Hi Everyone - hope you are all okay.

I thought I'd open the Cafe today with a grind my gears theme.

What day to day things really annoy you?

My answers:
  • Slow vehicles who won't pull over.
  • Those youtube adverts where person are saying if you drink salt water for a month you'll lose 50 KG, just click on the link to see how to do it or buy this amazing matchbox size heater that will heat up any room to 30 degrees in 5 seconds, just click on the link.
  • When I leave my headphones in the house and go to work.
  • People at work asking me stupid questions first thing in the morning before I've had a coffee - actually Ill change that to people talking to me at work before I've had a coffee.
  • Having to get out of bed in the morning.
  • People disturbing me when I'm on a break.
Some tags but everyone's welcome:

* Having to do something because I got to otherwise I fear abuse.
* People not minding their own business
* Hate
* Ahhhhhhhh narrow mindedness
* Lack of emotional intelligence
* Ego and what it makes people to do
* Not getting the time to live slowly
* Not having the space to be myself safely
* Not being able to express my emotions
* Loneliness
* Being alienated among all the people around me but even those I care / cared about
* Thinking about grief and how I absolutely hate goodbyes / not being able to talk to certain people.

( I am by myself almost all the time , so likee yea 😅 for me these are daily occurrences )

My biggest pet peeve in day to day life is:

when people don't use elevator manners, for example when there are people IN the elevator, you should wait for them to exit before pushing your way on

this so annoys me lol
Same but for trains, metro/trams and buses lol! Also on buses the way nobody volunteers a filter system, so everyone get held up on the stairs, having to wait until everybody downstairs gets off. lol.

Hello cafe, I hope everyone on SF is doing alright today.

Thanks for opening it, and tagging me @Inastorm.

abuse
Crappy tap water
people who drive vehicles too fast in residential areas
Anxiety
Belief and power systems based on hate
stepping outside the door into polluted air
People who fail to communicate fully &/or dissemble

"normal" people. those people with laughably shallow personalities, that only possess enough agency, care and critical thinking skills to be easily integrated into society, with nothing to contribute to anyone's life, not even their own. and they always think they're somehow better than you. it pisses me off.

also pretty much everything that @seabird and @Congratsbaby said.

AND I FUCKING HATE COMMERCIALS

Thank you for opening @Inastorm , as well as opening.

What day to day things really annoy you?
People who know what the problem is, know how to fix said problem, have the ability to fix it, don't bother to even try, yet constantly complain about it.

Drivers that creep along when it snows because they are afraid of driving. The problem is that it makes it more dangerous for everyone else around them.

On the opposite end... drivers who are too confident driving in bad weather. They end up in the ditch up the road.

Thanks for posting a cafe today Inastorm and for tagging me.

Cool topic, my answer is similar to what others have said overall, especially relating to others being thoughtless, inconsiderate, arrogant/overconfident and otherwise not respectful, or being negative about things.

Also, people who are judgmental, critical and/or harsh about things. There is always a tactful and kind way to communicate, when people can’t be bothered to make the effort to do that, it’s very upsetting for me.

What day to day things really annoy you?

- Crossing a street/Waiting to cross a street
- Getting myself ready to go out (but I like to go out)
- People talking loud/arguing
- Stressed moms/fighting with kids
- Puddles of rain
- Weak rain (chuvisco)
- Noises of raindrops falling onto metal
- Youtube recommendations
- Non-charitable people on internet discussions
- Cockroaches
- Anyone who scrolls on social media without earphones
- Parties without food
- Healthy food
- People that talk about healthy food like if they really like that shit
- College teachers who argue with students
- People that talk a lot about coffee out of nowhere
- Every website of an college or org.
- Gospel music (with rare exceptions)
- People who are into excessive flattery
- People who swears a lot or tries to talk in slang when they clearly don't talk like that in normal life
- Excessive sentimentalism when someone famous dies or when some common crime happens

There is much more though.

I would probably go just the opposite direction:

What doesn't annoy me?

Cats are fine and so are dogs and critters of any type. Humor is another favorite. Folks on this forum are a big plus because sad as things may be for themselves that they don't like in life people here are very supportive, caring and so often try to offer up advice that may pull a person up for a bit.

Humans can be trying(myself included) since we all have our own wants and ways. Human behavior since time began is strife and conflict based on motivations that only the person feeling them cares about. We all have our own issues to tackle.

I do agree tht crawling out of a warm bed in the early morning chill is no fun at all. All all the aches and pains of just getting older and it does get tiring.

Lately my biggest beef with life/society in general is that, as a neuro-divergent person, I am expected to conform, as in figure out how to adapt my behavior to more typical brain-styles so as not to be misunderstood, discarded, or even attacked. I'm not saying everyone else has to learn to cater to people who are further along the tails of whatever bell curve we're talking about, but could we just have some awareness and don't rush to judgement without asking the other person what they meant?

What helps me feel better is being clean and comfy. Sometimes I time my shower, change my sheets, and run some laundry so that I can go straight into bed with fresh sheets, just showered, and pajamas still warm from the dryer. Can't do that everyday or else my skin would be even more dry than it already is. Every so often, though, it's really nice. Also it's been so warm here for this winter that I'd rather put my pajamas in the freezer for 2 hours and pull those out right at bedtime. Some people sleep better in cold. I've noticed that the thermometer reads about 60-65F when I feel most comfortable in bed.

Thanks @Inastorm ! That's a great topic indeed. I wouldn't even want to get started 😂. As such, I'll focus on a grating annoyance that I suffer every single day, namely the stupidly bright headlights most common among Tesla cars.

I'm usually a pedestrian and must often navigate treacherously slippery sidewalks at night, whether due to rain, mud or ice. All of a sudden, one of those dumb things totally blinds me out of nowhere. Those cars tend to be quiet, so I don't even hear them coming towards me.

In a moment, I'm completely blinded. I can't see the sidewalk in front of me, including any treacherously muddy, icy or wet spots. I really don't want to sprain my ankle, break my leg, or shatter my skull during my regular daily grocery walks.

Oh, and for those who want to argue about semantics: If they're as bright as brights, they're brights. You can't redefine optics. Why is this even legal (or is it)?
