Two simple questions to get the discussion started today:

1) Is there a cookie you DON'T like?

2) What are your favorite cookies?


For me, the only cookie I don't like is the ginger snap. I've slowly got to the point where I can tolerate them, but when I was a kid I couldn't even take a bite of one. Peanut butter cookies are a favorite for me, but sometimes I like to just get a few 'Nilla wafers and a glass of milk and watch TV.

I'm not a huge fan of oatmeal raisin cookies. I guess because I don't really like raisins. Give me an Oreo, or a chocolate chip... or pretty much any other kind of cookie in the world... and I'm happy.

I don't like anything with raisins or anything chewy or anything crispy or macadamia nuts or large chunks or ... well I have texture issues so um you get the point.

I LOVE (and I don't use that word to describe many things), a nice soft slightly warm chocolate chip cookie

My least favorite cookie would be Oreo double stuff -too much "stuff" for me, but I like the chocolate part. My favorite would be shortbread.

cannot stand Oreos there are others but nothing with as much hate as I hold old Oreos in

cookies - haven’t eaten a whole cookie in a long time. Here in the uk we have a chain called Millie’s Cookies. They are definitely my favourite, just choc chip, nothing fancy.

I guess I prefer the ones that have been freshly made, still gooey.
Not a fan of nuts or raisins, oatmeal etc. not worth the calories.

Mcvities milk chocolate, plain chocolate chip, anzacs, homemade shortbread, frosted animal cookies, (Christmas-time) rum balls, thumbprint cookies…

I'm sitting in the local train station watching the trains go by and or people coming home from work most likely from Manhattan and I sure wish I had a cookie or two and a hot cup of coffee. sitting here now with not much else to do I came here to see what's going on with the café and I see that the alert machine is apparently not working. so glad I stopped by because without the alert the tag would remain un seen and this deliciously important issue would not be addressed.

you may know I love chocolate so for a favorite, of course it would at least need to be chocolate chip and not adulterated with hazelnuts!!! there, in one swell foop like and dislike.

now add for like, some kind of rich chocolate cookie similar to a brownie or Nabisco Famous Chocolate Wafers or even oreos as long as the cream filling is removed.

and for dislike, you can add fig newton's, and anything with banana or hazelnuts.

and I can almost taste the coffee. hmm station is empty and it's getting chilly. I'll head for home. see you again soon.

OMG I love this thread! I am an avid cookie baker and have baked over 50 kinds. My favourite are chocolate chip pecan, spiced hot chocolate cookies (especially nice at Christmas), and peanut butter cookies (with or without chocolate chips).

Cookies I don't like: I can't think of any, although I did bake some layered orange chocolate cookies with a friend and they turned out really badly - they were called Orange Paradise Cookies and we ended up calling them Orange Hell Bars. LOL

p.s. I have to mention this for anyone like me who is watching their weight: I will make a big batch of cookie dough and freeze it in 2-cookie portions so I won't overeat them.

Oh, the Joy of Cooking has the best brownie recipe on earth. The secret code word for the Joy of Cooking is "cockaigne" - the recipes with that word after it are the authors' favourites.

I don't know about don't like, but there's some I like less. Not as big of a fan of spicy cookies.

Anyway happy (belated) bday to all those members (wow lotsa May.19th bdays lol) hope you all had a nice day!

Fave cookies are chocolate chip, peanut butter, pb chocolate chip, anything with those ingredients basically lol.

Only cookies I don’t like are spicy, ones with too many nuts and ones with raisins (if there’s gonna be small brown dot looking things in cookies they really need to just be chocolate chips lol)
