Hello SF family, I hope today finds you well as can be!

How about eggs? Those little protein powerhouses.

Just because I am curious:

How much does a dozen eggs cost in your part of the world?
What sort of dishes do you make with eggs?
Deviled eggs? Yes or no?

I'll answer here (cuz I seem to forget lol)
Dozen eggs in US - Texas are $3.77
I like to use eggs in salads, like chicken or tuna. I also have been known to just eat a couple boiled eggs with some crackers. I make poached eggs from time to time in my handy dandy stainless steel egg poacher.
Deviled eggs are a yes, although in my culture they are a "holiday" food.

A dozen eggs here in NSW Australia is about $6 aud. That's what I paid today for a dozen free range eggs. When I was in the Pacific Northwest I was buying free range eggs for about $5 which were local and very tasty.

In no particular order: I use eggs for homemade spinach-leek quiche, custard, hard-boiled for snacks, and for breakfast and sometimes dinner scrambled, soft-boiled (2.5 minutes at eas level), and fried eggs on a bed of steamed spinach with melted cheese, and eggs to into non-gluten bread pudding, often on sliced on salads, and western omelets on weekends...

I really love Deviled eggs. Same with me, holidays only, otherwise, I'd overeat them. Also on cold weather holidays times I make an extra rich creamy, cheesy egg based spinach side dish.

In South Africa a dozen eggs is about to R50 and R60 so if I convert for you guys it's about $2.85

As to dishes I never make a lot of egg, but my favorite cheat meal is hard boiling a few and then mashing them up and mixing with mayo and salt and pepper and just eating it like that.
Also scrambled eggs on toast.
But very rarely.

As to deviled eggs, I had to Google what that is and no I've never had, but would like to try.

Your cheat meal is a go to for me also. Egg salad! I have that with saltine crackers.

Dozen eggs over here (UK) would be around the £2.50 mark. Depends on the brand though as well as the quality of the chicken's arse that sat on it as some packs can be around the £4-5 mark for 10 eggs.

Egg dishes? Lets see now, fried (cooked in butter and napping the egg whilst in the pan) scrambled, omelettes (often loaded up with various ingredients). Poached eggs I've done a few times, usually layering that on toasted sourbread with ham and dressed with hollandaise sauce. Lol though at the way people get into semi heated debates as to how the poach the perfect egg particularly as to whether to use vinegar or not or to swirl the pan. Boiled eggs is another one I don't mind doing. If it's in a salad, then I'll cook it so I get a thick runny yolk. (Learnt a failsafe technique yrs ago). Mind you, I've hard boiled a few times to make egg mayonaise which goes in to building egg mayo sausage sandwiches.

Though I've heard of deviled eggs, I've never go round to trying them. But I'm willing to give it bash.

Depends on where you get them, sometimes they are pretty reasonable. I'd say around $2.50 on average though.

Scrambled, fried, boiled, all kinds of things really.

Eggs here cost similar to @Angie but it can vary if at bigger stores or smaller. I love eggs and have them regularly but breakfast for supper or breakfast anytime is a at least once a week meal typically. I prefer fried eggs mostly, normally hard fried but do a bit of all of the style all the way down to sunnyside up, and I do also love scrambled. Mostly in this area deviled eggs are more of a holiday dish but I grew up having and making them more often than just at the holiday times. Get a good skillet and it is hard to beat having fried ham and eggs, both fixed in the same skillet.

Cool theme, I like eggs made most ways aside from scrambled, never liked them like that as a kid and it is the same now as an adult lol.

They vary in price, I always buy the “large” or extra large eggs cos smaller than that is too small imo. For those ones, it’s about $3-4 I think.

I don’t generally make many dishes, but I’ve made eggs fried, as omelets, hard boiled and soft boiled. I like them all ways except scrambled.

Yes to deviled eggs, they’re yummy that way too

Best way I like eggs are hardboiled...we have one of those Cuisinart egg makers and now make 7 eggs at a time so can have sliced on toast with butter for breakfast... best invention ever and learned easiest way to shell put in ice water bath...

Love deviled eggs but too lazy to make them so always make a beeline when someone else does for an event/party...lol.
