my pain is still a little higher but not too much. i'm mostly doing a lot better and hopefully pain levels will return to normal next month.

some fulll size truck pulling a 20 - 25 foot trailer pulled out of a side steet onto the main road i was on today. he pulled right out in front of me only around 60 feet give or take.. i have standard drum brakes on my 64 dodge so i need extra room to stop. i was doing 35 mph so i had to slam on the brakes and went skidding a little sideways and missed the truck by only 2 or 3 inches. both dogs got a sore leg out of it when they flew to the floor. they are around 14 yo chihahaus. i hurt my leg. i somehow bruised the back of my shin only about a 3 and screwed up my back on both sides about a 4.

over time you’d come terms to these losses. whatever people say to you, I can gurantee that at the end of the day, its still you that decides on what to feel whether or not you have chronic pain. most times it can make me feel helpless, and thats definitely okay for me rather than having someone using chronic pain as an advantage thinking their innerworse is the most special and be the most bitter person of their lifes. over time, I don’t stop grieving about it or feel disappointed about it, I just stop making other people happy. if you’re in a clinical world frequently, you’re no different. i can think on my own and even acknowledging my own struggles.

my pain has changed a bit lately. i used to have to take pain meds starting around 4 pm but lately i have to take them in the mornig also. my pain has been a bit higher but i've been able to lower it a little easier.

my lower legs and back still hurt from yesterdays close call with a truck/trailer. just sprain or strain i guess but nothing severe

I can only hope he just didn't see you, instead of being such a jerk on purpose. I'm sorry that you and your dogs got hurt. I'm glad it wasn't worse than it was though.

i really hope he was just being a jerk otherwise he shouldn't be driving. my 64 dodge is huge , it's almost 20 feet long and wider than any newer vehicle i've seen so if he didn't see me he's blind, he must be deaf also, and if he couldn't hear me . i have a custom dual exhaust with dual side discharge 3 in pipes which makes it sound like the world is coming to an end, worst part is he looked shortly before he pulled out lol

So far I can manage the pain without the aid of pain meds, the bad days have gotten worse as I've aged and will continue to get worse. Pain meds are a huge No for me simply because I am a stay at home mom and must be able to funtion, also I don't like the way they make me feel and can't sleep them off lol. For some reason people think my pain isn't bad enough because I choose not to use pills, this is unfair and a little invalidating.
Anyways I walked around town for two hours tonight so will wake up feeling worse than usual, its really begining to suck that I don't have a hot water heater as hot showers are a primary pain reliever especially for the arthritis in my neck.
Accupunture and a good Chiropracter would be helpful, I'm just afraid of becoming paralyzed from it lol

A study published in the British Medical Journal found no serious adverse events occurred as a result of treatment with acupuncture within the study's sample. It estimated serious adverse events to occur less than once for every 10,000 treatments, making it much safer than many conventional medical treatments.

Arthritis is one of the things that acupuncture is especially good at treating. I can't comment on the safety or efficacy of chiropractic treatments, as I have no experience with them.

Community style acupuncture and teaching clinics usually offer the lowest prices. If you'd like help with the research I'd be glad to try.
it's ok i will look into it locally and through my insurance company thank you for the offer

. as for opioid pain meds there may come a time that you have no choice. of course that should be the last choice after everything else is tried. depending on which pain med and what dose if it will intefere with being a stay at home mom. i would talk with your doctor about pain relief and tell him opioid meds would be a last resort. i have other things i do to lower pain so i use less pain meds.

different people have different pain tolerences. so what might be a 5 for me could be a 3 or 7 to someone else. all pain is valid. i think you are doing a good job so far dealing with the pain

Obviously, the pain, the dogs' injuries, etc. are rather unfortunate, but missing an accident by mere inches is always a fun story to recount.

this is invalidating of my pain, just because I choose other options than drugs doesn't mean my pain is somehow less. Because its not, and who are you or anyone really to decide that?
