Reading those experiences with Police care makes me very glad about the process here in OZ. Two related stories. For my first attempt, I assume the emergency services were prompted by my crisis line call, even though was not specific about intentions.
That time the local police were very kind, sympathetic and non judgmental even though the action was prompted by a police matter, stayed with me in the house while yet more police came and finally an ambulance so was a lot of activity, after that I don't know because i finally passed out.
Second time was a similar scene, the showed up sat with me then called the ambulance as I hadnt got very far.
During a subsequent chat helping the police with their inquiries around the matter that prompted it all I was surprised at the level of concern and knowledge about the 2 recent events. I ended up thanking them for the good response, respect and professionalism of VicPol which was kind of odd given the overall situation.
