Hey Folks!

You know back when Jim was posting the Cafe was used as a place to share your day and support others in their day.

So I'll go first :)

Today I need to run a couple of errands. Been putting that off. Ordered groceries to be delivered at 10am. Gonna try to make Monte Cristo sandwiches for lunch. Need to do some wash also.

Will be working on a little crochet project of a lace cross bookmark. If I can do it, I'll make them for Christmas gifts.

Also today is bingo at 2.30pm

What's on your agenda today?

I was at work from 8am - 2pm. Came home, took the pooch for a quick walk and then did my neighbours grocery shopping as he's disabled and struggles to do it.

I've got to go round to see my ex later to sort out some paperwork and then I'm going to make some sloe gin ready for next year (I've just started drinking last year's batch and it turned out great!

Then I think I'll collapse on the sofa and watch some trashy TV 😂

I woke up this morning fairly early, walked my mother to work because I hate her walking alone, then came home and spring cleaned the entire house, I polished everything, sorted everything, vaccumed and mopped all the floors and really scrubbed. Then I went into the store room, which was so filthy you needed a mask, took everything out, swept the walls the floors even the ceiling, then eventually vacuumed, cleaned everthing I took out and repacked the room it took me hours and hours (btw it was not dirty because of us, we only moved in a week ago it is how we found the room) then I came back inside and had to re clean the kitchen because my mothers boyfrined made himself food and just left it in a mess after I had scrubbed it this morning. And then I walked to get my mother from work, now taking an hour break and then I really had to send emails and do some computer work. Really looking foward to climbing into bed and reading later, I have got back into my book after a three week break.

Anycase that is my day update lol

This was a genius idea! I am in complete & total (@total eclipse ) agreement with @Bergerac - now. As for me, it's gettin' to be around High Noon 'round here. And you know what that means? It's the delightful time of the day when the sun shines through the windows and blinds me (& my screen). Yes, I could get up but the walk; the effort, the destination is not worth the journey & i am no thing if not stubborn. It said so on my - well, I guess it wasn't birth certificate, per se~? More like, whatever notes are provided upon adoption from the orphanage (why do I have a funny feeling I've mis-spelled that!). How they could tell all this from a baby, is beyond me. But then again, I'm not even sure if I've ever handled a "baby!" So an expert, I am not. (Not) in That, any~way^ Hey_;)

[break]. . . Let's all (those of us who have not left) catch our breath. Because I really don't know what's going to come next! @MentallyTired7 - Please come join us in the cafe`, if & when you can. Provided you are interested, of course. And no worries if you're not, or just to busy. Hardly a crime if you've got a life. :) Now, where was I? Ah, yes - in responding, as Jim so often did, to the rest of the peeps in the mega-threads of old (cafe`s). Hmm... let's see? "I guess we'll just see, then, won't we? You'll see if I show up when you go, if I'm (even) there... Why would you even ask me that!"

What's sloe gin, Sunspots? I typo? Seriously, I dunno... Don't shoot the messenger. Or am I - the /// Good on you for helping out your neighbor in need. I shall see to it that a place is reserved for you in Heaven. If that is what you so desire. You can count on it... & what do you mean by, "trashy tv?" Desperate House Wives? Sex & the City (really dating myself here, I know!). Reality shows? Now you've got me wondering~ // We'll return to you, later. If I can remember! j/k :D
I hope you don't collapse for good. For real, really though. Serious as a heart-attack.

And I'm sure this is all reading exactly how I'm writing, or saying! Capisce? @PrincessPure - put down the medical texts, put down the stethoscope, and come join us. If you care/dare, et cetera~! :) Good reason to give, for getting out of studying with peers. Maybe not tell them explicity what the dealio is, though. That's just my recommendation. You can do as you please. And I'm sure, and I know, that you will! ;)

I feel this is getting to lengthly. Oh, well who cares I don't come in here often. So , `O? I don't know. . . I'd had a fleeting thought; & then, POOF -(it was gone) like boom shackalacka~ that's another thing I remember about Jim. The soundtrack, you always knew who & what he was listening to 'in the rm.' Maybe I'll just cut it (or stop) it there. Because I could go all day. Though my energy is seeping *~*~* Thank you to Angie for starting/opening this thread! And what is a Monte Cristo sandwich? I can only recall the movie. (well, the poster actually - as I know accurate details are a necessity!)

Trust me, I'm a historian around this place. You ask, and you'd might as well be talking to an encyclopedia! Do you kids even know what I am talking about? Fine- neither do I! hi Hi HI - Hi Hi hi @RCee - I hope you're not still angry at me. This seems as appropriate a place as any? :) In my defense, Your Honor, You DID encourage me! I thought you'd know not to do that by now. . . BUT? _but~What!(*;

I love you always forever. Near & far, never together (oh, I can never remember the words)... Say you'll be always forever - ack! Just forget it.
Here's a better one: (more appropriate? that I could not say; or it is not for me to decide, but you - the semi conscious reader, at this point). If you're still with me? Which, you're not! So I can do whatever I waAaNnt... I can say whatever I like! I can eat my dinner in a fancy re stau ra nt... 'cuz NOTHING, nothing can take away this voice?.?.?

~'have i got that right? (how) have i forfeited the right!' / oh, Yes1 the link~

p. s. I apologize, for I can hardly write it right, let alone read, and then edit. I apologize, whole-heartedly for any disgust-taken. Know it was not in my _____(already lost the word!) / shoot! GAH- 'good bye.' : D

p. p. s. lets hope some one gets some-thing out of this, besides me! @pooky - at least He's got my back. ;) & since he's not hear to defend himself, why! ~*~*~ ay yi yi__>*\:)

post-to-the post: 'this just might be my masterpiece!' (who said that again?)? Where's P$, when you need him.

I just wanted to observe that it was awesome of you to do the grocery shopping for your neighbour and it makes me feel better about living in this world when I hear of small acts of kindness. Too often they go unappreciated and unacknowledged, especially (or so it seems to me) if the person performing the acts of kindness is female. You have inspired me to do something kind today myself - don't know yet what it will be but it will be something.

It's so nice to see a Cafe. And thank you @MisterBGone for the tag:). It's a glorious weather day here. I've been up since way too early so I've dawn walked with the stars and planets, done a little yoga and had tea, put a chicken soup together in the crock pot, went to the park and sat dogless for 1/2 an hour to ground some, taken the dogs for a late morning walk, talked with a neighbor I bumped into, mailed a birthday card, shared with some friends on fb about the world situation, made a mind bending horrid very last time ever interaction phone call with Best Buy/Geek Squad thank god:D:D, then went for a long bike ride, ate a salad and now I'm still needing to be outside so I'm going to go meditate awhile, maybe even take a nap.

I try to look after him as he was really good to mum before he got ill. He has dementia and can often knock my door a dozen times a day, generally to ask me if I can go to the shop to buy him some beer. I try to ration it or he'd be drinking it all day and I've spoken to his son about it but he doesn't seem to care. I feel desperately sorry for him but it's so difficult when he's knocking on my front door at 5am. I must admit I often don't answer the door so I try to feel less guilty by doing some shopping for him a couple of times a week!

That is difficult. Can you report to someone in authority that he needs assistance? I live in a seniors' complex (I'm 54 but many of my neighbors are 80+) and many people here have dementia or other issues and have government or charity-funded helpers who visit them a few days a week and monitor their condition. Your response jogged my memory and I do recall your stories of him knocking on your door at 5am which is certainly not a reasonable time for you to be responding to him unless it's an emergency, and I don't think you need to feel guilty about that.

I hope you know that feelings of guilt or obligation do not lessen your kind acts. A lot of people would say "not my problem" regardless of any past kindness he showed to their mum. It's obviously a better world if we all help our neighbors but we do still need boundaries and if their needs are complex it's probably a good idea for societal programs to step in.

@Sunspots your post also reminded me of times as a small child when I would carry foil-covered plates of dinner to elderly and disabled neighbours who lived alone, especially on Sundays or holidays when we had roasts. And part of it was that we kids were expected to chat with them for a few minutes as well. One sweet Scottish lady made delicious shortbread cookies for us in return. I hope that sort of thing still goes on in the world. I have chatted with a few of my current neighbours and will maybe bring them some home baking since that season is upon us now and I love baking. I've been meaning to try making cheddar scones. I use a mix of whole-grain flours combined with regular white wheat flour, to make them healthier without ruining the taste.

Okay now I'm rambling but that's what I will do today. Bake. A perfect activity for a rainy fall day.
