Hello SFers! I hope your week is going well, its hump day!

Had a lovely change in the weather on Tuesday here in North Texas, with a high of 76f (24c) and rain. It was magnificent after those 100f+ days, which were brutal.

I have a couple of general icebreaker questions today, lets get to know each other!

What is something you hate doing? Why?
What is something you love doing? Why?

Hey Angie, tysm for tagging me and for posting this cafe too :) Glad the weather cooled down for you.
Well here’s my answers to those q’s then:

What is something you hate doing? Why?
What is something you love doing? Why?
Something I hate doing is dishes. Specifically, having to hand wash each one. Just rinsing and throwing them in a dishwasher is fine of course, but handwashing, like I’ve had to do for my whole adult life? No thanks. I hate doing them because they are a very boring, tedious chore and I am always stuck doing them.

Something I love doing is shopping, especially fun shopping (like for shoes, clothes and other fun things like that). I love it because it’s fun to get “new things”.
I also love playing games on my phone, cos they are fun and help me relax and not feel so stressed and worried about things.

I hadn't participated in many Cafe's lately but I will today. I happen to be up early and checking SF so I thought I'd jump in

What is something you hate doing? Why?
Cleaning the kitty litter box. Oh I know it has to be done since the kitty is 15 yo and can't be trained at this point on the toilet. But it is a chore best forgotten until I have to do it. Although having one cat greatly keeps the process easy and less demanding. Poor kitty...

What is something you love doing? Why? It's a great reflection that my "loves to do" outweigh my "something I hate doings." I liked @AmberMarie 's post on meeting people and learning about them. I do too. But I will select tai chi and exercise as something I like doing. For obvious reasons - the endorphins but also because it is a social activity for me. I hate being alone.

I hate procrastination: It feels quite insufferable at the end of a day. Even like.. watching a couple tv show episodes per day (and I for sure have time!) for relaxation is tough to achieve with consistency, lack of focus or having to do so many householding tasks. *thumbsdown Happy to combine tasks with like a podcast though! *thumbsup Things I've learned while washing dishes by hand... from podcasts! *yes4

I love: when there's less time between thought to action (behavior) - basically a bit of flow state, or like thought to communication when I'm in a conversation with someone. It takes a long time to get comfortable in this and I need to know the other person somewhat well. *yes4 I can be super analytical and sometimes fall completely silent in conversations IRL.

Hey @Angie, another really insightful set of questions. Thanks for opening and for tagging me. *hug

What is something you hate doing? Why?
Worrying over finances and logistics. It stresses me out way more than it should. I'm decent at it, i just hate it is all.

What is something you love doing? Why?
I deliberated on this question for quite a while, cos i was embarrassed by what i see as my most obvious answer. But i've finally concluded "why be ashamed of it?", so my answer is gaming. It's very rare for me to get bored of playing video games.

Hi Angie, hi SF! *stars

Yesterday I went to the cinema with a free ticket for my birthday, I saw "The Count of Monte Cristo". It's a French film, but it was really great! I already loved the book (a classic) and the original film, but this modern one was also very well done, I recommend, especially if you're learning French.

I also went to a Georgian restaurant that is 4 minutes from where I live and I didn't know about. What a shame, because it was SO GOOD. Probably one of the best cuisines of the world.

What is something you hate doing? Why?

I hate reading and learning rules of complicated board games. I am very inefficient at it anyway because my brain is too slow, so it's always other people doing it. :p

What is something you love doing? Why?

I love going to restaurants. I realize it's an expensive thing to enjoy, but I love discovering new food, I love well prepared food, and I think it's one of the best activities to spend time with a person, or a small group. Most of the time I'd rather go eat out than stay at home, by far. Plus, I actually enjoy wearing some nicer clothes and prepare myself. ^^

Something I hate doing...
Letting people down - even (and sometimes especially) if it's not in my control.

Something I love doing...
Singing in the car either a) with someone also singing and who doesn't care that I can't sing or b) on my own where there is nobody to care that its rubbish.

Hi @Angie Thanks for the cafe, and thanks @JMG for the invite :)

What is something you hate doing? Why?

Noted. I will make simplified rules for all our boardgames :P

What is something you hate doing? Why?

I hate dealing with liars and hypocrites in a professional setting. You cant just call them out on it, even if its plain as day, because then they go to war. You have to go through some stupid dance of social bullshit to trap them in their own lies and if you lose, then you have to play along with their bullshit, even when everyone present knows its bullshit. Its ridiculous.

What is something you love doing? Why?

Playing really complicated asymmetric boardgames. There is one I played recently that took 3 hours of discussion to figure out how to play, and half of the game to get a handle on it. I so want to play it again now that we have a better understanding of it. The reason I like them is because it makes a really big and fleshed out experience. Its not some simple game, no, this requires some serious tactics and planning.
