My colonoscopy/endoscopy is coming up soon. I don't know what they'll find.

I've had gut problems and GERD for a long time. So of course the worst case scenario enters my mind: cancer. At the same time I need this procedure so I can finally get answers and maybe even treatment for these ailments. I also didn't think I'd need these procedures at such an early age (34).

So I really don't know how to feel about all of this.

There's a general tendency for people to assume the worst when facing medical unknowns. It's understandable that you might think this way but I don't think it's likely you've got cancer. They don't even bother to do routine screenings for this until someone is 45 or so. Unless you've had a close relative who's had colon cancer at a young age, you probably don't have cancer.

When will you have the procedure?

It's 3 days from now. I think about cancer because I've read that colon cancer in 30s people has been surging.

I hope that all goes well, I had to get one not too many years ago. I hope that yours will be simple and just polyps or otherwise like mine and easy to fix.
