Anyone have plans?
this is actually one of my life goals - to have plans. would that then mean my plans are to have plans? then i guess yes, i do. now to figure out how to put them into action. i’m hoping some other SFers can make a few suggestions. for now today, i plan to just take it easy and try to keep things clear in my mind and not be overwhelmed. banks being closed is definitely helpful!!! 🌞🌞🌞

Memorial Day is a holiday to honor soldiers lost in the line of duty. For my family, we always observed this and made time to honor all lost friends & family.
Growing up we were always required to go mow, pick up debris & weed the local (rural) cemetery for Memorial Day and a few other times during the year to make it nice for families to visit.
Lots of memories - like being grumpy about more chores, then working together making it look spectacular & hearing stories about those gone before us.
Some wonderful memories running around after the work was complete. A local minister would do a short prayer service. Dad and others from the volunteer fire station would drive the 3 firetrucks with lights & sirens to the cemetery. Then the service.
As an adult, I didn’t frequent the cemetery as regularly. When my dad died, i knew i needed to check to make sure the cemetery looked good for his internment, or he’d haunt me (😂). Man o man that place was in dire need. I spent several hours trying to get the family sites presentable. Since he’s passed, I always make time before Memorial Day to do the extra care there. The Veteran’s group does the service now. It was nice to hear stories & recall memories.

Another short story. My sons dog Layla died recently. She was cremated. Yesterday was the day. He took and sprinkled her ashes at “all the places she loved going”. He even did 3 of their walking routes to sprinkle her. Very, very sweet goodbye.

Lets work together to keep hope alive within us. I know its hard to hang on to...You are special.

It's so good. The place I'm thinking of going to, I like to get either chocolate with egg custard or honeydew jasmine green with mango jelly or popping boba.
Love how customizable it can be.
Ooooh honeydew jasmine sounds heavenly. I love jasmine flavoured stuff 🌼
I wish my tea place had that stuff. They just have chai and thai tea flavors. I havent even tried taro yet..

There's a fair amount of tea places here, so there's a lot of variety. They're mostly all in the one neighborhood, or nearby, where a lot of the colleges are. But my favorite restaurant downtown has a few flavors. That place has Earl Grey, Thai tea, taro, and Vietnamese iced coffee. You should try the taro if you get the chance. My favorite restaurant describes it as tasting like cereal milk. (I don't eat my cereal with milk though, so idk.)

Sad news to hear of the loss of Layla from your family.

Pretty lazy yesterday, big storm moved in yesterday afternoon and did not clear out until Noon today, kind of a gullywasher but one that lasted most of a day and even lost electricity yesterday evening, so a early bedtime for me yesterday. LOL
