Ideas & Opinions Just a little longer

#1
A week ago, I finally determined an exact date and time, when and how I'm going to kill myself if I don't manage to fix my life. It's a very realistic amount of time, not a week or a month. During it, I can technically achieve whatever I want, simply if I'm functioning correctly. I've felt better since then, my life has become brighter and more optimistic, and when a wave of depressing and suicidal thoughts appears, I experience instant relief because of understanding that in the best case scenario I'd become happy in X days or less, and in the worst case scenario, I'd get rid of the suffering in X days. I can't lose here, and I can endure another year or so. Have anybody done something similar with 100% confidence and seriousness, or ended up with "I can't do that..."?

In the book “Steppenwolf,” the main character starts severely depressed. He has a deal with himself; he can commit suicide at a certain point in the future, but until then he’ll see if he can take a bit more in hopes that his life becomes more bearable in the meantime. When that point comes, he always decides that he can put it off a bit longer, but knowing that it’s an option is comforting.

I felt much the same way myself, and spending time here has shown me that that’s fairly common. Hopefully your life does get to where you want it to be before then. If it doesn’t get all the way there, hopefully there is enough good, just enough happiness, that you decide you can put it off a bit longer again.

Honestly, it sounds very unattractive and more like a copium and a half-measure. I was pretty sad when I was writing that post, but right now when I'm in a relatively-good mood I still understand that the changes must be radical and there are no other options. The whole point is to be honest with yourself and respect the deadlines... a literal one in this case.

I used to say that when my mother passed away I would Km. I then thought of the others in my life that would be effected, my niece and children. Over a significant amount of time, I glued my life back together...mainly myself. It took a lot of introspection and practicing how to function in the world.
It's a different case. Relatives and friends is the most painful nuance for me, but overall, I understand that they'll eventually step over it in a few weeks, and subconsciously they would be happier, since they wouldn't have to think about a failure called (me) anymore. They would never admit it even on 1% to themselves, but it's true.

I used to do something very similar when I was a teenager, so I get why it can bring a sense of relief or control. I really hope that before the date you've set, something changes for the better, even if it's hard to imagine that right now.

Btw, I really like Tomoko too. That anime is so good.

Almost 2 months with negative progress, which is already a visible fraction of that period; if I repeat the same cope like 5 or 10 times and do nothing, I'll finally be free, and thinking about that is my biggest relief yet. I show signs of insanity sometimes, barely feel emotions besides pain, getting annoyed by suicidal thoughts 24/7 that overwhelm anything productive in any condition, can't sleep, don't have energy even if I manage to do the previous one, recently got sick with some weird shit that isn't going away despite my good immune system and physical shape (for now), and in general feel like I'm already on the latest stage, where if not by my hands, then by a heart attack, an impulsive decision, or whatever the depression can cause. If you think that I'm not trying to fix everything and just whining here, you will be true and wrong at the same time. I need the results, which will be achieved if I manage to fix myself - not copium, fake happiness, or some other retarded meaning forced by a mechanism to keep you alive and suffering as long as possible. I can't physically do things because of derealization, mental degradation, and everything above combined. Meanwhile, the irl problems have started to stack and move my goals further away, but they don't bother me much, since there's no meaning anymore. I can guarantee myself to survive until that date, as my last promise; not to kill yourself for a while, isn't that hard, right? Maybe I'll be attention-whoring from time-to-time in this thread with tor, because of course I'm ashamed of myself and cringing like never before.

I'm sorry things are worse. I could make some suggestions about treatment methods if you'd like, but I won't mind if you're not interested.

I hope things can get better somehow.
