Misunderstood orthodontist office instructions

#1
I had to get my wire off for some other dental work and I was told to go into the orthodontist “sometime in the morning” and they will do it. I called beforehand but the whole thing seemed pretty inconsequential and the few other times I’ve been there it takes a little over a minute to pop the wires off. Additionally I have an appointment already set later today to get it switched for a larger one anyway. I thought it was a more informal thing because of the tone of everyone involved but I got a call saying I was late and they charged me a cancellation fee. The only reason I wasn’t right on time was because they used language like “pop in” and “sometime in the morning” but the time we discussed I guess was more rigid than I thought. They were super mean to me on the phone too. It’s not the end of the world but these things are really frustrating because I’m not usually late for appointments. It’s nagging at me because I could have Been on time but chose to in a bit later.

That's awful. If they were going to be so strict about this they should have said "be here at [x] exactly or you'll be charged a late fee". I think they're the ones to blame here.

I'm sorry it was like that.

Thanks. It’s a lesson I was going to learn with them sooner or later I guess. I’m just stressed anyway and these things definitely don’t help. I just lost my wallet too. I feel like a mess
