Christmas already? Jesus. It's not even Halloween yet. Can we please just enjoy the changing leaves and beautiful temperatures without Christmas advertisements...like ever?

What is the nicest thing someone has ever done for you?

I think I'm just not aware of that.

What are the little things in life you sometimes take for granted?

I guess when you know someone has an illness or hardship that prevents them from having something basic, that helps make you aware. Being able to breathe, go to the toilet, digest food, have food to digest, have clean water, have sanitation, not having bombs being dropped on me, etc, etc.

Do you think you would feel mentally different if your lottery numbers came out tonight?

Don't have a lottery ticket atm. Yeah, I think having enough money to never have to work and go anywhere I wanted to would be really nice.

Maybe Imma buy a ticket tonight because of you!

What impact has SF had on your life?

Oh, pretty big I think. It's kind of hard to say exactly how though.

I see they are advertising Christmas already, too early or love it?

Yes, too early. I love Christmas, but I don't love the way it's been turned to a festival of consumer spending under social pressure. So much of the things people buy for Christmas end up never being used, so I think the commercialization of Christmas is both a social and environmental disaster.

If it was just about decorating trees, singing carols, and the spirit of good will, Christmas would be much nicer.

1. nicest thing : my kids always doing something special to help

2. little things i take for granted : nature

3. mentally different if i hit the lottery : yes it would feel great to have no more money problems, would definately help my depression and anxiety

4. impact SF had on my life : first SF saved my life and second gives me a chance to help people in a small way

5. christmas : i miss the old days when the christmas season started the day after thanksgiving

and today we went to a few places in my 64 dodge, relaxing

What is the nicest thing someone has ever done for you?

There have been lots of lovely things people have done for me. Three close friends in particular have been unwavering in their support over the last few years. One even put up with me turning up on his doorstep at 4am in the middle of winter when I needed somewhere safe.

What are the little things in life you sometimes take for granted?

It's not really a little thing but something I never really appreciated until recently was financial security. Now that I might well be losing that I realise how much I took it for granted.

Do you think you would feel mentally different if your lottery numbers came out tonight?

Absolutely. It wouldn't even have to be the big one but enough for me to live without the uncertainty of the future. A small house or apartment and enough money to pay the bills without worry.
But seeing as I've never bought a lottery ticket it's very unlikely to happen

What impact has SF had on your life?

I honestly don't think I would still be here without SF. The friendships I've made here, both online and irl mean the world to me.

I don't particularly like Christmas, I find it too stressful trying to make it perfect for everyone else. I think it's way too early for Christmas shit now. But I have seen someone who already has their Christmas decorations up She says it makes her happy to see them and it's been such an awful year she needs something to smile about. Can't fault her for that - if it makes her happy I'm all for it. Just not in my house.

What is the nicest thing someone has ever done for you?
So I can't (ok "won't) share the full story - but several years ago I was reading a book on the subway that related to a significant change I was going through at the time, and right before my stop the woman next to me hands me a little post-it note (I honestly for a second thought she might be deaf and was trying to communicate something) but it was a note saying that she thought what I was doing was very courageous. I've rarely felt so good from a stranger

What are the little things in life you sometimes take for granted?
Not that much anymore, I try to be aware of things that I'm grateful for

Do you think you would feel mentally different if your lottery numbers came out tonight?
I don't play the lottery but if - I would definitely feel mentally different because (presumably) financial issues would no longer be a concern, it wouldn't make EVERYTHING right, but that would be a big help

Feeling less alone

I'm good with it Over the last couple of years I've started buying myself Christmas gifts - I try to do it early and I wrap them and open on Christmas. I thought it might be a sad thing the first time but I really like it

What is the nicest thing someone has ever done for you?
It’s usually the little things, something small. My dad gave me a birthday card this year just from him and said thank you for everything I do. It meant a lot to me.

What are the little things in life you sometimes take for granted?
Anything nature I suppose. Rarely stop to look.

Do you think you would feel mentally different if your lottery numbers came out tonight?
Not sure if it would help my mental health. Might be nice though but never buy a ticket.

What impact has SF had on your life?
Some amazing people on here and I have started to make some good friends, one in particular, so I feel less alone. Now I know where I can go if things get too much and I don’t want to stay any more, where people will understand.

Good evening all. Back to work for me tomorrow I am partially dreading it (anxiety on overdrive) but it'll be a good shift. I'll be with my Avo, so we'll be happy. I bought some books for my daughters school because they had said in a video about getting all books back, they had no budget for them this year. So I kinda did a good deed for today.

What is the nicest thing someone has ever done for you?
I was in a financially bad spot 2 years ago. I had no money to my name, I had no food in and it was ages for payday. A friend at work helped me out and told me to pay it back as and when I can. I was so grateful for that kindness. I've sorted myself out now and things are much better, to the point that I am helping my friends out now.

What are the little things in life you sometimes take for granted?
I have a roof over my head. Enough to eat, a daughter who loves me, and friends/colleagues who make me happy to be here.

Do you think you would feel mentally different if your lottery numbers came out tonight?
I think I would be impacted mentally. Negatively. While I do dream about what I would do if I were to win the lottery, I also know that I would be hounded to the end of the earth, and I would want to help everyone. But it would hurt because I know there would be people who would not be grateful
What impact has SF had on your life?
It saved me back when I first joined. It gave me friendships that can't ever be replaced. It has given me loss too, and I miss those that have moved on, whether it be for better or worse. I just wish I had a chance to thank them all.

I honestly hate it, because christmas has become so commercialised. Its only about making money for big companies. I love christmas because it does get me some time with my daughter, but I anticipate that christmas this year will be massively different to last year.

I'll just answer one of the questions since it's the only one I can think of a proper answer for lol - I cannot STAND people advertising Christmas early. I've become a real grouch when it comes to Christmas it seems (not sure if it's my grumpy teenager hormones or just the depression lol) and only get particularly excited once December actually begins. Halloween, on the other hand, I'll be hyped for that all year. A bit biased given it's my birthday, but I digress - it will always be my fav holiday.

did i miss... has anyone mentioned???? I hear that September is Suicide Prevention Awareness Month and tomorrow is World Suicide Prevention Awareness Day. I have been made aware because i just received a NAMI email about it so i thought i’d spread the word. NAMI is having some kind of Zoom event in connection with this. Not sure how far reaching NAMI is though...

What is the nicest thing someone has ever done for you? Told me positive things about myself.

What are the little things in life you sometimes take for granted? How technology has changed since I was younger. I fit that I was the TV remote when a kid.

Do you think you would feel mentally different if your lottery numbers came out tonight? I would be saying hopefully I will never have to worry about money again.

What impact has SF had on your life? Like minded people who support and care.

I see they are advertising Christmas already, too early or love it? I dig it. I hate it but my favorite holiday is Thanksgiving that does not seem to get what it deserves. When my nephew and nieces were young I enjoyed it since they were kids and now with my two grand nieces who are both very young it is fun.
