Hello SF friends, I hope this finds you well as can be.

First week of college, shew. Online classes start fast and seem relentless! I did make an A on my first World Lit assignment, was happy about that.

So, a fun one today:

What stuff do you consider essential to take with you when you leave your home?

Hey @Angie, another entertaining question. Thanks for opening the cafe and for tagging me.

What stuff do you consider essential to take with you when you leave your home?

I'm gonna sound like such a dweeb, but an inhaler, indigestion pills, a handkerchief, my wallet, my phone, a pair of wireless earphones, a backpack if i intend to buy stuff, and a book and my Steam Deck if i'm expecting to spend a lot of time waiting on things.

Phone, wallet (even if broke), headphones (because I get bored easily and have to use the restroom a lot), and a charger if it takes more than 30 minutes.

Water bottle, keys, phone (has my id n cards attached), Meds (Depending on how long i will be out and where it is i am going will determine which meds or if i even bother with them)

I basically always have my wallet with all my cards, my keys, my normal phone and my backup phone and headphones or earbuds. Most of the time I grab my big backpack when I'm leaving out, which has pens, my meds, a water bottle, a collapsible umbrella, a couple of books/journals/word searches, a few snacks, my power bank, a phone charger, and my work badge/lanyard. Probably some other junk that I forgot about shoved in there too. Then if I need it, I put my laptop in my backpack too, but at that point it's super heavy and barely fits on my lap on the bus.

Cool question. I think my answer for it is a bit boring, but I guess if nothing else it is also practical lol.
I never leave home without my purse, cos it has all the things I "need" when I am out (keys, wallet, change, ID, etc).

I always try to take water a healthy drink and snacks like a protein bar or trail mix.

and I forgot to answer my question!

I carry my purse, which has my keys, phone, wallet (id and cards, plus a bit of cash), and a few toiletries like Kleenex, lip balm, a nail file, face powder and lipstick. Does anybody but me still use face powder?

Then if I am going to an appointment where there is waiting I take a small crochet or knit project or a book, depending on what I am feeling like.

In the summer I try and carry a bottle of water, especially if I am making a road trip to the next town.

Good morning everyone (or whatever time it is for you)

My essentials are - glasses, sunglasses, wallet, keys, phone, hat/cap, water

It depends on how long I am going to be out. Always need to bring wallet, keys, cell phone, and shades if they are not in the car already.

If more than 8 hours, I am bringing lotion, ibuprofen, and water. If much longer than that, it’s travel at that point, in which I have a separate checklist.

I forgot about my handkerchiefs. On the off chance I think of it, I like to carry a clean hanky. It’s useful for many things. Often comes in handy when there’s no paper towels left in a bathroom. Also I have year round allergies, so that’s fun. I don't like to carry disposable tissues, if for no other reason than I tend to forget about them when I throw my jeans in the laundry. Forgetting about a hanky does not make any mess.

Usually I'll take keys, phone, wallet (containing cash, cards etc) plus a spare set of socks and a small cream cake.

I always carry two sets of house/car keys. That way if I lock them in the car I have another set with me.

Depends what I'm going out for. If just out casually, phone, glasses, wallet, hanky, sunglasses. If going to work add laptop and cable.

LOL I had to call roadside assistance twice in one year due to locking my keys in the car. Since then I’ve found a new car that has a smart key fob. The doors know how close the fob is. If the distance is 10 feet or more, only then do the doors lock, meaning that I don’t have to worry about it. If I drop the keys in the car while driving, I will not hear the beeping sound that says the doors are locked, and then I know I left my keys behind.

I blame it on my ADD.

Thank goodness I have a car that won't lock and yells at me (makes noise) if I leave my keys inside the car. It has saved me many many times. And I have house keys hidden outside my house

Money, Purse, Water, Calendar appointment book. Chapstick.Tea tree, lavender, lemongrass essential oils in the summer for insect repellents cuz I walk alot outside.
