Some of my neighbors are also known for turning lights off and just leaving a bowl of candy out.

I don't leave candy out for them. I don't like children that much :p

That would be an exercise in futility. Candy at my house lasts all of two hours from the time it gets brought in to the time my husband eats it.

However, if you make the trip, meet me at Wawa and I'll steal you a king size candy bar of your choice. I've been robbing them of their candy for months.

My friend used to keep buckets of water, eggs and bags of flour just inside the front door. As soon as any trick or treaters knocked, he'd open the door and before they even had time to open their mouths he'd shout TRICK!! and pelt them with something

I used to like when I was home to give out candy. Look at all the kids in their costumes. I didn't care if they were teenagers. I'd set out candles on the steps. Feels nice to remember not too long ago. And making my babies costumes. Different time.

I get about 200 kids for candy on a given Halloween night. (I live near an elementary school) They constantly ring the doorbell even if the lights are out. Some Halloweens I visit my friends who get about 30 kids. BaH Humbug Halloween. Although it was fun when my daughter was young b/c the houses in the neighborhood used to be decorated...now they are plainly houses that give out candy.

When I was 24 and my husband was 27, we wore masks to cover our faces so that no one could tell how old we were. It worked. Most people thought we were teenagers.

I was like...15 at the time and didn't have on a costume. But I felt weird then so I stopped going. Now I just buy all the candy when it's half price so I have a ton to myself. :P
