins, or have the urge to sneeze for at least 8 hours a day with no way of getting rid of it? Sneeze 8 times in a row every 30 minutes - I pretty much do that every summer anyway.
  3. What image/person comes into your head when you think of the word 'hero'? Martin Luther King Jr
  4. Do you know any of your neighbours, if so, how well? Yes, lots of them. We live in a small close and we all seemed to have similar aged children that would all play out together when they were small so us mum's all got to know eachother. Three of us are still very close.
  5. What kind of mailbox do you have? We've got a brushed stainless steel one on our front door IMG_20200528_170744.jpg

1. Dean Martin plus many many others
2. Would rather NOT sneeze at all
3. My parents - they did a decent job with their kids and thats hard to do. They also loved each other til the day they died.
4. Barely
5. Communal box about a block away. Thank goodness it locks. But sometimes that isn't enough.

Do you have or have you ever had a celebrity crush? If so, who? If not, why do you think that is?
No never. Why, because that's just how it is. Maybe it's the realist within me as in why chase the unattainable?

Would you rather sneeze 8 times in a row every 30 mins, or have the urge to sneeze for at least 8 hours a day with no way of getting rid of it?
8 in a row for 30mins and during the sneeze free periods, I'll be searching for a rhinologist to sort it out.

What image/person comes into your head when you think of the word 'hero'?
Those who are unsung.

Do you know any of your neighbours, if so, how well?
Yeah kind of know about 3 of them. I know them well enough to exhange affirmative nods in each others' general direction with the optional " a'right" sometimes added.

What kind of mailbox do you have? (e.g - is it one that's on it's own outside on a post, one that's a gap through a door (I call these the slip 'n slide because of how the mail travels, how exciting!), do you live in an apartment building and have one of those communal ones?)

just arrived just in time
thanks thanks @Lux @BlackOpium
as for “tasty treats” i guess i understand, but in this particular instance for me i’ll have to go with something like a croissant or nice nibbling cheese (i am not a mouse) or bisquit or cookie somethinganything that goes well with black/no sugar coffee.

and my response to the questions:
  • Do you have or have you ever had a celebrity crush? If so, who? If not, why do you think that is? never not! i have had assorted “celebrity crushes” at various times in my life. i will list a few. some at the time were older women and at other times young girls that were/are supposedly “too young” but all were never as romantic/sexual crushes but necessarily women and crushes just the same. there is so much more meaning to the word “crush” too that is probably not evident. i would explain, but then we’d have a reply here that goes way beyond my usual wordiness. but trying to get back on track, they all were/are women to whom my multi faceted admiration was directed mostly because their special artistic creativity (and how it flows from each their unique self), usually via their music or acting. glenda jackson, liv ullman, jill clayburgh, lily allen, billie eilish, amy winehouse, maria muldaur, olena uutai, and there are so many others and at the various times in my life for each and i did spend significant brain energy admiring them as “crushes” a great deal.
  • Would you rather sneeze 8 times in a row every 30 mins, or have the urge to sneeze for at least 8 hours a day with no way of getting rid of it? i suppose that the 8/30 seems a bit gentler on the body and soul. just the same, thanks but no thanks. i’ll pass on both.
  • What image/person comes into your head when you think of the word 'hero'? there is way more meaning than just the words/thought i use now in answering this question, but the word “hero” for me does inspire any at any given moment - at the times they occurred - pertaining to the above mentioned women “crushes”, in a way i wont explain now.
  • Do you know any of your neighbours, if so, how well? i am assuming that neighbors are the people who live in close proximity to me where i live. i live in a fairly large apartment building and with my overwhelming inhibitions i hardly talk to anyone at all. this is something i have been struggling to overcome all my life and have consistently failed at. i assume that “knowing” mentioned here goes a bit beyond just recognizing them on the street or hallway or somewhere. like as if they are good acquaintances or nearly friends or even if perhaps once being engaged in some kind of dispute even. unfortunately at that level, i’d have to answer - no. i don’t know my neighbors. i have spoken a little with one man who used to walk to the train at the same time in the morning that i did, but still i do not feel i really know him.
  • What kind of mailbox do you have? (e.g - is it one that's on it's own outside on a post, one that's a gap through a door (I call these the slip 'n slide because of how the mail travels, how exciting!), do you live in an apartment building and have one of those communal ones?) yup i live in an apartment building. the building has two sides one on each side of the lobby and a corresponding set of mailboxes on each side. a whole wall of boxes for each side. the doors open with a key. i incidentally once wrote a poem that referred to a “slip ‘n slide” type mailbox. wish i had used the term slip ‘n slide”!!! and another thing is that a woman who has my initials and a name nearly the same as mine lives on the other side and we sometimes get the other’s mail.

  1. Do you have or have you ever had a celebrity crush? If so, who? If not, why do you think that is? I like Dan Stevens, who was in Downton Abbey, amongst other things. This is because he reminds me, in terms of looking and charm, of someone I've met in real life, who used to be in the army.
  2. Would you rather sneeze 8 times in a row every 30 mins, or have the urge to sneeze for at least 8 hours a day with no way of getting rid of it? The former, but the latter would mean I had no respite from it.
  3. What image/person comes into your head when you think of the word 'hero'? A person in a cape, initially. Then, the mind immediately jumps to the real-life figures, such as soldiers, RAF pilots etc.
  4. Do you know any of your neighbours, if so, how well? I know who they are, but they do not like me lol. Too snobby.
  5. What kind of mailbox do you have? (e.g - is it one that's on it's own outside on a post, one that's a gap through a door (I call these the slip 'n slide because of how the mail travels, how exciting!), do you live in an apartment building and have one of those communal ones?) Just literally a letterbox on the front door, nothing fancy.
Thanks for the tag @BlackOpium

1. Do you have or have you ever had a celebrity crush? If so, who? If not, why do you think that is?

Okay, I think everyone knows that I'm in love with Davey Havok at this point. That's no secret anymore, lol. But I mean, come on, this man is a freaking god. He's vegan, very respectful to other living things and the environment, always stands up for what he believes in, he's intelligent as hell, he writes his lyrics using metaphors and symbolism, and every word he sings (if you actually understand what he's saying) tugs at the heart strings. He's clearly had issues with mental illness and self-harm in the past, and he's just an amazing and talented individual all around, the entire package.

daveyhavoksolo.jpg

images (2).jpeg

Also, as you can see, he challenges the concept of gender and, as a pansexual, believes that people should be able to love whomever they want to. Which is why he'll wear pink and not give two fucks what anyone else thinks. What's not to love about this man?

2. Would you rather sneeze 8 times in a row every 30 mins, or have the urge to sneeze for at least 8 hours a day with no way of getting rid of it?

Definitely sneeze 8 times.

3. What image/person comes into your head when you think of the word 'hero'?

All the doctors and nurses and other medical personnel risking their lives right now to save people.

4. Do you know any of your neighbours, if so, how well?

Nope, and have no desire to. My one neighbor is a perverted scumbag, and the other one is an older Russian dude whom I have nothing in common with. Oh, and there are also some people from the Russian mob living next door. So yeah, no thanks.

5. What kind of mailbox do you have? (e.g - is it one that's on it's own outside on a post, one that's a gap through a door (I call these the slip 'n slide because of how the mail travels, how exciting!), do you live in an apartment building and have one of those communal ones?)

It's on its own, on a post. Never thought mailboxes were all that interesting to be honest, lol.

  1. Do you have or have you ever had a celebrity crush? If so, who? If not, why do you think that is? Plenty of them. I typically prefer dark haired, dark eyed gals so ones like Sarah Shahi, Norah Jones, Salma Hayek and quite a few others who fit the description.
  2. Would you rather sneeze 8 times in a row every 30 mins, or have the urge to sneeze for at least 8 hours a day with no way of getting rid of it? Sneeze definitely.
  3. What image/person comes into your head when you think of the word 'hero'? Desmond Doss, being into history I heard and read of his story years before the movie Hacksaw Ridge came out. He stuck to his morals while saving lives, a LOT of lives, about 80 of them in combat. Since he was a conscientious objector and pacifist many believed he was a coward...until they got into combat and learned that he would risk death to save their lives.
  4. Do you know any of your neighbours, if so, how well? Quite a few, but growing up in the same small farm town that my grandparents and mother was born in or lived most lives in at 56 I am a baby and some of the people knew my mother when she was a child.
  5. What kind of mailbox do you have? (e.g - is it one that's on it's own outside on a post, one that's a gap through a door (I call these the slip 'n slide because of how the mail travels, how exciting!), do you live in an apartment building and have one of those communal ones?) PO Box here but the town is that small so many still use the box.

Never too many times!!!
No right or wrong thing though your treats made me laugh.

I never watched TV or the like, and never saw any movies before a few years ago, so no celebrities.

I'd rather sneeze! Needing to, Arthur, can't face that for so many hours a day

Gary is funny lol. I know some of my neighbours. My next door neighbour is actually my line manager at work. The neighbour next to her, I took her child home from school often.

We have a slip n slide I think you called it. Never knew anything different..... we used to have letter boxes to catch the letters but no longer.

Thanks for the tag!!

1. ... I do think a lot of Robert Irvine and Marcus Lemonis, they have so much compassion, heart, and generosity and give back to so many. And they are easy on the eyes :)
Oh, yeah.... I had a deep crush at the age of 10 or so on Wayne Newton and didn't wash my face or hand for a week after he kissed me on both at the Astrodome in the 60's. And I saw him again at a performance back in the early 90's, sitting right in front of him and reminded him that that occurred and then got a second smooch, right in front of my husband.

2. easy.. sneezy

3. héros are all over.....I named two here that just happen to be sort of known.

4. I've always known my neighbors all my life wherever I've lived....chatting in the street after work, riding bikes, baking cookies for the kids, helping out in a needed moment or a rough time, and it's a bizarre experience this past decade to live on a street that rarely interacts or even waves a hello, even now during a pandemic.
.....next place I move to I will pre-interview the future neighbors and take their temperature first. It's that important.

5. I have an individual mailbox on a post at the curb in front of my house.

Do you have or have you ever had a celebrity crush? If so, who? If not, why do you think that is?
I like Dustin Bates, the singer of Starset....idk if he counts as a celeb as he's not mega famous. So no? I guess not. I don't know I'm kinda logical about it lol I don't pay attention to celebs because I know there's no point ultimately as you can't be with them anyway so it's a waste of feelings, you just get frustrated or sad which is annoying so there's no end goal to it... so I simply shut myself off from them and feel nothing ....wow I wish I could be that logical with my emotions about other people *rofl

Would you rather sneeze 8 times in a row every 30 mins, or have the urge to sneeze for at least 8 hours a day with no way of getting rid of it?
I think sneeze 8 times, I can't imagine putting up with that irritating feeling of needing to sneeze for that long!

What image/person comes into your head when you think of the word 'hero'?
the song Hero by Skillet

Do you know any of your neighbours, if so, how well?
I know all of them apart from one lot as they only moved here in recent years. I've lived here my whole life and so have one lot of my neighbours and the other neighbours have been here since I was a kid. I don't know all their personal lives though

What kind of mailbox do you have? (e.g - is it one that's on it's own outside on a post, one that's a gap through a door (I call these the slip 'n slide because of how the mail travels, how exciting!), do you live in an apartment building and have one of those communal ones?)
I have the one that's a gap through the door - that's the norm here in the UK :D

thanks for the tag @LonelyHiker :D
