Hi all -
I'm gonna fly open the doors early today since they were chained up yesterday.

I hope you all like some classic rock cause that's what we're jammin' unless I fall asleep and you get the remote to the stereo from me. Pink Floyd, Dylan, the Beatles, Zeppelin, Eagles, Skynyrd, The Doors, GNR, Whitesnake, maybe some Dead. We'll see what happens... I can be swayed.

Challenge? I can never think of anything for this, which is why I don't open even when I see it's closed up here.
Eat well today. Take a vitamin. Either/or! But feed yourself well. Be kind to yourself.

Well shit, I'm not changing the music :P Sounds right up my alley, maybe throw some funk in for good measure.
Okay, I will try to eat well, even though bad foods still sneak into my diet  I should take vitamins, they might help me feel better. And I try to be kind to myself, it is a challenge, but I am working on it. Have a good day all!

Vitamins make me feel pretty good too. I do take them though! One a day - mini, which I'm supposed to take two of, but come on... I'm lucky to take one. They're pretty great though, I'll tell ya. I've never found any vitamin as good as these. They have the vaguest flavor of vanilla coating on them. Lasts long enough to get it down, that's for sure. I've got severe calcium deficiency so I've gotta take something - I work nights and avoid the daylight as much as possible so no Vit D that way.

Clearly no one wants to come along and change the date of this thread to Thursday so this is going to just completely mind-f**k everyone who shows up for the next few hours til they do it hahahha I work nights - that's my excuse. That's all I've got. I never know what day of the week it is.

heyyyy
it's about 5:20 am now. No idea why I'm awake already. I have some stuff going on later, but not for 5 more hours. I'm meeting with my service coordinator at the McDonald's near my house. It's conveniently close; I don't even have to take the bus. Then later I'm taking a tour of the local Clubhouse and seeing if I want to join (I'll link some information here because I assume a lot of people don't know about it, like I didn't.) I don't have a set appointment for that. I just called in to tell them I'd be coming to visit some time after 11. It's right downtown, too. Really easy to get to. Plus some time I have to call the pulmonary specialist my doctor referred me too because I've had a cough since around the beginning of the year and even the meds I got for bronchitis in the ER last month didn't make it go away. I'm not sure when they're gonna be able to fit me in, and I'll have to see if I'll have a copay or not because I'm perpetually broke.
I'll probably check in again later if I think of stuff to say.
I don't actually have any vitamins right now, and there's no guarantees on the eating well, but I'll try. My roommate could facilitate that by cooking me dinner if he's able. We have this steak in the freezer he's been talking about grilling for me. He doesn't really eat meat, so there's no risk of him taking it for himself.

Hey @baywasp I imagine you got a steroid for your bronchitis (which you should've taken!) so if that's not doing anything for you then you should be seen again. Have you tried your regular doc yet? It could be asthma symptoms too, since it's gone on this long. I think you gotta make room for the cash for that one way or another. Adulting sucks, I know.
Get that steak out of the freezer and it'll be all defrosted for dinner tonight. Make some veggies on the side. That definitely meets the challenge qualifications. ;)
What're you meeting all these people about today? Jobs?

I've been thinking bout getting Magnesium pills. They help relax the muscles and promote sleep. I've been relying on Camomile tea for now and I still have trouble falling asleep.

Yeah, I got some prednisone. They gave me it for 5 days and thought that should help clear it up, along with an antibiotic and an albuterol inhaler. I finished the prednisone and antibiotic, but I still use the inhaler sometimes. The weird thing is it seems to get worse and better at varying times.

I think I kinda need to focus on getting better before I can start looking at jobs. The first appointment is just to check in with my service coordinator and see if there's anything she can help me with right now. I'm thinking of talking to her about volunteer opportunities and if she thinks me trying to do some of that would impact my SSI. I've heard some people say they lost their SSI because of volunteer work :(
The second one I linked an explanation, but maybe you didn't see it. The one thing I hate about this site is how links are not obvious unless you hover over them. But the word "here" in my post links to the website of the Pennsylvania Clubhouse Coalition, where it explains what a Clubhouse is. I'm bad at explaining things sometimes, so it'd probably be better to just click the link if you can.

Hey everyone!

It's pretty quiet in here today... well except for @walkerbait95 's music. I'm enjoying it expect he didn't have to leave it on full blast!!!

Well, I took my vitamins today. Everyday I take an Iron tablet and more recently I've started on the Vitamin D+Calcium. The tablets are lemon flavour & chewable. The normal tablets are MASSIVE and really hard to swallow! Yuck! Here's a picture of Australia's finest...

I've recently discovered how to save pictures to my phone ('cause I'm a noob) so I'll be filling the Cafe with more food and decorations from now on.

Enjoy your morning/afternoon/evening wherever you may be in the world! ox

I was totally planning on checking back in earlier today, but I've been trying to do a lot of things all at once and having trouble keeping track of everything. I met up with my service coordinator, but I was waiting for her at the McDonald's when she called me about 10 mins after we were supposed to have met to tell me she wasn't going to be able to come until about an hour later. I was kind of pissed at first, but it was okay. I decided that instead of going home less than 10 minutes away, I would just walk around the neighborhood. It's not the best or the most interesting place, but whatever. I walked near the closest library branch, thinking about how I still didn't have a Pittsburgh library card. I had thought that I needed a Pennsylvania ID or at least some proof of my address, but I figured it couldn't hurt to see if I could get one anyway. so I walked in and asked the dude what I needed to get a card, and he said I just needed a Pittsburgh address. No proof needed or anything. They even accepted my California ID. So I got a card and spent the rest of my waiting time looking around the library. I'd never bothered to go in there before. That branch was pretty small and not great, but there are better ones somewhat close to me.

I met with my service coordinator. Nothing too important. Mostly just routine checking in and stuff. After that was done I went to the Clubhouse. It seemed like a really cool place and everyone was really nice. I have an intake scheduled for next Wednesday. I was told that I am allowed to come in before my intake, but I'm pretty nervous, so I think I'll just wait til everything's taken care of. Then I went home and streamed my first Premier League game, which was awesome, even though I missed a little because of coming home late.

I even had some good dinner. My roommate didn't make me that steak yet, but his friend was still over, and she cooked chicken drumsticks with olive oil and garlic (along with some other seasonings) plus some spinach and Alfredo noodles on the side. Of course, after that I had some Four Loko, which isn't the healthiest choice, but all I had was like a third of a can. So that's fine.
