Welcome to the Cafe!

Its turning Fall here and I am glad for it, this last Sumer was brutal in Texas.

How do you feel about hot chocolate? I found this simple recipe that is wonderful.
1 cup of milk (I used whole milk)
1 tablespoon of cocoa
1 tablespoon of granulated sugar
2 drops of vanilla
Whisk all together over medium heat and then the secret ingredient!
1 tablespoon of semisweet chocolate chips!
be sure the chips fully melt before removing from heat

This stuff is seriously good!

What kind of hot drink do you like for the colder weather?

Oh, that sounds ravenous, Angie! ;D I do love it, and don't know why I don't have it more often~?* ;)
...it's funny, b/c generally when at a coffee house w/some-one who doesn't drink, nor like coffee (that's what I typically will recommend!). :)
I remember, as a child, just pooring the hersey's syrup(?) straight into the milk glass... "indefinitely," shall-we-say? :D
Fortunately, for how 'settled,' a kid I was... it had virtually, No effect~! (^: heh_heh_heh

Thanks for the tag, @Angie.

I drink at least one hot chocolate a day :) I don't make my own however, I buy from the supermarket. Summer down here is shaping up to be very hot. There are already bushfires everywhere. Don't you get snow in Texas? I think I saw that somewhere. I'm not too fond of summer. Autumn and spring are the best parts of the year for me.

Happy Friday everyone :)

I drink a lot of coffee which is something I really do need to cut down on as despite not drinking it after 5pm, my sleep is terrible.

I do love hot chocolate (your recipe sounds great @Angie!), if I'm feeling decadent I'll even put a glug of Bailey's in. I also love a chai latte or a Horlicks (is that just a British thing or do you get it elsewhere?)

Actually we do get snow and ice in Texas. Usually more ice than snow. That pretty much happens in January and February.

I own a velvetiser so its sorta ruined hot chocolate for me.

How mine go:

1) Chop an entire Orange Yorkie into thin slices (the thinner the better)
2) Add some milk, any will do, but Alpro Vanilla Oat milk rocks for any vegans out there.
3) Put both into a velvetiser and run it.

Hot chocolate never tastes better than when chocolate is the main ingredient ^^ Though finding the right chocolate is essential. Cocoba chocolate is good, but strangely Orange Yorkie hits the spot.

Happy Friday folks. I do like hot chocolate at times when it chills down good low. But admit to being on the lazy side on the making it from scratch. Oddly for it to be chilly for the last few days the temps are going back up to the 70s soon.

well thank you Angie. I'm on vaca in San Fran right now but this is the perfect time for a cup and this recipe most definitely hits the spot. I've been a hot chocolate fan all my life and the semisweet really does the trick😻. now, do you have a recipe for a blizzard? nothing extreme 23 inches or more will do, and I'll just stay inside with my cocoa until spring. 👽
