Just wanting to share some things I got recently, namely a nice vinyl record "Sarah Neufeld - Detritus" (made a gif image of my setup and vinyl spinning) and some great loose leaf tea:

Hopefully it's anonymous enough, jajaja - I was at a vinyl record store the other day with a friendly friend who made this photo of me, .
If you look top right of the higher positioned shelf on the wall behind me, you can see the Sarah Neufeld - Detritus record laying there. Which I bought a week later or so at that place.

Do any of you still buy music? Vinyl, digital, CD, cassette etc? You have my blessings

Nice memories. I still buy tangible music and use the vinyl and CD's. I have many cassettes ...a lot recorded on them not available otherwise.. I miss massive Tower Records in Austin... it was one of the hours long hangout locations for decades. They would carry all the local artists in town and in Texas and Oklahoma. It was nice seeing all the people I knew stocked on the shelves. I had to finally find a new receiver last year, my system setup from the 70's, 80's, and 90's and 15 year old CD player has served well. Not sure what I'll do when the speakers finally blow. I'm a tea girl, dedicated space for them all....my recent favorites are some Rama Holy Basil Leaf I found and a Kukicha Twig Tea along with the Chai I've been making for years. And whatever I pick and throw in from the herb garden. I'm a little chatty, just went through a hurricane last night

I'm currently drinking my favourite beer with my lunch - Mythos and calamari, a perfect combination ❤️


I love vinyl. Still have my deck from when I was a kid (so it's antique by now) and it's still playing great. Every week, as soon as I got my wages I'd go to our local record store and buy an album. It felt like a real event as I'd walk home clutching my purchase, marveling at the cover or even better if it was a special edition coloured or picture vinyl. I must admit I do tend to buy CD's now for convenience and so I can play them in my car - I haven't managed to catch up with Spotify etc yet.

I'm generally more of a coffee girl than tea but a good cup of tea is a pleasure. I'm fairly traditional for the UK in my taste in tea - strong with a decent amount of milk (always 1% fat, the full fat is too creamy and the fat free is pointless). If I'm feeling adventurous I might sometimes deviate to Earl Grey.

I love a wonderful cup of good black tea. an Irish friend taught me how to make a real cup and pitcher of tea years ago...not what Americans usually dunk and drink. I can't drink several cups of it at a sitting anymore though, Lol.

I never had any vinyl records myself, but I used to like to look through my dad's collection. I don't remember all of what he had, but I do remember seeing a few records by The Clash. We didn't have anything to play them on though.

The indie record label I'm obsessed with still mostly seems to sell a lot of vinyl, but sometimes cassettes and the occasional CD. I don't have any means of playing any of those types of music currently. If I'd consider buying music, I'd probably just do it digitally. I own a few albums and EPs digitally on Bandcamp. One came with a tee shirt I bought, and the rest came with a subscription to one of my favorite artists. So yeah, my actually owned music collection consists of only 2 artists (dust from 1000 yrs and Mister Goblin) and I mostly just listen on Spotify. But when I have more money I'd like to be able to financially support more of my favorite artists. I kinda miss my old CD collection. I had a fair amount when I was younger but couldn't bring them when I moved across the country in 2014.

I'm a fan of tea. I just don't drink it enough. One of my favorite teas I've had is an herbal tea flavored like peppermint bark. This might horrify some tea traditionalists out there, but it's really delicious.


Also, this comment is extremely US-centric, but I just found out that today is National Virginia Day. Didn't really know that was a thing, but shoutout to anybody who lives there. Off the top of my head I can only think of @LonelyHiker but I'm sure there's more of you, and anybody I have forgotten can feel free to tell me off. I am going to tell my sister about the holiday in case she hasn't heard, since she's been living there a bit now.

Love the prompt today, Ken. Or should I say Yogi? I have made good use of downloading and streaming, but I never stopped buying physical music, I only made the change from CD to records. I just like physical media and don't trust streaming services to keep their selection, etc., so I still buy movies and books and everything. I have a pretty big vinyl collection. My Discogs account is not up to date, but if it was I think it would hit the four-digit mark.

Thanks for the invite @Citizen Insane great theme for a cafe. I mainly listen to music on YouTube. As a kid we had a stereo system with radio, vinyl, cassette and 8 track. Was pretty cool to listen to the old radio shows on the records. I rarely drink, if I do it's a type of hard cider or hard liquor. Have a good night everyone

Thanks for the tag. I don't have any turntable but I've kept two Vinyl records. One is Edgar Bergen's Lessons in Ventriloquism. Actually, I don't think he was that great a ventriloquist because you can still see his lips move, which a good vent is not supposed to do. So I would say Paul Winchell was better than him.
The other Vinyl I've kept is Music from Mad Magazine. If you know Mad Magazine, then you know its music is really scatterbrained. One of the music selections consists of burps set to music.
I agree with you that Bubblebear gave a great recommendation with the Genmai Tea, as I drink that tea every day. It has a very soothing effect, so I use it with my Buddhist meditation.

hey citizen thank you, thank you!!! I love loose tea and vinyl. my favorite tea is earl grey (I have a favorite brand). I also love Barooti Assam, darjeeling, various Japanese green teas, and lots of etceteras. certainly I love vinyl as well. unfortunately my collection is kinda out of reach for the time being. I do have to mention my fascination with another medium for recording. that is wire and I do have a wire recorder. I was in a garbage dump at the right time.
But no tea today! porter was my beverage of choice and the usual early morning coffee brewed from freshly ground whole beans. sorry I don't have any pics.

Pretty good and fun to see and read the memories. My brother and I grew up with vinyl the hard part here with it and all the old pictures and such would be locating which box and which closet things are in. Our dad was an avid listener and collector of vinyl and had stuff that went from the late 1960s back for decades.

Hey you know what? I still use my 30GB video iPod.
I take it to the gym with me because it's easier to change songs. You don't have to look at the buttons. or unlock your phone to do it. just feel/click with your fingers.. Especially if jogging or lifting and you gotta focus but, hate the song playing.

I am so embarrassed about it lol!! People seeing me with it at the gym! But your right it still works!! Why not? I wish those would come back...
