Hey everyone, hope you are all having a good day! Saw there was no cafe posted yesterday or today yet so I thought I'd post it for today. I made the above cafe sign thing, I also have a plain one that doesn't have the pix on it. If you think it would be better w/o pix please feel free to say so when/if you choose to reply here. Or not, just saying I won't be offended if someone says which way they think it would be better ;) :) Anyway in terms of a theme I was thinking nature so if you wanted to talk about nature or post pix of some of your fave things about it then that's cool. I'll put some nature related q's here too :)

Questions

1. What is one of your fave things about nature?
2. What is one of your least fave things about nature?
3. What is your fave season?
4. What is your least fave season?
5. Completely non-nature related q in case you don't like this theme, not really a q so much actually, just a "how are you doing? is there anything you feel like talking about?" kind of thing. So talk about anything you feel like here or if you don't feel like talking then it's fine to just say that too, whatever you want ;) :)

Tagging: @1964dodge @Lane @Champagne @Autumn1973 @MisterBGone @extraterrestrialone @Road to Nowhere @Blue Star (will do more in another post) ;)

I'm ok, glad I was able to stay home tonight instead of having to go out since I didn't feel like going anywhere anyway. In terms of things I feel like talking about, yes, pretty much always for the most part but tbh I'm not very sure where to even begin. Might be best just expressed in a poem or something, just not very sure right now so maybe I'm just still processing some stuff.
Hope everyone is well and that you all have a nice day though ;) :)

Not made by me, none of these are, just found them online ;)

Since β€˜how are you doing’ isn’t really a question I’ll respond like I always do. I’m ok. *rofl

1. What is one of your fave things about nature?
Animals, the sea

2. What is one of your least fave things about nature?
Spiders, bugs, wormy things, mosquitos, moths or anything else with an exoskeleton 😱

3. What is your fave season?
Summer. I love the warmth, the beach, getting my toes out in sandals, eating outdoors :)

4. What is your least fave season?
I don't really have a least favourite - they've all got good bits. But I hate grey, rainy days.

Ive been thinking about overcompensation in social situations lately. We are all a little guarded, we dont want the people we hate to know we hate them (because we arent cruel) and we dont want the people we really like to know either (embarrassing), we dont want people to see how much we want something like chocolate if we are on a diet and so on. Its not a big deception, we just keep the extremes of ourselves hidden, this isnt so much a lie as it is just keeping things OK. If everyone who was dieting constantly talked about how hungry they were it would such, if every recovering alcoholic constantly made a big deal about it, it would get in the way of other conversations, we all hide our desires, and in many ways end up overcompensating.

We tend to overcorrect when hiding something, the most obvious examples are aggression and sentiment, if you hate someone already but are trying to hide it you will let stuff go more readily rather than make an issue with them because you are already holding back with them, whereas if someone else did the same thing you would probably call them on it, and if you really like someone you will avoid any jokes or playfulness is that direction to avoid tipping your hand whereas you may have been more free and joky with others. Its a theme you see in multiple films, in fact the film The Village directly calls it out when one character tells his mother that he KNOWS XXX likes her because he never touches her, and in a later scene he is shaking hands with everyone but holds back with her. As the character Lucas so ineloquently puts it "We don't allow ourselves to do the things we want to do so that others wont know that we want to do them".

I've been thinking about mankind's duplicitous nature recently and this example specifically keeps popping into mind as the clearest example I know, that and this one guy at work I constantly put up with despite the fact that if anyone else did half the stuff he did I wouldn't be so charitable, mainly because he is ALWAYS pulling that crap *facepalm

The above isnt to say that we are all liars, its just that we couldnt function without our little secrets. Imagine if everyone you coudlnt stand at work suddenly KNEW, that would make for a very uncomfortable workplace, and if everyone you ever had a misguided crush on KNEW, and say if you were thinking of proposing to someone, imagine if you told them the second you started considering it? Secrets are necessary and in some cases healthy, but I find out little, telling overcompensations to be interesting.

What? You said "is there anything you feel like talking about?" :P

Blue skies and balmy temperatures in a pine forest enclosing a lake.

2. What is one of your least fave things about nature?
Mosquites during hot and humid weather.

3. What is your fave season?

Good morning everyone. Thank you for the tag @JMG. Love the pictures. I had a beautiful Australian cattle dog with two different colored eyes......
1. Nature, one of my favorites...trees, water, birds, smells, wind, earth, stars, moon, clouds, sunrises and sunsets, animals, mountains, the quiet of it......etc. etc. etc.
2. least favorite...at the moment, this frigid past week and the damage it has done, now having to boil water..
3. Autumn
4. Summer....too much humid heat here and mosquitos
5. I'm happy to have made it through this week with minor house damage and minimal power outage.

Hey everyone, I appreciate the invite & the cafe fun @JMG , I absolutely love nature! I've been waiting for it to get a bit warmer out to go hiking & have a bit of an adventure, hopefully it will be soon!πŸŒ²πŸŒ±πŸŒ΅πŸŒ»πŸƒ

1. What is one of your fave things about nature?

This is a tough one! I guess I really have always liked the varieties of nature, & the majesty they bring within their different aesthetics. I guess I love the livliness & realness of it all the most.

2. What is one of your least fave things about nature?

My least favorite thing would have to be the fact that some of the most beautiful parts of it find an end I suppose..

3. What is your fave season?

Recently I've teetered between Autumn & Spring.. I like the coziness of fall but it seems there's always more happiness in spring πŸ˜„

4. What is your least fave season?

Winter is beautiful but it's always been a little bit depressing for me.

5. Completely non-nature related q in case you don't like this theme, not really a q so much actually, just a "how are you doing? is there anything you feel like talking about?" kind of thing. So talk about anything you feel like here or if you don't feel like talking then it's fine to just say that too, whatever you want ;) :)

Honestly? I've been having a tough time. Most days I'm okay with being alone but it's hard on an emotional level. It's hard feeling like... no one truly knows who I am completey & it's saddening or that know one seems to care to. I've gotten to know people but some of the people in my life have admitted they use me as a listener, so I tend to keep my issues internal. I don't mean to get melancholy or ranty so I'll stop there. It just eats at me sometimes & I feel too bad to just project my emotions, I never want to be too assertive... its been bothering me a good part of the week. I don't know, I think we all need a good friend in life.

Anyways, I appreciate that invite! I hope everyone has had a swell week & an astounding day! 🌈

Hey? Great to see you in here. . . @StrangeRanger ! ! ! ! : ) ! ! ! : ) ! ! : ) _now, if I may--;)~*> I think that what I like about winter being or feeling all depressing, is that it more so "mirrors," my mood half the time, or when I am feeling somewhat down; whereas if I'm not feeling that overly "great" ~in, or come the summer: then I feel more akin to the 'seasonal,' perhaps? of the D-word! (at least, "mine-" That is..;)) / now interesting thing about Spring, for me - is that it always seems a bit more depressing & unsettling in the beginning, of it (or it's "onset!") then it does as it gets rolling, or unfolding--& then rawr-ing on it's way to a climax, crescendo; or~ "an_End!" ;D (but that is Just ME-)_^~*&, i think- as has already been establishe, 'me!' is NOT Every^Body. . :D And Thank-Goodness (& Gracious!) for THAT~ ;)

But I agree with you, here as well - that it is very good & necessary, "Essential~!*>." (it could be argued?) to have a True / or Genuine & Authentic ("Real") friend or some one in Life~ who you can confide in. You can't simply be every-one else's soundboard, or place that they come to dump their troubles, and then have no place to take and extrapolate (wrong word, me thinks!~;)) / exfoliate (warm. . . Warmer? . . . Disco!) :) / or "expunge," them ~the(se) bad feelings (& things- as such!) on / or of, Your Own.?!!!?. ;^) Capisce_^~*> :D _ja ja^qui~qui?.?-si! si! ;)

Thanks for opening the cafe @JMG and also for the tag *hug

1. What is one of your fave things about nature? Being able to sit watch the world go by when the weather is just how Goldilocks liked it. The natural beauty we have amongst us is always just as beautiful as what people will travel hundreds of miles on a plane to see.
2. What is one of your least fave things about nature? Not a fan of heavy rain. At all. :D
3. What is your fave season? Depends what on really? I'm usually a garlic and herb sort of man but it depends on the food really. Autumn:D
4. What is your least fave season? Probably winter because England never has a "nice" winter, just a constant irritation that some prick has opened all the windows in the house after you've got out the shower.
