  • If You Could Time Travel, When Would You Go?
  • The future. Not too far though.
  • What Was Your Favorite Toy Growing Up?
  • I had a stuffed toy of Stitch from Lilo and Stitch that I really loved.
  • Which Of Your Friends Are You Proudest Of? Why?
  • My best friend Kayla because she's found her passion in teaching. She wasn't sure what she wanted to do for a while. She's about to graduate with her master's in some field of education in August. Also my sister, who hopes to defend her dissertation for her PhD in toxicology this fall.
  • Where’s The Most Beautiful Place You’ve Ever Been?
  • The Alps (France and Switzerland)
  • Which Would Be Harder For You To Give Up: Coffee Or Alcohol?
  • Neither would be too hard I don't think, but I enjoy coffee more. Especially lattes and mochas.
  • What Is Your Favorite Wikipedia Article?
  • I don't have one but here's the article I got when I clicked for a random article: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Israel_men's_national_basketball_team I do remember for a while the article for Bhutanese passport had a funny voice recording, but the recording has since been deleted and the voice recording is now boring.

If I could time travel, I would go 1,000 years into the future and see what kind of superpowers humans have then.

Give up coffee or alcohol?

Oh, I could never give up coffee. I don't drink alcohol. Maybe I could time travel into the future and ask for advice on how to quit coffee. :D*hysterical

Places I've been to? Michoacan, Mexico.

Favorite Wikipedia article? It's probably a UFO-related article!!

I'm gonna have the most boring answers for these but sure, let's go.

If You Could Time Travel, When Would You Go?
I think I'd had to the future and check out what's gonna happen. Let's head forward ten years.

What Was Your Favorite Toy Growing Up?
Probably Legos? I'm not sure. I played with those an awful lot though for a very long time.

Which Of Your Friends Are You Proudest Of? Why?
Well let's start with I don't have too many actual friends. I've got a load of people in friendly with but are they upset if I'm gone? Eh. Idk. Anyway enough about that.
I don't want to pinpoint people but I am really proud of a few people here at SF right now. Two for quitting smoking - which we all know is really tough @Nick and @Sunspots and they're both far enough in that I feel like calling them out on it is ok now.
And another for the huge steps she's taken in the last long while on getting control of life in general. Learning about herself and gaining coping skills @Witty_Sarcasm If you were to look back at where she's come from, this member has made huge strides in becoming a real winner in what SF is meant to be.
There are others too honestly but I can't write a book here. :)

Where’s The Most Beautiful Place You’ve Ever Been?
I have liked two places a lot. I loved the waters of the Caribbean. Deep blue water that you could see the ocean floor and the sea creatures swimming in. You could see your feet where you stood and all the fish swimming around them. It was amazing.

But I also really loved England. For more than my lovely wife :) It's really picturesque there. There are actually rolling green hills just like the photos, with stone walls and sheep on the side. There are tree lined drives for miles and cobbly paths (made to kill me I suspect) from before my country even existed. Castles in various stages of beauty or ruins but all with amazing historical value. What's not to love?

Which Would Be Harder For You To Give Up: Coffee Or Alcohol?
I don't drink alcohol but very rarely so clearly that's what I'm giving up here.

What Is Your Favorite Wikipedia Article?
I have one. I didn't even know someone might have one. Who's got a favorite wiki?? 👀

thank you for opening the cafe @BlackOpium and inviting me @Witty_Sarcasm .

1. time travel : i would want to go into the future as far as possible in 10 year increments. i know that eventually mankind will turn out good, peaceful and compassionate to each other, with no hunger or strife. it may take many bad wars etc. but mankind will go forward someday. and if i could restore my body to 20 yo again after seeing the future i'd settle in the late 1800s forever. i'd see all the new cars being invented.

2. favorite toy : my matchbox cars. i loved anything to do with cars

3. friends proud of and why : @BlackOpium has such a good soul and i'm so proud of her for all she does in SF and is a true friend, a friend that has been strong for herself and others. someday i'll be like her.

4. beautiful place : parts of cuba

5. coffee or alcohol : well i hardly ever drink so i'd give up that. no way will they get my coffee.

hugs for all that want one. *grouphug2*grouphug2*hug*hug*hug10

Hey all of you awesome SF people, hope you're all having as good a day as possible right now. *grouphug2
Some really engaging questions today, so why not, i'll give these a go. Thanks for opening @BlackOpium. *hug

If You Could Time Travel, When Would You Go?
I know everyone has basically already said this, but yeah, i'd probably go about 200 years forward myself, mainly to see if humanity is still kicking, because i reckon if we can make it that far, our ability to colonise other planets along with other advances mean that humanity's survival is basically guaranteed for the rest of time.

What Was Your Favorite Toy Growing Up?
Ooh, i actually have a really good one for this. I remember playing a tonne with these little medieval armies, all on this awesome little wooden castle with a lowerable drawbridge, which my dad made himself then gave to my sister Linda, who then passed it on to me. So it had a lot of sentimnental value.
That or my stuffed cows. My parents saw a bunch of them on sale for like 50p each, so they bought like 12. And they had these gorgeous silk collars that because i've always had a fascination with the feel of silk, i would constantly wear out. So every so often they'd just replace my current cow with a new one. For years i genuinely believed i had a stuffed cow with the ability to magically change its collar. :D

Which Of Your Friends Are You Proudest Of? Why?
Ok, i know this one is slightly dicey to answer, so i'll say this. Because i'm the kind of person who genuinely likes to see the good in others, i'm proud in some way of pretty much everyone i know. And there are definitely a fair few who i can say i'm especially proud of. But out of everyone, i'd say i'm most proud of my best friend. That guy is nailing his degree, producing awesome stuff in his spare time, working crazy hard, and responding to the negative things in his life like an absolute champ.

Where’s The Most Beautiful Place You’ve Ever Been?
Oh, my dad's place, no doubt. A gorgeous grassy valley full of sheep and birds. And the stars at night are breathtaking.

Which Would Be Harder For You To Give Up: Coffee Or Alcohol?
Oh, definitely coffee. I only drink alcohol every once in a while, whereas i need to coffee to, like, exist. :D

What Is Your Favorite Wikipedia Article?
Absolutely has to be this: https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/hippopotomonstrosesquipedaliophobia
Hippopotomonstrosesquipedaliophobia
Noun - the fear of long words
Best word in the English language, hence best Wiki article. :D

Thanks for getting the cafe started @BlackOpium

If You Could Time Travel, When Would You Go?
My brain is thinking there are far too many variables here.
If I go to the past, do I remember the future? Can I change the past? Am I only able to observe the past? If I can change things what effect does that have on the future?
For the future, do I want to know what it holds? Will knowing the outcome change the journey? Will any of the things I hope for come to pass? Will I lose all hope if they don't? Can I change the future from the past? Does that create some kind of timeline issue?
Maybe I shouldn't time travel.

What Was Your Favorite Toy Growing Up?
My I was fan of my cars and car mat (which was really a piece of fabric with a road printed on it, but shhhhh).

Which Of Your Friends Are You Proudest Of? Why?
I don't have a whole lot of people who I'd consider friends. I'm proud of all of them for getting up each day and continuing to move forward despite difficult circumstances. Well, I mean getting up might mean getting a drink and going to the bathroom, but we're going to count it.

Where’s The Most Beautiful Place You’ve Ever Been?
Artist Point in Washington State - the point itself and many of the sights along the way

Which Would Be Harder For You To Give Up: Coffee Or Alcohol?
I rarely drink these days. I've had the same bottles in the fridge for awhile now. Saving them for, eh who knows. Don't touch my coffee!!!! I'd dump the alcohol in a moment.

What Is Your Favorite Wikipedia Article?
Um ... I don't have one? I'm an information snob.

  • If You Could Time Travel, When Would You Go? The past to check out things still unproven, plus the future I figure is pretty bleak if the present is any indication.

  • What Was Your Favorite Toy Growing Up? <mod edit: inappropriate> Serious answer is not so much a toy as a game. Dominoes, whether straight dominoes, 42 or Moon. The only thing with 42 is you have to have 4 players and partner up, it is considered the state game of Texas and has been called bridge played with dominoes.

  • Which Of Your Friends Are You Proudest Of? Why? What are friends? The closest to the description was one of the gals I went to junior college with. We kept in touch for a while before we both decided that although we liked each other we would never be really a part of each others's lives so parted ways. I got a better job as in the position I got with my first job. She got the better employer with a better possible future hired at the local university here where she could attend and get her bachelors degree free of charge, about 10 years after we graduated she was hired to be one of the department heads in the IT department of the college. I was pleased she lucked on getting hired and proud that she busted her ass to earn what she has.

  • Where’s The Most Beautiful Place You’ve Ever Been? Probably Minnesota when I was sent for classes from work on a new system. In this part of Texas we don't get snow we getting muddy slush that lasts perhaps a day or two. In Minnesota I arrived in March so still Winter and it was like White Christmas the entire time I was there. I also learned that although you have to be careful driving on snow it is much less dangerous and stressful than driving on ice, sleet, etc which is what we typically get during a Winter storm.

  • Which Would Be Harder For You To Give Up: Coffee Or Alcohol? Neither for me, it would be iced tea unsweetened. Never cared for coffee, I don't care for hot drinks. Alcohol is a time to time treat being diabetic.

  • What Is Your Favorite Wikipedia Article? Movies by year. I can make me nostalgic to think about one I actually saw in the theater. I recently rewatched Back to the Future. Saw it in the theater shortly after starting my first real job/job in my career in 1985 when I was 22 with my life and future ahead of me. Sometimes I will check out movies from the 1970s, early 70s mid 70s and to just see how many movies my mom took me and my brother to see out and she on a tight budget and a person never made more than about 10 dollars an hour by the time she quit working in 1994, imagine the inflation rate. A pleasant thought of what she gave us, but as I get older I wish I could have told her how much she meant and thankful I was for what we were given. I think that is a thought many with a good parent or parents have. My dad died in 1972 just over a week before my 9th birthday so mom was all my brother and I had other than grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins.

  • I would not want to time travel; I would stay where I am, I am happiest I have been in my life right now.

  • What Was Your Favorite Toy Growing Up?
  • I had a Tootsietoy jeep, one of the only two Christmas presents I ever got. I have one like it now setting on my shelf.

  • Which Of Your Friends Are You Proudest Of? Why?

  • The Holy Waters on the AuSable River just east of Grayling in northern Michigan.

  • Which Would Be Harder For You To Give Up: Coffee Or Alcohol?
