What's really odd (at least I think so) is that I live in the most expensive county in the entire state yet our gas is lower than downtown

Actually, come to think of it, gas stations get held up a lot, so it could be that better policing could reduce the crime rate, so maybe that's why a more expensive area would have lower prices.

This is making me wonder what the official story is on what drives gas prices now...

The crime rate has gone up here, especially within the past couple years because sadly heroine is now in my area. It's quickly becoming a huge issue. That aside, the crime rate is really low. That damn drug is raising it.

Huge issue across the USA. I saw a news report that said that in Youngstown, OH, they have a hard time filling jobs for welders, because so few applicants can pass a drug test.

I totally believe that. It's a particularly massive problem in OH. They're reporting a crazy high number of drug related deaths in that state. My dad used to live in OH (I never have), and I can see why it's such a huge problem there.

I wish I was a hedgehog...would make curling up into a ball and hiding from the world sooo much easier @may71 and @Winter Blues .

I'll let you know may71 when I have exhausted my supply of hogs, it's a big box, but it won't be anytime soon.
