Happy weekend Cafe peeps!

Yes, don't adjust your screen... I'm opening the Cafe for the 1st time!! (It only took me 6 months!)
Over these lovely days we will be having a variety of food brought in by our own SF members! Yay, so that means you! Everyone is required to bring a plate or dish to share. If you can't cook, :o then I guess you could bring in some takeaway food.

This weekend's challenge is just to get outside and breathe in some fresh air. You could go for a walk - which would be advisable - and take some time to look around at nature. Listen to the birds, feel the sun on your skin. Feel alive!

My culinary treat is cooking in the oven but I have to get it out now...
I'll come back later and share it with you all and tag a few people along the way.
Take care and I'll see you all around with your lovely food (or we'll all go hungry :o )

It's wet where I am, but was out watching my daughter play sport in the drizzle so I've done my outside time, and lack of parking at he venue meant I got a 20 minute walk in also.

I don't see any point in breaking the streak so I'll bring the coffee, and some tea and hot chocolate for those that don't like coffee

I will bring some homemade peanut butter bars. Hey, they went fast at the office Christmas party :P
Challenge accepted! I am going with my mom and a friend out to lunch, and then doing some shopping. Also have to get some things in storage to make the apartment less cluttered. There are inspectors coming in next month--it is good in a way that they do upkeep and make sure everything is in working order, but kind of invasive that they have to check everything
Have a happy weekend, everyone!

Hi everyone, it's been a long time since I was in the cafe.

Love pancakes and bananas!

Just getting ready to go out for a walk around my local cemetery! Sounds odd right? But they have an open day every year and I've never been. They give guided tours of the chapel and crypt, places that are normally off limits. Should be interesting. And I actually love cemeteries. I know I'm weird

Have a good weekend people.

Love and hugs x

@Kira75 thanks for opening up today.
I will make some smoothies with or without boba. It's been soo hot here lately. Might be cooling down some lately, but something refreshing would still be nice. Some of my favorite flavors are pineapple, chocolate, and avocado. I know some people might be put off by the avocado flavor, but my favorite banh mi chain with a location in San Francisco sold them, and I've converted a few doubters by having them actually try one.

Even though I'm pretty broke (like not quite $5 in my account broke :/) I think I'm going down to the mall in/near Bethel Park. IDK if that is officially part of Pittsburgh but I can take the T (light rail) down there and the station that I believe is the end of the line is right by the mall. It's less than a mile and a half walk to the station where I'll get on, in a neighborhood adjacent to mine. I saw online that they have a See's Candies store there. You can get a single truffle or a lollipop or something for less than a dollar, and hopefully they give you a whole truffle as a sample at this location like they do in SF because that's pretty awesome. I can also try some drink samples at Teavana, even though I can't afford an actual drink. I can at least check it out to see if I want to come back later maybe next month when I do have money. I bet I could find more samples in the food court perhaps. I will have to see. Should be a fun little adventure.

And tomorrow... is my birthday! I'm gonna be 24. One of my friends from rugby said he'd invite me and some of the guys from the team over to his house to hang out that evening because I told him I wanted to make sure to actually enjoy my birthday this year. I hope that happens. Like I probably said, I often have issues with doubting that people will come through for me. But my friends did on Tuesday, so maybe I can trust these guys. I've got some more tentative plans for earlier in the day. I discovered a few days ago that Denny's restaurants offer a free Grand Slam breakfast if you can show them your ID to prove it's your birthday. Some sources online were saying you had to sign up for a rewards program to get that (and those things are a pain to deal with sometimes, especially for a place like Denny's that I never go to. There's really not a particularly convenient location for me. There's one or 2 that I can get to without having to transfer buses, but it'll still be annoying to get there since the buses are pretty bad on Sundays. I called the location I'm planning to go to so I could make sure they won't just stare at me like wtf when I ask for free breakfast. They said they participate and you don't have to sign up or buy anything. Think I'm gonna go pretty early even though they sell breakfast all day because I kind of want it in the morning. There's a game I want to watch at around 10 am (Spurs' last game of the season I think.) I doubt it could be as awesome as the one on Thursday, but hopefully I'll still enjoy myself. COYS (had to ask my friend what that meant when I started following a few Spurs accounts on Twitter. Still seems weird but I guess I have to get used to it.) I'm really gonna try to enjoy myself this weekend.

Oh my goodness everything in here looks so delicious! I'll have one of @Kira75 's warm blueberry muffins and a stack of those amazing Nutella and banana pancakes that @nobodyknows71 is serving. Followed by a long walk along the lake to work off those calories! :p
@baywasp I'm toasting you with my favorite boba slush flavor: Taro/Vanilla with boba. These cupcakes are for you (and anyone who'd like one too)! Hope you have a wonderful birthday weekend!

I'm new to the café but it looks like some nachos would go well with this mix of dishes. Sorry the picture is huge, but there are a lot of people celebrating an early birthday.

HAPPY EARLY BIRTHDAY @baywasp!!! :D I hope it goes even better than you hope!
As for the challenge, yesterday (and today too) was the Detroit Zoo's annual adoption event so I got to see penguins, the polar bear, adorable bush dogs, and try to find a new furry best friend. It was a pretty good day. I'd never seen a bush dog before but they were very active and very cute. 10/10 will go to the zoo again.

Happy birthday hope you have a great day. Love Sees and Teavana. I have way too much tea but all in storage for now but I wish I had these today makes me want to go to the mall and indulge. I am addicted to teavana and Birthday freebies so much fun. Sign up for some of the clubs for next year lots of freebies and normally a week to use only problem is you will gain 10 pounds but who cares free food

Yes they do, and they had fun, the only time they weren't leading was the last goal of the game, but they enjoyed themselves and don't take it to seriously so it was all good.

Yay! A party in the Cafe! Happy Birthday @baywasp :) I got out the birthday throne for you. As this weekends challenge was to get some fresh air, I've decided to put it outside for you...

I know we were meant to be cooking our own dishes this weekend but as it's so busy, I hired a Chef to do my share of the cooking. There's a beautiful roast and some amazing roast veggies for anyone who doesn't eat meat...

There's no such thing as too much cake so while I had the Chef, I got him to bake 2 cakes!! And there's also a special party hat for you to wear and balloon! :D
