I left SF because I was drinking on the weekends, and I didn't want to subject you guys to a weekly drunk. I'm still struggling

No worries 😉! And good 😌 luck with the struggle/battle - (that is not an easy beast to tame, what I understand. . .)_ I’ve heard some say it’s “A.A.,” others “one-day/minute/moment @ a time!” ... among other things ( : Wishing you all the best! And appreciate the sacrifice; only hope it wasn’t too hard on you—

Happy birthday to all whose birthday it is today. Hope you have a lovely day.

I’m hoping to catch up on sleep this weekend as well as catching up with housework. By the end of Sunday there will only be 3 of us left as both daughters will have left and gone to uni. The house is going to feel very quiet.

Thanks for the tag! I love the cafe!
Air quality was improving by leaps and bounds, then the number went back up in the night. :/ Anxious about our trip to the coast being mucked up, but we just gotta keep moving and hope.
Just headed out to earn money today and tomorrow and hopefully that part for our generator is in and we can head west!

I've been trying to figure out what me issue should be labelled. I don't think I'm officially an alcoholic, because I only need to drink on the weekends. So, I have a drinking problem, I guess.

Well, as I’ve always understood it—& I’m far from an authoritative figure on the matter! But with those who have troubles with “The Bottle,” it’s not so much about how often you do it - but more what happens to you when you do it... So, you could drink recreationally, casually—say several times a week; & let’s just for the sake of argument, that what it takes out of you is something like a ‘3,’ on a 1-10 scale. Or you could drink several times a month, and let’s say does more like a ‘9.’ Which one is worse? I suppose it could be argued . . . But I think that only you can say, for sure (it doesn’t always have to be the one who drinks themselves to sleep, only to again begin repeating the process upon awakening). How much it’s taking out of you / what it’s doing to you (how much of yourself are you losing, each and every time you do; & not in a good way. . . How long does it take to recover — & sometimes, at worst, the answer can be, “Well, almost never completely... if I’m being totally honest!”). Etc. And then there is the whole thing that takes place in one’s brain, when in this position. Both in terms of what’s going on - I don’t know if it’s neurologically, or physiologically; but I think you know what I mean; there’s that aspect, and then there is the whole reasoning / rationale / debate-logic side of it; that keeps the drink at hand. Most people, when they go to rehab for any drug addiction, it is pretty rare that you just go one time -& you’re good to go! I think it’s usually closer to multiple trips, with good faith effort, in order to on average, achieve or attain any sustained period of sobriety or recovery. I guess that that’s how hard it is... : ) but maybe you don’t fall into any of these pictures with which I’ve described? And it’s not on you to point out which one’s, if any, that you do— just some food for thought, in the event that there was so much as maybe one, or possibly even two things, in there - somewhere - that you hadn’t thought of before.
