gosh its not really hurting anyone, and for someone who is lonely it might be great. The doll will never leave ya, or fight with ya or whatever, never says no.... there ya go, and it could stop some sexual abuse... possibly subsiding the sexual tension enough so it does not highten enough to follow through with something actually physical with a woman... that was not willing or a child. ya never no it might.

Anastasia, I think you are being a bit too upset about this topic. There are benefits of the love doll technology besides the sexual aspect. The dolls are in the development of becoming more realistic and eventually will become robotic. Having android beings in existence is one of the greatest assets to humankind in many ways. After all, sex is a basic human need. Not only in terms of physical pleasure, but in terms of human development. Android techonolgy can also allow for development of artifical body organs and such for human transplants. Scientists can use these androids to study how these body organs can function in androids. Scientists can perfect the body organs in androids rather than risky testing in humans. Medicines also can be tested in androids rather than in studies using humans and animals. This ought to speed-up the discovery of new advancements in medicine.

I'm not getting upset, and androids for medical advancement is one thing, but having sex with an inanimate object to which you assign a personality is just plain creepy. Can you imagine if anyone ever found out? I would run like hell in the other direction if I walked into a guy's closet and found one of those things. Also, it doesn't solve the underlying problem, which is a lack of true intimacy. If anything, it only makes it worse because it makes people complacent about getting out there and actually finding a meaningful relationship. If someone is that desperate, they can go buy Jenna Jameson's "setup" at the local porn shop. The whole doll thing with the face and hair and clothes is just bizarre and very, very creepy. I can't even sleep with a doll in my room, let alone fuck one. Dolls and clowns. Two things I NEVER want to have sex with.
Regarding the sexual aspect of love dolls, perhaps once they advance more and they are computerized, they can be programmed to respond like a human during orgasm in ways which will allow the person having sex with it to improve sexual skill. For example, if a man has sex with a female android, with practice, the man can improve his sexual skill so that they can be more confident with women. Of course, I realize that every woman responds differently to various sexual acts, etc, though a female android certainly could help a man improve sexually, and in a safe way, without the man going around catching and spreading diseases.

A love doll is more than a sex toy, and it certainly has the potential of becoming a sex training object. Not only that, I think that women would be happy to have an experienced man whose experience is from a safe, disease-free android, rather than from a half-dozen or so "real" women, who potentially may have std s.

At the end of the movie, they show her as she is, acting and looking like a human, well, the character is portrayed by a real human female, obviously. Though, the potential for human-like androids, is awesome. I saw it. Good movie. But come on, that's a fantasy and not based in reality. And the androids in this movie were not created for sexual and/or emotional purposes; they evolved that way, which is completely different and highly unlikely IMO. Fantasizing about such things is an escape and in no way productive. The bottom line is that no matter how realistic an android may seem, it has no soul or emotions and would only react using pre-programmed responses, no matter how elaborate they may be.
The movie did not show what the androids were before they were androids. Plus, in the beginning of the movie, the androids appeared to look very robotic, which I don't think will happen with them in reality. The creators and developers of "real dolls" understand that humans don't want to have sex with something that looks like a machine. The skins and models they develop will be able to make these machines look real, while the machinery will simulate human reactions via pre-programmed responses. However, like computers, there will be so many pre-programmed responses and customization options, that the fact that the androids aren't real, will not bother many people, especially if the androids are able to do things which humans cannot do.

Not necessarily. A vibrator for example is in no way even CLOSE to being realistic, but I don't see many women complaining. Nobody would pay an android for work, so everyone would be poor if they had an android to go to work for them (assuming they could afford one in the first place). More realistically, if androids are perfected, they will be mass-produced and sold to companies, putting lots of people out of work. That's exactly what happened when Henry Ford introduced mass-production to the auto industry.
Actually, alot of companies would pay for androids to work, and no, they wouldn't be mass produced and kept in factories for work, when the androids have multiple uses besides working at jobs. Besides, with laws in place, companies would not be allowed to not pay androids.
