Today is American football day (who knew that was a thing) as well as National Jersey Friday. Do you watch American football? What jersey are you wearing? What's your team?

Apparently there is also an entire day for people with red hair --- National Love You Red Hair Day and National Redhead Day - so here you, it's a day to shine brighter than yesterday!

Bonfire Night or Fireworks Night or Guy Fawkes Day in the UK area too. Anyone doing anything fun?

It's also "Love Your Lawyer Day" but that's gotta be a joke right? I mean, attorneys are great for a few things but I think in most cases, for the average person, if we're talking with them it's likely not great.

@Walker...thanks for opening...

I admit I am a fan of American football...so as a Pittsburgh girl a Steelers fan ---thanks to my mom who loved the Steelers and having met Lynn Swan as a kid....and now have adopted the Rams and the Chargers...as a southern Californian....

Have always admired those who have auburn hair but never brave enough to ever dye my hair as my mom once did and due to the sun her hair turned into a carrot color ... lol

So as one living across the pond...how do you all celebrate Guy Fawkes day?

As for lawyers, admit am biased as work for one and also have one going above and beyond for my father's estate...but like in most fields there are the good, the bad and the ugly...the last two usually the most visible with slimy commercials and making the news for various not so good reasons alas...

Wishing all a great Friday!

Guy Fawkes attempted to blow up the House of Lords at the opening of parliament on 5th December 1605. The aim was to kill the King and bring down the government so that they could restore a Catholic King to the throne. But he and his gunpowder were discovered in the early hours of the morning in a cellar beneath Parliament and he was arrested. It's been celebrated each year since (I have absolutely no idea why) with huge bonfires, burning effigies and fireworks.

The part of England I grew up in take it very seriously. There are torch lit processions every weekend for the weeks running up to it, culminating in a huge procession on Guy Fawkes night with thousands of people. Rolling burning barrels of tar through the streets, burning torches and fireworks.

Yo, Happy Friday!

I watch 🏈football. Mostly college, Notre Dame jersey. Watch some pro. No favorites.
Fun Fact- I was a manager (1 of 4) of my high school 🏈 team.

I colored my hair firetruck red once. I dont think theres even a photo of it! I have been told I have a hint of strawberry in my hair, but it always looks brownish to me.

No UK celebrations for me.

Lawyers… Geoff Fieger -you’ve got to love him.

I had no idea there was an American Football Day!!!! I just love American football. Every play is like a chess match. I don't really have a team (maybe you can say it's the Raiders lol. Derek Carr is from the area I grew up and so is his brother David Carr, who was a former No. 1 overall pick. So I just root for the team Derek Carr is on lol).

I don't really like American football all that much. My favorite NFL team is the Minnesota Vikings because it's my dad's favorite NFL team, and I never bothered to look more into it more myself. He's way more into college football though and a Penn State fan. I got to go to a couple of Penn State games when I was in high school. It was a great atmosphere at their stadium. I barely follow them anymore either, though I am happy when I hear that they've won. (I am in no way really a Steelers fan, but I do like to hear when they win because the next day local McDonald's locations give away a free Big Mac with minimum $1 purchase for customers using the app.)

I have dyed part of my hair bright red a few times and am planning to do it again soon, especially now that it's hockey season again. But my hair is naturally brown.

I know about Bonfire Night and Guy Fawkes and all of that stuff, but I've never had the occasion to celebrate it.

One of the few people I still talk to from my old neighborhood where I grew up is a lawyer. We'll text each other every once in a while to check in. She and her wife let me stay at their house when I went to visit my mom a few years back, but they have now moved into Lancaster city and are planning to live in North Carolina potentially upon retirement.
