#21
I can begin to relate to how you are feeling. My community mental health nurse is leaving and im devastated beyond belief. I'm getting a new one but im not coping well with the change.

I hope things work out for you.

I saw a psychiatrist today and she was really good. My advice to anyone is that if you are seeing a counsellor that you don't like, or makes you feel worse, dump em and run!!!

Whilst in the waiting room I was tearing up a little. While I was in there I said I had self harming thoughts, then she delved a bit deeper and admitted to one attempt that I know the CAT team have on record. I am not going to tell her about the other four yet.

She asked about me fasting admitted to one or two days fasts but not to the 15 day fast that I have done.

When she asked what keeps me going, said I didn't know, I didn't say because I haven't found a good method yet.

She said she I wasn't the classic case of depression, it was hard for her to tell the difference between grief and depression. She said I came across very happy and cheary, but to be having self harming thoughts on a daily basis is very serious.

She was 100 times better than the lady I saw two weeks ago. I am so glad I didn't go and see her one more time. I also thought that there might be something wrong with me, and that I was looking for a replica of the first counsellor but now I know thats not true. This lady was happy and outgoing and was laughing as well. Felt much happier after seeing her.

Just an update. My husband rang the place where I saw the other counsellor and the lady wanted me to ring her. After 3 days I finally got the courage to ring her, I even told her that I was putting it off and she said she knew, then she told me she wanted me to see her on Tuesday, as there are some "dilemmas".

I was trying to organise for another counsellor. Now they know that I had to see a psychiatrist, but they don't know that I am going to see her ongoing, well i didn't even know until I got there. As the workplace doctor told me to see both the old counsellor and the psychiatrist. The workplace doctor doesn't know that the old counsellor has left as she left after I had seen the workplace doctor.

I asked this lady from counselling place if she was going to get stuck in to me, she said no. Also that she didn't want me to be anxious. I know that they will probably want me to see someone external, but I am already seeing someone external. It is so confusing. I don't want to be shuffled from one to the next. By seeing someone external I only get so many sessions for free!! By going internal they keep going with you, but I think I might be in the too hard basket.
