Post Here If You Want "Merry Christmas" Messages

#1
This thread is pretty much the same idea as the SF Christmas Card Thread!, but it's just for messages on SF. In other words, you may not want to give out your home address and get a card in the mail, but you still might want to get "Merry Christmas" messages on your profile and via PM, or be invited to Christmas-related threads. Some people love Christmas and some people hate it, so this thread will help take out the guesswork and let folks know if Christmas messages are welcome.

I'll tag some folks, but please also feel free to add your name to this thread if you're not on here already.

Merry Christmas is always welcome even though if anything I am agnostic mainly because of the well wishes from all of the Holiday Greetings and wishes from all even those with different religions. It is the intent more than the actual message for me because most do want well and the best for all around.

While Christmas may be explicitly a Christian religious holiday, many people observe it primarily as a cultural tradition. I don't think there's any biblical observation of when Jesus was born, so in large part Christmas is a Christianized version of the Roman holiday of Saturnalia. A lot of traditions like the Yule log, the Christmas tree, mistletoe, etc., are European pagan traditions.

I like Christmas as a holiday celebrating good will and community, and I like things like the Christmas lights and Christmas songs. A lot of people who are not Christian, or not especially religious celebrate Christmas.

Reviving this thread for any folks who'd like to join but haven't already. Really, I should have done something like this a month ago, but getting stuff done in time is a weak point for me.

Merry Christmas to all those who celebrate it!

Please feel free to add yourself to the list if you haven't already by posting on this thread. :)
