I've been standing at the doors waiting for the cafe to open but everyone must be busy, so I found the spare key, I've switched on the coffee machines and the tea is brewing.

No exotic locations today, just somewhere relaxing to sit and chat with friends

Just be careful with your coffee if you're going to chill out in a hammock- I don't want any accidents!

So, topic for today, I'd like to take up a new hobby to keep my mind occupied, but I don't know what hobby that should be. Any suggestions? What do you do in your spare time?

Speaking of hobbies, I just ordered a coloring Bible, with line art to color as well as a book with stickers and lessons on calligraphy. A neat way to color and make my faith stronger. But coloring doesn't have to be about faith. I have a bunch of coloring books, and markers and gel pens, even crayons. Its also been proven coloring is a definite answer to depression as in it helps release some good things in your brain when you do art.

I also crochet, I find it soothing. Thinking about taking on a sweater, which is a big step, I found a pattern, but the yarn called for will cost $50 and I just spent my allowance on new Bibles - oops. I have yarn to do many other projects though, never fear.

Thanks for a neat topic @Woowoo I look forward to the hobbies of others.

My spare time I just waste on my brain these days but I bet you are asking what I'd prefer to do in my spare time. In that case here is one very unlikely one for me but I think it's a good hobby: stamp collecting. You know it may be questionable how much longer stamps will even be in use. So they really seem worth collecting. But here is a hobby I'd do if I had time for it: cooking. And one I already do: writing poetry and prose. So these are my suggestions. I hope you like em.

I don't know if this counts as a hobby, but I plan to try to get back into volunteering now that I'm on break and have way too much time on my hands. Definitely back to the library, and maybe I'll try to get in contact with the animal shelter again. I already finished the preliminary training; they just stopped responding to me on multiple occasions, so I kind of gave up for a while.

I used to collect stamps when I was a little girl. I've still got them all but I haven't looked at them for years. I used to enjoy cooking too, but it sometimes seems a bit pointless for one. I should get back into it though- I need to start taking better care of myself and eating more healthily. I've never tried writing poetry or anything, but I guess it's a good way of expressing emotion. I might give it a try.

Thanks for the suggestions :)

Volunteering is a great thing to do in your spare time I think baywasp.

Hobbies ... yeah I really need to get some of those. I'm trying to get back into art. I used to really enjoy it and then stopped doing anything with it. Not sure what that was about. I'm going to try and get back into my art projects. I think art is a good hobby for someone with depression. It allows expression. I also write poems or at least something that resembles them.
