Hello SF family. So after learning from last Cafe, I return you to easy questions that are fun and help us to get to know each other.

Its Halloween!

Does your country celebrate? If so, how?
Will you celebrate today/night?
What's your favorite Halloween candy (for those who celebrate)?

Halloween in America has always been big, but it has changed since I was a child. In the 60s when I was young, it was safe for a child to go all over town, by themselves, to collect candy. Sadly, not so now. Now its more organizations putting on events for the kiddos. Like the downtown merchants give out candy, and the zoo puts on an event.
I don't really celebrate anymore.
Favorite candy: anything chocolate, the bigger size the better. Although I do have a weakness for the traditional candy corn one sees at Halloween here in the US.

Got no specific Halloween plans, but I'm going for dinner with a friend tonight. I grew up in a nice, safe, and fairly well-to-do neighborhood with lots of kids and great trick-or-treating, so it was always fun, but I don't do much for holidays in general anymore. One year as a kid I dressed as R2-D2 with a homemade costume; that was probably my favorite Halloween costume I ever did. There didn't seem to be too much trick-or-treating in my old neighborhoods here in the city, and my current apartment building has the outer door locked with a buzzer for each apartment so I'm not thinking anybody will be coming by.
I preferred chocolate for Halloween candy-- big fan of Reese's and Kit-Kats. But it was also fun to get bubblegum every once in a while. Like the Bubblicious kind with fun flavors and stuff

Happy Halloween!
Yes we celebrate. It's pretty big in my small art of town. They even have a neighborhood contest for decorations.

i will be working tonight so one of my staff members can spend time with her little one.

Now that my children are all adults, i no longer celebrate it. However, i used to love to throw a party and game night with friends n family. i also used to work at a haunted house for several years. Was in charge of costumes and make-up and also designed a couple rooms and acted in them. my adult kids have been putting together a game night of their own and still get together with each other :) makes this mom proud to know they enjoy that still... and together!

Favorite candy was a toss up between Snickers and Peanut Butter Cups.
i no longer eat candy or other things with high levels of sugar. Don't miss them either.

1. Yes, glad to say my country definitely celebrates Halloween, was shocked to learn in the last few years that there’s places that don’t celebrate it. It’s such a fun holiday, always loved it and is now one of my fave days of the year :)

We celebrate it similarly to how you do in the USA I think (probably on a smaller scale overall though lol) with dressing up in costumes, trick-or-treating, yummy candy and decorating.

2. Yup, I definitely always celebrate Halloween in some way. It never involves going to costume parties or anything like that, but I will usually watch Harry Potter and eat some candy at least. Have always lived in apartment buildings for most of my adult life so never been able to hand out candy, would love to be able to do that more though, hopefully someday.

3. Hmm, pretty hard question for me lol cos there’s lotsa Halloween candy I like. Some of my faves are: Kit Kat, Coffee Crisp, Crispy Crunch, Reese’s peanut butter cups and Oh Henry’s are pretty good too.

I'm from the US, so my experience was that Halloween was a big deal and way more fun than the other holidays.

I celebrated last night (it's a day ahead of the US here) with watching Practical Magic and putting 2 'ghosts' out front. One was a black cloth ghost with red eyes the other white with green eyes. A few kids came by and I had some candy for them.

My favorite candy was kitkat and bubblegum and candy corn. Although, I remember some very wealthy friends' parents gave out See's Candy packets which was surprising and tasty. I don't really eat candy now except for the square of chocolate I allot myself.

Thank you for opening and tagging me Angie &JMG.

Our country really does celebrate by decorating their lawns with big blow-ups and lights, parties, movies, etc. From USA.

Tonight I hope to get a few trick-or-treaters. I dressed up as a cat with a few others on my team today and we took pics. That's about it.

Luv peanut m&m's

For me, Halloween primarily serves as a big commercial event in the UK, but it is also a fun time for many children. It is connected to an older pagan festival called Samhain, which marks the beginning of winter and is celebrated in various regions, including where I live. This year, the Hindu festival of lights, Diwali, falls on the same day.

I enjoy the autumn light and colours associated with Samhain, as autumn is my favorite season. Usually, I would light a couple of scented candles and maybe prepare an autumnal dish, but I haven't made the effort this year.

People here decorate now for Haloweenie like they do for Christmas. Huge yard blowups, lights, even recordings playing all night out in the front yard
No kids in the neighborhood on my street any more so I don’t buy it. Or I’ll end up eating it. And I love the peanut mm’s too, Hershey’s kisses as well.

Thank you. I'll definitely try the meditation because my head is in an okay space for it at the moment—although it's 1 a.m., and I'm still wide awake. *wacko :)
