Happy Thanksgiving to all who are celebrating *stars

For those who are maybe alone today please do celebrate with us. And for those who don't have Thanksgiving where they are, happy Thursday :)

What are your plans for today? Do you have anything planned for the weekend (this week seems to have taken forever!)?

What do you have to be thankful about today?

Pull up a chair and grab a coffee, breakfast or smoothie :)

Sitting with my coffee enjoying the cat on my lap while midnight syndicate is playing “ghostly” Christmas music. It’s actually an orchestral rendition of Christmas music that we know with a little bit of a twist. Very soothing. I’m going to have a busy weekend visiting people. Thanksgiving dinner today. My daughter tomorrow. Friend on Saturday and Sunday I will get ready for work. I know I am lucky to have such a busy schedule but I just want some time to myself.
At noon today a local radio station plays a song called Alice’s restaurant which is a 20 minute song which is a classic 1970’s song here in the USA. I hope to catch it. I will be here also to see if I can help someone out with the holiday.
Love to all.

Thanks for opening and tagging me @Sunspots. Happy Thanksgiving to all who celebrate.🦃
My niece cancelled early this morning, said she was too weak to drive. I told her no worries, I understand. But I'm disappointed.

I'm grateful to have my fiance and daughter to enjoy dinner with. Then we have a pie overload. I picked up 2, and my daughter ordered 2.

We'll probably watch a movie or two. My son said he's coming over at 4, so that's good.

I'm grateful for my imperfect life. I do have a job to pay my bills, I'm physically healthy, I love my country and my four children are healthy. I hope everyone's doing as well as possible today.

I'm abit nervous because I'm going to text my oldest daughter later, although we don't speak to wish her a Happy Thanksgiving. I hope she texts me back and thinks of me. Screenshot_20231121-110905.jpg

Thank you for the tag @Sunspots and wishing all who do Turkey Day all the very best!

For the first time ever, it's just my husband and I. We did a cooking marathon in our slow cooker so on Tuesday cooked homemade cranberries, German Chocolate Spoon Cake and Corn Casserole. Today, we will cook the turkey breast and a green bean casserole. We will use our wedding/fancy dishes and eat around 4ish or so. Watch the Detroit Lions game, the Macy's parade (though he wishes we could see the Detroit parade) and just enjoy being with one another.

I am grateful for so many things --- SF and all the wonderful people here --- being able to retire ---spending time with my husband - exploring new interests --- meeting new people--- learning how to be fully in the present moment by slowly but surely accepting the past with graciousness and self-compassion.

Wishing all a wonderful day. So wish I could share some of our feast with all of you as have a feeling we will have lots and lots of left overs-lol.

Thanks for the tag @Sunspots
I'm working today 3-11 PM, and we get free Thanksgiving dinner this evening and time-and-a-half holiday pay (plus extra paid time off) and last year the shift on the evening of Thanksgiving Day was very slow, so hopefully I will be lucky again. Otherwise I wouldn't really be doing anything since my dad doesn't want me around. Will be working on the actual weekend too, but I'm looking forward to my day off tomorrow. Might go to my favorite cafe for a while, then potentially get some Indian food for dinner or something.

Thanks @Citizen Insane for letting me know about Jim’s

I am currently sitting in my car outside Safeway eating a salad. I had a few errands to run before work. Don’t feel like going all the way home to drop everything off and eat. Easier just to chill then head off to work.
I decided to go into work early today so one of my managers could be with her family and not have to spend most of her day at work.
Since it’s just me and Lena this week I really don’t have anything to do today so I don’t mind. Just as long as I don’t have to stay till 9pm again.

I ain’t complaining tho Could be worse could have been one of my thanksgivings in the past when I was homeless.
Still get a tad emotional and haven’t been sleeping well. Trying to keep my mind busy. Noticed I started lashing out a little today though my frustration ,anxiety, fear is manifesting in yelling. And not at anyone just yelling . Probly need to change my attitude before work.

getting ready for customers to ask what I’m doing for thanksgiving though. I hate to point out the obvious ….. getting my snarky remarks ready such as “I’m thinking of going on a day trip to Hawaii “ or “oh I haven’t decided yet, probably working”

I’ll be nice.
Hope everyone tries to have a good day. I’ll be in and out. Wish me luck

Happy Thanksgiving to the Americans here. When I was in my early 20s I dated a guy from Seattle for 3 years so got two Thanksgiving celebrations every year, Canadian and American. :) Score!

Gratitude is so important for mental health. Listing just 3 things you are grateful for each day can actually improve your mood over time, according to studies. I do this on a "sticky note" app on my phone. Today I plan to meditate for 5 minutes about what I'm grateful for in my own life and in the world. My husband and brother and friends top the list. Followed by my cats - one of whom is curled up next to me right now enjoying his afternoon nap, which follows his morning nap and precedes his evening nap.

I recently discovered the website Positive News, an independent nonprofit organization that publishes inspiring news stories and articles. https://www.positive.news/

Happy Thanksgiving everyone. ❤️🌻🌲🥦🍗☕️🥧
I'm actually finishing a mug of coffee atm. : ) hmm, may have had a little too much caffeine

I've made most of the dinner already: cranberry sauce, rocket salad, a slow cooked turkey breast, dressing, green bean casserole (cooked by my daughter), broccoli cauliflower casserole, pumpkin pie w/whipped cream and there will be a stroll around the neighborhood later when it's dark.

I'm grateful for the good things today, putting the big sad monster aside as much as possible and finding some positive bits. Probably later in the night I'll watch a movie.

I wish for a good day and evening to all of us.

Especially those of you who are alone: I am thinking of you and sending hugs and hoping you know that we here are - in a good way - connected. Peace.

Chair pulled; Coffee grabbed; Breakfast, Smoothie (yikes, I better not tell you a story about this word !!!) on to a more tellable tale.

Thanks much for the invite to this happy Thanksgiving Café @Sunspots my friend

Today we were planning on going to my brother's for Thanksgiving dinner but since his live-in former wife has covid, and my son has covid and my sister is recovering from surgery, that dinner was cancelled. being unprepared for any TG dinner at all, we rushed to the supermarkets early enough and purchased the crucial turkey parts and stuffing supplies, yams, and cranberries etc, and hurriedly did an air-fryer special which turned out quite like the real thing. in fact, i'd say it was the real thing. and the turkey unusually tender and juicy! Now we have 2 hours to digest until store bought pukin pie and coffee for dessert. hey Lu, that's plans, right?

Thankfulness: see this pic....

This is my main souvenir of my San Francisco Smashing Ceremony the other week. Shards of colored glass enclosed. A non-revenge revenge, A further coming out of sorts, Catharsis and so on.

At 18 my dream was to smash colored glass to watch it glisten in the sunlight. Years later I wrote a poem about the event that never happened.

But About 10 days ago, because my friend did something quite amazing, my dream was finally facilitated. She saved almost 50 jars over a few months which i colored with tinted Mod Podge in many colors.

Then I smashed the jars (and my 2 friends did some too) in which i symbolically placed all my childhood trauma and the fake me i lived as for so much of my life and miscellaneous other life debris, to finally liberate myself.

A sad past All Smashed to Smitherines, some of which is in that jar pictured above.

This Ceremony And My Friend's Kind Gesture Is What I Am Thankful For - Forever!
