Good morning @Petal
When I was a kid I loved playing on the rockery. Now it seems so small, when I was younger it appeared massive. Used to climb the steps, or the tree, or manage to climb up the just soiled slopes... and walk through the rockery next door and to the next (it used to go past all my neighbours houses. Now some neighbours have knocked it down) and hiding in some gardens, being really quiet as passing as they wouldn't have wanted other people in their garden.... oh gosh. memories.
Or making plays. I used to write play scripts (well it was on the level of a 7 year old) and we would make dances, song acts etc to go with it and get our mothers and sisters to form the audience whilst we 'performed'. This was probably until age 9 or 10.
Playing machanayim in school was fun.
And from that age on reading. I used to read all day every day - I lived in my own world through reading.

please tell me that black circle isn't blood pudding
We call it Black Pudding here, but yes essentially it is blood pudding :)

Thanks for opening the cafe so early @Petal , although I'm still late

So as a kid I suppose we used to play IT, or Tag as Americans call it, football obviously, Man Hunt, Wrestling (I almost broke my back once when the older brother of a friend attempted the Pile Driver move on me ), and later we managed to get hold of some BB guns and enjoyed shooting around an old gas works (although this is probably against Health and Safety these days o_O). My absolute favourites when I was on my own though had to be playing with cars, mainly Micro Machines:

and remote controlled cars, especially the Tamiya Manta Ray, which my dad and I built together before he died:

I used to love my old car mat too:

I also used to like building things, like boats and rockets out of balsa wood, and I even made a ballista/catapult once that fired tennis balls....not sure if mum ever did miss her wodden spoon! :p

Anyway, it's tea time here and I'm at work, so it's a simple sausage and mash with onion gravy for me tonight:

Although I'm tempted to go all out and make something like this:

The hogs will have to scavenge for their own tea tonight as I'm working:

Come join in @sassy123 @Kira @BumbleBee @Candy057 @Kalicka @rabitt3434 @Abigail1213 @Fell Mor @Ineluki @Sarahbeanie @bubblebear @Woowoo @Ash600 @bobbob @Anne Charlotte @crumbum @unlucky me @Dawn @Deety @Shannew @drinty @DrownedFishOnFire @shania @pooky @gypsylee @Innocent Forever @Jolene @JulieDegraw @Kiwi2016 @LonelyLuna @Lulabelle @MarkahMalady @Mercedesgirl @Pagan @rayray @Shadowlands @Solace @walkerbait95 @baywasp @Unknown_111 @Witty_Sarcasm @yonk @Lola 2018 @Winter Blues @Bigbang @Mremptyinside @AsphyxiateOnWords and everyone else I've been missing!

In one of my foster homes when I was about 11 my older foster brother and a couple of his friends were playing with air soft BB guns. I wanted to play but he said "no". I kept standing in front of there guns until one of his friends got annoyed and shot me in the side... I had a huge welt there for days! But I didn't admitted that it hurt cause I wanted to prove I was " responsible". Didn't understand what it meant at the time...

I played with barbie dolls, my little pony and other girly toys but what sticks out the most is the climbing. I'd climb every tree, every scaffolding, every rooftop i could find. Get in trouble, get grounded and do it all over again lol. Nothing could keep me on the ground. I was free, it was liberating :)

Soooo this is Clement he has Megaesophagus

So he has to eat like this
But he sure does look happy. What a handsome boy!

@Lulabelle @Innocent Forever @RCee my favorite games were also the ones my best friend and I made up. Some of them were random but others we played over and over. We made up songs and plays that we'd perform for her mom and dad and siblings. We cracked ourselves up and had so much fun together. We never wanted to grow up and we both realized then and now how fortunate we were to have each other.

@DowntheRabbitHole I remember playing lawn darts all the time when I was young! I also loved Ker-Bangers which would bruise the heck out my forearms. I heard they were eventually banned. Funny how the package says they're "guaranteed for safe play." Oh the seventies...

I also had many hours of fun with my Lemon Skip Toy. I wonder if they still make these.

I envy you, @JulieDegraw! Jumping from 1 step of a staircase was like jumping from a building to me. I saw a girl jumping naturally from a low stonewall the other day. Awesome! I can imagine the feelong of freedom.
By the way, this reminds me of something: my Mother was as clumsy as I am. But she lived in a neighborhood where there were only houses. A widow lived in one of them and my Mother and some friends used to make scary tales about her. One day they challenged each other to climb up to her french balcony. They all climbed helping each other, but, when they heard the lady coming, everybody could get down... except for my Mother who, terrified, saw a blacj shadow approaching and opening the curtains...
She was invited for tea.

I'll open my heart here about toys. I've got a weith relationship with things. I know they're just things and have no feelings, but, anyway, I can't stand them to be rejected. My Mother told me that they were poor when she was little. For a reason I can't remember, they forgot to buy her a Xmas present. So, her Mother gave her some pocket money to buy herself a present. The only thong she could afford with that money was a smal toy guitar. She brought it home but was very sad and didn't enjoy it - and never played with it -. I must confess I still cry when I imagine myself as that guitar, hoping to make a child happy (its purpose), and then...
Sorry... I just felt I had to take it out of my chest... shouldn't, really...

Thank you for the invitation, @Karmitkurmit ! Reading through this thread brought back lots of great memories. I did many of the same things that other people mentioned. I was thinking about some of the board games my family used to play when I was young. When we played Monopoly I always had to be the little Scottie dog piece or I wouldn't play. It seems like that game always ended up with someone in tears! :p I don't think I was very good at it. But I was quite good at Uno; I would usually win. I googled a picture of the cards and I can't remember how to play it anymore, lol!

I hope everyone had a good Wednesday!

Please don't apologise, I read both of your posts there and thank you for sharing your stories with us. The first one made me laugh, the second made me cry, but both of them are of you and your life, which is important to us. I always like to read personal stories and memories of people here; as hard as they can be to tell sometimes, they allow us to build a mental picture of the very real person sitting the other side of the screen. All to often I see the term "in real life" used here. I know what it means and appreciate what it is used for, but you are all very real to me and a huge part of my life, online or not. X
