Welcome to the beach cafe/bar/resort
@shania and @Sunday16 will show us where we are
@Petal is on for food
@Rockclimbinggirl for drinks
@walkerbait95 serving
@Kiwi2016 @JacsMom @Citizen Insane @Emerald Hyperion for invites

Come join us @HappilyEverAfter @Lonely85 @Fudgewobble @Lulabelle @HumanExMachina @thismustbetheplace and bring everyone and or something along.

The challenge for today is to do something that you find hard to do, and to list 5 things that you are grateful for.

Today I called my GP's office, my GP called me back and I told him I want to stop using and that I'm scared to because I know I'll be thinking of suicide. That's step one.

I'm grateful that he called me back.
I'm grateful for the people who believe in me
I'm grateful for ellentube
I'm grateful for music
I'm grateful to be able to write

I'm proud of myself today because I went to town grocery shopping with my husband and I didn't stay in the car. Ran into lots of people and only teared up once. Nailed it!!!

I'm grateful for:
A husband who fully supports me
A cat who thinks I'm the best thing in the world
My therapist who thinks outside the conventional box
The cosiest fire on a really cold night
The kangaroos that keep me company everyday when I meditate

I'm ready for this party to go ALL night baby!!

Good morning everyone! Thanks @Innocent Forever for opening and @Kiwi2016 for inviting me along. :)

My challenge is easy. I must return something I borrowed years ago to someone who quite likely doesn't even remember me. *yikes!*

(At Least...)Five Things I'm Grateful for:

my cat, my family, my friends
my home
the rabbits I see on the condo lawns
good health
good food - tasty, nutritious and not scarce atm
things that make me laugh out loud
good books/articles to read
sunshine, thunderstorms, nifty cloud formations, rainbows (especially doubles)
flowers and trees
forests and forest animals
just toddling toddlers are adorable
...and more...

For example, this (read carefully): Americat's Got Talent

*my head suddenly pops up from the sand, and a spit out some sand grains while shaking my head in frustration* Ptooey! Those damned kids buried me in the sand like 5 hours ago and they forgot about me! The tide nearly took me out too! *looks at everyone casually* Anyway, thank you @Innocent Forever for the invite, I thought I heard it when I was drowning in a rush of water awhile ago.

I'll admit for the challenge, I was never too good at the "What are you grateful for" kind of question since I've lived nothing but a life of forced solitude, betrayal, heartache, heavy emotional damage, anxiety, alcoholism, and the kind of deep depression that any sane therapist would refuse to treat, its a bit moot for me... because honestly it was always difficult, if not impossible to discover the better things in life that made staying alive worth the whole process. But I'll try:

I'm grateful for being able to make (most) people laugh.
I'm grateful for my duality because it helped me see everything from two different sides.
I'm grateful for the existence of coffee (even though it makes me nervous).
I'm grateful for butterscotch.
I'm grateful for my out-of-this-universe-but-cannot-hope-to-be-contained sense of humor.

I can however, answer the one thing I find hard to do: Live.

Okay, okay, not to be downer now, but on the bright side, I made a sandcastle!

You're probably asking: "Wait a second, how'd you make a sandcastle if you were buried up to your head the entire time?"

.......... I'M JUST THAT GOOD, OKAY?! I'M JUST THAT GOOD.

Grateful for my job
Grateful for my nice apartment
Grateful for two days off...
(thinking furiously...)
Uh...Grateful for my internet connection
Grateful for Mike the Cat, aka Floppy Poppy

Thanks for inviting me:)

Hi every one hope you all having a good time
Thanks for the invite kiwi :)
I think the hardest thing for me is to find the courage to leave my narcissist mother and start building a new life for me from scratch..
Every day I think about me jumbing of the living room window and claim my life back after 20 years of abuse
And I'm grateful for
1)God for loving me and showing me his way and gaiuding me all those years
2)the fact that I can speak Wright and talk in excellent English even though I'm a high school drop out,bc knowing English has opend so many words for me and was a major part in helping me like finding this amazing place
3)and this is No 3 finding this safe place whear I find a really good frinds and being heard and understood I love each one of you guys
4)who said to have good frinds you must meat them in real life?!I'm so grateful for my online friends ,who prove that good ppl do exist even if they are rare
5)I'm grateful I found a therapist who can understand what I'm going throw and once I'm out from this abuse I will go to see he regularly to help me to deal with the trama I enduer all those years

Ahh, love it! Something difficult, hey... then I think I'll tackle my room today. It's a total mess, because I just never have the courage to clean it, but I think if I can even just clear the floor today, that'll be a big step for me :)

As for five things I'm grateful for:
1. My beautiful, gorgeous, hilarious, compassionate, inspiring sister. She is my umbrella in the rain.
2. My grandparents. They are parents to me and all of the good parts of me come from them.
3. Having the opportunity to go to University, to meet new people, to live independently, to spend my time learning and developing my passion for a subject I love and ultimately being able to use my experience to help others and make a difference in their lives.
4. The sea. I've never felt calmer than being sat on the cliffs at Portpatrick watching the waves rustle against the shore or more alive and passionate than watching huge waves sweep towards the sea wall in the Isle of Man and crash and shatter into the air.
5. All of you, and this forum. I would not be here without your support and kindness. Even this list has made me really thankful for the things in my life, and the amount of compassion and empathy you guys have pulls at my heart strings. You're all absolutely brilliant :D

(EDIT: I forgot my dog, Bucket. He definitely deserves a worthy mention on this list. Not only is he the best listener and the most adorable creature but he is just SO SQUISHY ^.^ haha)

Sending all my hugs

Em

You think if I ask them very nicely, they would take that wall back they built not a million miles from where I live? Was just a thought o_O

Today, I went to the pharmacy to pick up my meds, always a challenge for various reasons.

1: Very grateful that I found, then rediscovered this place.
2: Grateful to have a partner who works so hard so I don't have to
3: Grateful to have such a wonderful granddaughter
4: Grateful that I have survived another day
5: Grateful to Jims CafΓ© because I usually find something within its walls to make me laugh or smile.

Thanks for the invite @Kiwi2016 :)

My challenge was to go out in public and (cue the jaws music)..The Mall in a sleeveless shirt, plain jane, no cover-up. A huge and frightening act for a self conscious person as myself. Yet, i did it and I'm still breathing

The five things i'm grateful for.., I will narrow it down as I'm grateful for alot.

1) my children. Even though our lives haven't been the typical cookie cutter family, I am so grateful and proud of rthem. Growing up learning afflency isn't everything it's about knowing who you are and finding happiness in your life.

2) my parents. Without their support and love, I probably would be homeless or dead.

3) music. It is one of my expressions when I cannot talk or think. It's a healthy outlet for me to sit back and vibe to.

4) Nature. Its my inner calm. I'm just a hippie at heart :p

5) my dogs, past and present their bonds and loyalty are unbeatable and unforgettable.

6) I'm thankful JUST to be alive. And to finding others on SF that make me feel visible and not so alone.

Sorry, that was 6..what can I say tho I'm a rule breaker:cool:haha

4, ice cream
