Tysm for posting a cafe for today Angie, and for tagging me too :) I’m pretty good thanks, hope you’re well too and enjoying your weekend.

What would you put on your ultimate sandwich?

It is a holiday weekend in the US, do you have plans?
My ultimate sandwich would have bacon, 2 layers of ham, lettuce, tomato and cheese. Only mayo for the condiment.

I don’t live in the US so it’s not a holiday weekend for me, we had a holiday last week though. Don’t have much planned other than going to the library and getting some groceries, but at least the weather is supposed to be nice. Happy Memorial day to those who live in the US though. :)

Thanks to @Angie for opening and tagging me. *hug

Ooh, you ask a hard question there. I could rattle off several recipes i especially love, but the ultimate sandwich is an elusive beast. I've always wanted to try a Philly cheesesteak, and that has the potential to be my ultimate sandwich.

Or if you're willing to be very liberal with the definition of a sandwich, there was a Turkish kebab place near me in Accrington that did this chicken, lamb and doner kebab that was genuinely one of the best things i've ever tasted. I was a total addict to those things. They're actually one of the bits i miss most about living there.

Yeah, it's actually a bank holiday over here in the UK too. No special plans though, just enjoying having that extra day of peace before it's back to dealing with the DWP.

I don't have a particular sandwich in mind. There is a chain called Jersey Mike's and my fav sandwiches there are between the Italian and the Philly Chicken sandwich.

It's still chilly here in the Northeast USA so windows are still closed. I've got to paint a doorway (it's been waiting since last August). Maybe some wood working but generally a relaxing day. Tomorrow it's supposed to sunny and in the 70's so am attempting a kayak trip although the water is still cold. I doubt I'll get to "celebrate" or appreciate Memorial Day but I do appreciate the country in which I live.

When I was a kid I liked smoked pork meat with cheese on my sandwich. Nowdays I really don't know what I would put on really.

Maybe requeijão with pork meat or something like that.

Not american, but I don't really have any plans today except thinking about my plans.

I love sandwiches - has to be a fresh home baked sourdough bread (with white flour and a little spelt). A good butter spread, and a good filling. I like many different sandwiches, here are a few:

Mature cheddar cheese with tomato and mayo.
Haddock fish fingers with mayo.
Smoked ham and mature cheese with coleslaw.
And last but not least, the classic smoked bacon and fried egg.

It's bank holiday in the UK but I am still in work tomorrow.

Hello SF family, I hope this finds you well.

i don't eat sandwiches much anymore, but my mom did order some subs the other day for us to eat, so I will share that. I went for a simple BLT and had some cucumbers added and a couple of banana peppers. (Was a risky choice to have the peppers with my queasy stomach lately but I love them on any sandwich and they gave me just a few of them, so it was perfect).

Thank you for the tag.

SPAM sandwiches have always been a favorite, sliced thing and fried to a good crispiness with that distinctive fried SPAM crust on the meat. For the typical sandwich meat types pastrami and/or corned beef with Swiss cheese on rye bread is great. No plans made or done here for the holiday other than relax and watch the rain that has been coming down. :)
