Yeah, it still notifies people even if it's a partial quote of their post. That all gets determined by the stuff in the initial QUOTE [ ] brackets. You can even change whether or not the quote notifies the person or states who first said it by altering that stuff.
So for instance by removing the rest of it, i can quote you like this:

Can you see that I quoted your post?

The way to tell someone has been notified is that so long as your post's quote has the header "(whichever member) said:", then they'll get the alert.

I love Willem Dafoe as the Green Goblin, and I love Willem Dafoe in general lol, he’s an amazing actor.

He's my favorite actor as well...his work in Shadow of the Vampire is unearthly, literally.

He’s amazing in “The Lighthouse”with Robert Pattinson, I think they bounced off each other perfectly in that film because the film itself is rather slow burning with a rather ambiguous ending but those two actors were just perfect at portraying this tense and (almost) homoerotic relationship on screen. I even love him in “Finding Nemo” and he was only voice acting in that lol

Ooh, i'd actually put this one on my Netflix list and had been thinking about watching it soon, but this has sold me that i need to make it a priority to watch, because it sounds really interesting. And the homoerotic undertones sound like quite the cherry on top.

No, US resident since birth. If I wasn't a parent of a teenager, and if I thought I would qualify, I'd move to Canada in an instant. Yellowknife would be my first pick!

2. Are you glad it will be Spring soon?

I'm pretty neutral about spring, as far as the seasons go. I just wish we could skip summer and go straight to autumn

3. How are you today?

I was feeling a little depressed this morning, but my mood has lifted a bit. I've been embracing Stoicism and trying to incorporate daily practices into my routine, i.e. deep work, journaling, reading an hour every morning.

4. What's one of the last things you bought?

Here's my answers to the ones you asked

1. What is a lungi?
A sarong skirt for men

No to both, would maybe wear a women's sarong though.

Sarong, burqa/chadaree/paranja/boshiya (all basically the same thing just called diff. things in diff. countries and no I did not "think of these" so much as "do a google search for them" but whatever lol), dirndl, gho, kabney, tapis, kanga, there's lots lol.

Here's my answers to the q's I added too lol :p

9. Yes, I love reading. Some of my fave genres of fiction are mystery, suspense, psychological thriller and some fantasy as long as it's not dumb or annoying (has to be well written and at least somewhat interesting without being too confusing basically lol). I enjoy non-fiction as well especially in the self-help area or autobiographies.

10. Yup I will be wearing something green tomorrow for St.Patty's day

11. No I'm not wearing anything green right now lol.

12. Some things I'd want to buy would be some cool shirts I like from Red Bubble, a pair of docs (been wanting a pair for years lol), the complete box set of "Friends", the other 8 books from the graphic novel series I like, some other DVD's and I dunno what else but I'd try to plan it as carefully as I could lol.

13. Some of my fave things to talk about are anything to do with theories about why things are as they are (meaning on a much deeper level rather than just the surface level kinds of reasons), other philosophical discussions about life, cats, art and positive, uplifting kinds of conversation. I am ok with gossip too but I try not to do that. The more positive karma I can have in my life, esp. right now, the better.
