Venting Lithium Withdrawal

I’m having Lithium withdrawal and am moody so the psychiatrist put me on extra Klonopin for now. But man am I tired from the Klonpoin and am still adjusting to less Lithium. I’m not sure if she intends to adjust the Lamictal later as well or she is still happy with the dose the hospital prescribed. Ugh, wish it could just get straightened out. Being moody is really not helpful in having me feel less depressed. I hate this!!!

I get it. I am on 300mg Lamotrigine daily. I was prescribed lithium before, but I had to quit because of tremors. Doc didn’t prescribe me benzodiazepines though. I have never had a provider who wasn’t loathe to prescribe anything that has a potential for abuse.

I have had to turn to non drug strategies to stabilize my anxiety and moods. Meditation is one, but there are also things like grounding exercises, taking a walk or stretching, and some somatic techniques I learned from my therapist.

Yeah, I had tremors as well. I’m thinking she probably only prescribed benzos because I live in a group home so meds are locked and there is more supervision. Grounding exercises have helped me as well.

I learned one thing over the years: be it Heroin, opiates, diazepam, Xanax, alcohol... - all can be phased out. For each medication you can find tips online, Some medication is reduction a little bit every day or every 3rd day, some daily to be taken later.... but it is possible. I got rid of a lot of these shit medication - I am working on the last one I took for the last 35 years (in low dose, but its the time that makes it hard).

Funny to see that smoking is the hardest to get rid off. Ever realized that? Or is it just me?

Proud of your doing well. Smoking is really bad though maybe go to a hypnotist
