Happy Mothers Day to all who are mothers and mother wanna be's. I was a wanna be until a unexplained happening and I became a mother. My ex was never happy about being a father until my daughter grew up and moved on her own. I always wanted a second child but he didn't want to put me through the miscarriages and really didn't want the responsibility.

My mother had depression and we often clashed until I moved out of the house and she got on anti-depressents after I moved out. Then we got along. She had had a tough life being an child orphan during the Great depression in the uSA and a veteran of WWII (army nurse).

Anyway I'm just starting a Cafe.

Had a bit of a hiccup when some random woman called me ignorant today in town . Apart from that was alright, we did groceries, I bought a cup of roobois tea as a treat, I bought a nice bday card for mummy, I got some more herbal teas, I ate pizza when I stopped by at houseshare and conversed with my housemate for ten seconds which was nice. I don't really have friends so I get quite lonely and it's nice to talk to someone external.

Not sure what the plan is tomorrow, I'll get up in the morning and see where the day takes me ....

PS. Oh! And I got the local town bus today for the first time! I'm very proud of myself because I was a little scared trying something different. But it was okay! And now I've done it

My mom died 39 years ago on May 6th. Her mom actually died on Mother's Day. I still miss her. I will always miss her. I will always regret not spending more time with her. So all you children (young and old) please do your best to spend time with your mom.

I miss my mother sometimes. Especially on mothers day. She was really bad to me but she's still my mother. I wonder if she's still thinking about me.

Peace and a happy weekend to everyone. What is everyone snacking on today? Tomorrow I'm making a chocolate mousse for myself as a treat. My weekend is going better than I expected; mood is less dark, for which I am grateful. It had been quite bad. Got a few chores done.

My mother is no longer among the living. She and I had a troubled relationship, but there was an unspoken love underneath the mutual disappointment. She helped me out several times when I had kinda painted myself into a corner, or was stuck somewhere with no money, etc. Thanks mom.🩷

I'm a single mama to 2, who are big grown up people, & in my humble opinion they're amazing. lol I can't help it. 🤭

So far it has been a pretty lazy and relaxed day today with me doing not much except enjoying the four day weekend here. So far pretty good, the weather has been chilly mornings and warm afternoons, windy and often rainy here for the past week.

my first baby is on her way to another state to live 26 hours away. She took my 2 grandbabies with her of course as they are why she is a mom. i have heard from my 2nd born today... wanting a loan. i haven't heard from my baby girl in a while other then to ask for some recipe advice. Here i sit... in a place where i am trying to learn how to overcome my ed, sh, si, and depression.

I think there can be times when a relationship with someone is so bad, it's better to stay away. So for example, trying to rekindle a relationship with an abuser may simply invite them to abuse more.

I don't know what your relationship with your mom was like, or if it would actually be a good idea to try to connect with her again, but if you did want to do that, today would be a good day for it.

Mother's Day is my least happy holiday. Too many reasons for me to get into in a Cafe.

I wish all the mothers who are celebrating a joyful day and for those who are sad for whatever reason, I wish the day to pass quickly.

I have four children and so far two have wished me a Happy Mother's Day. I'm hoping that my eldest daughter reaches out to me maybe with some pics of my grandson, whom I've not met yet. Today, I'm away with my fiance and we're going to the National Zoo in Washington DC.

I think of my mother that raised me, she only had a 6th grade education as the eldest during the Depression. She raised me with love and always the comforts of home, I regret making her life difficult as a teenager. I love you in Heaven Catherine.

Thanks for opening @cymbele and the tag @seabird. I too wish all the best for Mother's Day...whether a mom of a 2 legged, 4 legged, fin...etc. And know relationships with mothers can be fraught with so much...so I too send peaceful thoughts to you.

I too miss my mom who suffered from early onset dementia beginning when I was in high school...and I miss my mother-in-law who I had the privilege of getting to know and spend significant time with the last 20+ years of her life (she lived to 107). Feel very fortunate to have had them both in my life one as a child/young adult and one as an adult/senior.

I've never had children but my husband was sweet and sent me a card from our puppy--Brinny...which admit though probably silly was so appreciated given the 5:30am wake up bark this am.

I’m not a mother, and it is unlikely I ever will be (mostly by choice) but I love my mom very much and I’ve always given her cards and gifts on mother’s day since I was a kid (well as a kid it was cards at least lol). Since I was a teen I’ve given her both a card and some kind of gift.

This year I gave my mom a card, some body wash she likes, soap, a lotto ticket, a high quality chocolate bar and a candle. I put most of the things into a pretty flower printed box that doubles as a nice storage box. She loved it all a lot so I’m very happy about that

Happy (belated, sorry for that, very busy weekend) Mother’s Day to all the mothers in the world, hope it was a good one for you, and sending big hugs to any mothers (or anyone else) who are wanting them.
