So, I have been diagnosed with ADHD since about 12 years ago and treating that has helped immensely. Later on I found out that this is a form of neurodivergence (ND going forward). I've been hearing a lot lately about AuDHD meaning both autism and ADHD at the same time. Although a number of personal contacts have "armchair diagnosed" me as being on the Autism Spectrum, my professional therapist disagrees, so at least I dodged that bullet.
However I was more recently diagnosed with OCD, which I've been told is also a case of ND. I was not happy about this. I thought, how can I be OCD if I can't even keep track of both shoes at the same time? As if the ADHD and OCD were supposed to cancel out and leave me NT (neurotypical). Unfortunately for me, the human mind is a little more complicated than an accounting ledger. As I learned more about OCD it has helped explain a lot to me, and using the tools for OCD treatment has really calmed my anxiety levels (albeit from extremely, about to die, anxious - to merely moderate anxiety).
Anyone else have similar experience? As in being ND in 2 or more directions (hence the term "corner" case).
