My dad shouted at me angrily

#1
This happened a long time ago when I was still young and I have just started a high school.

One morning I came to our kitchen for a breakfast, my mother and my dad were there already. My mother asked me something about my breakfast. I just nodded my head and I did not said any word yet because I did not slept so well. My dad noticed that I was not my talkative self like I used to be. Some other dad would have asked kindly "are you alright?". But my dad asked me loudly and angrily "WHY DON'T YOU TALK ANYTHING???!!!!!". I don't remember what I answered exactly while being tired and scared, but my dad said something negative to me and walked out of the kitchen. He has always been quite a narcissistic person after all.

I can still remember so well how hot tears filled my eyes entirely right after he left. I remember they felt so hot in my eyes. I skipped my breakfast.

Sorry you have had bad experiences. I did but later in life I learned my parents had been through equally bad experiences, we tend to idealise them but life is tough for everyone. I tend to judge my dad harshly, but I find it quite difficult to cope with life at times and so I have to appreciate he also found life difficult at times.

I could have had a better dad, I could have had a worse dad. Sometimes they go too far I get that, my dad's mate beat the crap out of him, there's no excuses and so I count my blessing there. I guess I'm just saying that life is not simple, it's messy and complicated, we just have to make the best out of it by trying to understand others.
