I think this is a great way to change your mind to the positive... I'm a long term alcoholic and suffering from depression. Its horrible. Look at AA 'just for today', that really helps me to get by. And it's a challenge and can be fun to work outside your comfort zone.
Just for today:
I will be agreeable, I will look as well as I can, dress becomingly, talk low, act courteously, criticise not one bit, not find fault with anything, and not try to improve or regulate anybody except myself.
I interpret that as , I make sure I have a shower, have had a haircut, ironed my clothes, and spoken to someone where I seem interested. Normal people don't need to be reminded that. I need to constantly remind myself to do that, and it helps. I'm happy to be alcoholic because Bill's words are wise.
