Good morning/afternoon/evening!

Its 3:45 am here, and my day has begun lol

Yesterday's GP appointment did have results. My thyroid level (T3) is way low at 60 when minimum is 80 so its off to the endocrinologist for a medication change. My GP wasn't comfortable doing this as I have no thyroid (total take out in the early 80s) and there is a balancing act between levothyroxine and cytomel (sp? its a new one for me). No idea how long the referral will take, but yuk at another specialist and road trip to the next larger town.

Having amazing results with the dosage increase in Ozempic. 6 pounds lost in 5 days. I'm just not hungry. I have really cut down on the sugar though, eliminating my beloved sweet tea.

Today I need to do some housework and decluttering. My annual HUD inspection is November 3rd and I need to get started!

Planning on making meatloaf with potatoes and zucchini for lunch.

What are your plans for today? Anything interesting this week?

Thanks so much for the tag, @Angie , and for opening the cafe, once more *hug

My friend is still in psychiatric care, so using all, or any, of my skill, to select gifts and hobby craft ideas, to get him out of his depression. I could do with any more ideas, if people have some? ;)

Wishing you the best, on your medical journey, as well. *hug

Coloring books and markers. Coloring has been studied as therapy and its been proven to help the brain move from one side to the other which helps the person greatly.
Any art will do this but coloring supplies are relatively cheap and portable. Also if your friend is in the hospital they will usually allow coloring books and markers (not pencils or pens though). If you choose a simple book, old fashioned crayons work well too while inpatient.

Thank you so much. I have actually already purchased some rather detailed "colouring by numbers" books; that are easy to do, but still look impressive. So, kind of like, little effort to select the colours required, but still a sense of achievement. I hope it'll inspire some more detailed and sophisticated artwork in the future, for him.

I didn't think in terms of which colouring materials would be allowed into the hospital though, so I'm glad I asked and you responded. If I am unsure about the other things I've bought, would it be ok to ask you again? or, for any further things I think of?

Thanks again, Angie. *hug

Good morning @Angie. Thanks for opening cafe again. It sounds like you have a full day of starting to declutter, something I could start to do myself *yes4.

My week is pretty routine, going to work and even that is routine most of the time, Lord help me. I need some excitement in my life. But all is good and I wish you good health and hope your doctor's appointments go well.

@Bergerac I was really thinking about what to get your friend and all I could come up with was books on either inspirational quotes or something humorous.

Hope everyone has a good day. *hug10

Thank you very much for making the effort to consider this. They are good suggestions, thank you. I have bought a blank card and am trying to pen a decent and sentimental/meaningful message, that he can read when I'm not there. To bring some comfort. I also am taking a book of the place I was born in, so he can learn more about me, in effect, and there's not too much reading involved, at this stage.

I'm sorry you're stuck in 'routine'. I hope something more interesting and appealing, can be introduced into your schedule, soon. Something that incorporates nicely and enhances things. Whatever you wish for.

Thank you again. *hug

@Angie glad your doctor had some answers for you. Although the test results are not great, at least you’ve got some answers and now will be able to do something about it :)

I, myself went to the doctor yesterday. He changed my antibiotics, saying that my lungs didn’t sound too well despite taking a few days of antibiotics. hopefully, the new ones will do the trick.

I hope everyone is well and I wish you guys a wonderful day *grouphug2

Lighter crime or mysteries, historical fiction in the form of audiobooks, specifically. A quality pair of bluetooth headphones to go with. Sample them ahead of time to make sure they've got great narrators. A friendly, appealing voice telling you a story is good therapy. Peter Grainger is one author I can recomend.

Thank you for your help. I have considered these, but given his background, they sadly wouldn't be suitable. *hug

The IT department have at last managed to fix my work laptop so after 6 weeks I was finally able to work from home today which made my dog extremely happy!
It was actually a really quiet day work wise so I managed to get lots of household chores done in between work tasks (but don't tell my boss that!)

Then a friend came over for a cup of tea. She's been on holiday for two weeks and I've missed her like mad. So we had a very long catch-up as we both had lots of news.

Got up later than expected this morning. I usually try to get downtown early to get coffee before class, but I ran out of time, so I was sleepy in class. We watched part of the movie Nope in my first class of the day. My professor brought us apple cider donuts :)
Had lunch afterwards and been chilling. Got my second class of the day in an hour and a half, but it's just going to be lecture. Hope I will be less tired then. I did have coffee at some point, but I have been almost dozing off in the library.
