I like the mornings better, or I used to.

My sleep is wonky these days and I find myself sleeping pretty early in the evenings and waking up around 1 or 2 am. I seem to get some of my best work done then!

So I am a weird combination of both early bird and night owl!

Hello SF family! I hope Monday finds you as well as you can be.

Are you a morning person or a night owl? (some are a combination of both!)
Hey Angie, thanks so much for opening a cafe for today. I’m pretty good, hope you’re well too. Also, I can relate to what you said about wonky sleep. I woke up around 4:30am this morn after going to bed by around 8:30 or 9pm last night. Been trying to straighten it out for weeks now, not an easy thing to do.

Anyway, love the theme/question. I think I am more of a night owl. My fave hours to be awake seem to be from midnight til 6 or 7 in the morn. The very hours most people are “sleeping”, ya maybe it’s kinda backwards but that’s me I guess lol :p

Uhhh....
That's a complicated one.

I used to just be all over the place. I used to sort of cycle around the clock, going to bed and waking up later than the day before, by a variable degree. And i'd just sort of gradually work my way around the clock until i ended up back where i started. So i was neither really.

But a few months ago, i tried to fix that and become a morning person. I'd like to think i've largely succeeded at that, although every so often my body will go "No you bloody well haven't, mate." :D
I've certainly managed to wake up at a reasonably early hour every morning since, so i'll take the victory and go with morning person as my answer.

Thanks for the tag @JMG
I don't like mornings much. I struggle to get up early and generally only want to get up to watch Spurs matches. The one this past Saturday was at 7:30 AM my time zone, and I had to wake up at about 5:45 to get to the pub to watch it. But I had trouble getting up when I used to have to go to work early. My first month or two at my job, they had me scheduled to start at like 6 AM. I had to wake up way earlier because the bus took forever, to the extent that there weren't even any buses early enough to get me there on weekends so I had to do Uber/Lyft. I almost got fired after dozing off at work multiple times. But then we figured out that those day shifts weren't really working for me, so I switched to evenings and some overnights. Most of the time I work 1-11p or 9p-7a. But my schedule is kinda all over the place right now with work, school, and appointments.

Definitely not a morning person. I get super cranky in the morning lol. Unless there were some rare times where my sleeping patterns were really good. I automatically got up in the morning and not feel horrible. But I haven't experienced that in a long time. The last time was in 2020 I think.

So, to answer your question, I am more of a night owl.

Thank you for the tag @JMG @Lane

I have always been a morning girl.
But I am now understanding people who love the night hours...being out walking or bike riding at 4 or 5 in the morning under the night sky in the darkness and quiet has become one of my favorite times. So I don't know if that counts as including sometimes being a night person since technically it's probably considered daytime/morning.

I think the line would more like 3 am.

My roommate in college would say "3 am is either very early or very late" so I think that makes it sorta the event horizon in this case.

By far I am more of a night and dark environment person. I have always adjusted better and quicker when doing that type of timing. Although I admit as I get older late to me is more of a 9:00 to 10:00 pm time as opposed to when I was younger. Me and mornings typically do not get along well. LOL
