Happy National Doughnut Day SF friends. I don't know who makes up these holidays, but this seems to be a pretty good one. 1

I'm at the clinic waiting to be seen today and could be here all day, so I hope its allright that I opened cafe again.

I do not have red hair, mine used to be blondish brown but now it’s going gray.

My 3 favorite donuts: chocolate covered, apple fritter and apple cider donuts.

I consider myself very patriotic, I spent some time in the Navy and I wish I had made it a career. I’m from the U.S. and since I saw a lot of Asia, the Middle East, Africa and Australia when I was in the Navy I never got to go to Europe so I’d like to go to Germany and I’d also like to visit Normandy for historical purposes.

I think all candidates (on a national level not necessarily on a local level) should have served in the military that way they truly understand what it means to send the men and women in uniform in harms way.

National Donut Day is something I could really get behind. I'm fairly simple in my donut tastes and prefer the traditional sugar coated and jam filled variety.



I love red hair. I naturally had mousy blonde hair (although I haven't seen my natural colour since I was 14) and have dyed it red several times, ranging from a natural red to pillar box red.

I don't consider myself overly patriotic. Where we're born is just an accident of birth. I'm from the UK and have noticed a pervasive and pretty nasty side to nationalism over the last few years. I'd love to visit Africa - start at the top and spend a few months driving all the way down to the bottom.

We have our election coming up in a few weeks. I look for someone who believes in equality and fairness.

Tonight in the UK is it is Guy Fawkes Night - it's the anniversary of when Guy Fawkes tried to blow up the Houses of Parliament. We celebrate it with bonfires and fireworks. We even put an effigy of a Guy on top of the bonfire - probably a bit macabre nowadays but it's a big tradition here.

No ...just blondish and now with graying which I've decided to look at as natural highlights...lol...

Apple Fritter, Bear Claw and Blueberry

3) do you consider yourself patriotic? What country are you from? And what country would you like to visit next?
I admit I have never really thought about this but I do have great admiration for those who serve their countries and communities for the greater good as long as is a balanced, informed and measured approach and not to the detriment of others if that makes any sense. I'm from the US which like many countries it seems is going through challenging times but believe that it is possible to not lose the ideals upon which they were founded in the process for the greater long term good. That one is easy New Zealand of course.

4) (Election day had me thinking about this) please say something about what you like in a candidate.
Integrity to their ideals, pro-active listener to both their constituents and those who are experts in their field of knowledge and ability to change their viewpoint when needed, ability to see the long term impact of decisions not just short term gains, compassion and empathy for all. ability to reach informed compromises with those they may disagree with for the betterment of all,

I color my hair, people comment that it’s has strawberry-red hue.

I am My moms travel partner. She’d like to visit Ireland. My neighbors spend a couple months a year there. They were born in Ireland. So it’d be awesome to have them show us their country.

Integrity? I want some one that votes for things on the basis of right & wrong.

Thank you for serving @Sleeper71. Good idea about the candidates serving in the military. I just erased some other stuff I wrote to keep things apolitical. I have my flag flying, albeit a small one in front of my house, lit at night.

Equality and fairness, ahhhh. I honestly think my politics have changed a bit over the past 25 years. But I do believe that children deserve an equal start. It's so difficult when big business, taxes and money allocations are center. I seems to be the haves and the have-nots. Back to your point if equality and fairness.

I would also say Africa! Get our of my head, lol. I just would like to go on a safari and bcz it's the oldest continent. I think it was @Livelife who interacted with Wildcats. Thanks for your answers @Sunspots. I honestly think I'm going to see if my daughter wants to go to Dunkin Donuts soon

Yw @Foreignwoman foreign you are never boring! Netherlands, cool. Our country is having some challenges but in answer to my question I do love my country and the religious freedom that people sought years ago. I also respect Native American tradition and studies their art in college.

Anyway, thank you for answering. Our leader now isnt exactly calm, lol. I dont think it's a good idea to get political.

This is my kind of post....I'm a redhead born and bred...Natural for years; bright and bold.......now I get to choose the shade
I curled up with the lions and tigers in Thailand last year, wish I could post the pix but my goofy self is in them ...Maybe the one with my face buried in the tiger's side with just the back of my head showing would be ok? Let me know someone, I'd love to share it.
I'm not a donut girl per se but when I do have one it's the old fashioned original glazed donut but it has to be fresh and warm....then I'll eat more than one.
