I accidentally closed something and didn't know my nephew's finger was there. I felt bad enough, but even worse when he tried to kick me and called me a name he shouldn't even know. Sometimes I don't know how to deal with him.

Accidentally took the wrong suitcase out of the bottom compartment of the bus, watched the thing roll away from me. There is no way to contact the operator or main service provider really. Don’t know how to get in contact with person whose bag it is either. Filed and email to report lost/found baggage but now out of ideas on how to fix things. Just feel bad for the person whose bag I took, I mean I lose my shit all the time but accidentally confusing my bag with a duplicate is the first ;;
Damn damn. That must be so stressful (for both of you). I would probably open their suitcase and search for any indication on who it might be, we never know. For your own suitcase, I'd keep contacting them any way possible. :/

It also reminds me to put a label on my suitcase for tomorrow, thanks. ^^

Why is every piece of help set up for the poor and suffering so full of holes? And those programs end up being used by people who should never be allowed to use them. Like the multi-millionaire in my husband's class a few years ago who owns 5 houses but collects $900 a month welfare disability from the Canadian government for his disabled daughter.

Meanwhile if one member of a couple is disabled and the other earns more than some ridiculously low amount like $1500 a month, the disabled person can't get a cent, at least of provincial/welfare disability.

Another thing is that if someone is trying to get into subsidized housing and they are living with family, even comfortably in their own suite, they are considered "homeless" and will have top priority. Whereas someone in substandard, dangerous housing is considered "housed" and could wait up to 10 years.

If it's any consolation kids act out the worst, for those they feel safest with. Also my son went through a few rough patches, sports and other activities really helped out a lot. Most of it was free or low cost too.

He starts school again tomorrow so hopefully that will give him some structure. And I should try not to take it too personally if he acts that way, because his anger tends to get the best of him.

a little more than 5 tears ago i almost croaked, actually i croaked twice, once in the ambulance and once in the hospital, i think my wife said the ambulance was a minute or two and the hospital was 2 or 3 minuets. . god called me home and i decided to stay. god has a cruel sense of humor, now he put me on a waiting list lol

i know i'm an old broken record when it comes to my chronic pain. i think it's finally time to end the suffering. since i need to do everything myself i need to take stock of my life including chronic pain/illnesses.

the way i look at it is i have 3 choices.

1. suicide, on the surface it looks like a perfect solution but i have many reasons why i can't go through it.

2. just suffer and try to survive until i get to go home. my doctor and i discussed my time left and as of last year probably 5 to 10 years. i could go tonight and on the outside it could be 20 or 30 more years. not feasible to keep suffering if i live that long

3. rethink all of my pain solutions. i can only get so many opioids and it's not likely to increase soon. since i'm on only around 25% of the opioids i used to get i have to find something else to help.
A) opioid pain meds
B) gabapentin or a replacement for gabapentin
C) muscle relaxant. i need to increase dosage and frequency
D) tens unit. it's a pain in the ass but it does help
E) mmj. i use a 1000 mg chocolate bar, since it's so potent i get 10 to 20 doses per bar. i also use a mmj salve with thc intact.
F) miscellaneous things. i think of other ways to help. i had another pretty bad spike tonight but it's finally going down.

sometimes i have to go through things and change meds etc. i just got over a really anxious financial issue. i had to come up with over a thousand bucks so they didn't disconnect our lights. it was rough but i'm all caught up, this means we have a little extra money. those 1000 mg chocolate bars are $50 or 3/$100 which sounds like a lot but it's worth it. my mmj salve is only $20 and i use 1 or 2 a month. so worse case scenario is $140 a month and makes a big difference. i am so f$#king tired of these bad pain spikes. although when i work on it like this it gives me hope. my mood is good and i know i will win the war on pain, i may lose some battles but i will win the war. i'll probably never ever be pain free again but i know i can get it down to a safe level. and for anyone out here that suffers chronic pain or knows someone who does all i can say is never give up and fight for yourself. most important is having a doctor that works with you

I really hope you can get some relief. You are trying so hard and it's disturbing you have to deal with the pain. *hug10 *sadhug

I wish the luck and fortune and pain and loss in the world were more evenly distributed. I know everyone has problems but some people have far fewer problems. And with good fortune it's the same - it's unequally distributed.

My city of Vancouver has the highest cost real estate in the world, and therefore we see inequity on a dramatic scale. Condos costing 5 million dollars are a few blocks away from old decaying hotels where the welfare housing allowance of $375 per month won't even get the unfortunate tenants a safe room the size of a bathroom to sleep in. A news crew went into one of these hotels and most of the doors don't even lock. Heck many of the rooms don't have doors. It's a toss up whether the people in the smelly unsafe rooms are any better off than the people sleeping in tents on the pavement.

And I hear a lot of poor bashing. As if somehow the broken people who inhabit the shadows had the same opportunities as the powerful. I know it's not true because I grew up poor - you don't go through the world with the easy confidence, good dental work and a body fuelled by years of proper nutrition and low stress. Everything from your haircut to your car is inferior. It's not a level playing field in any way.

thank you @Lady Wolfshead . if i can keep trying it doesn't seem as hopeless. the non opioid things i try don't work nearly as well. but i look at it this way : if i even lower my pain by less than 1 point it's small but with other things bring the pain down to where i can survive it. the muscle relaxants are showing promise. it's too early to tell but i think it could make a noticable difference. with me able to afford the mmj and the muscle relaxants i have strong hope. the sad thing is it's mostly my fault. i smoked heavy from 11 to 61 so that explains my bad copd and i worked as a weaver in a textile plant. that means running straight out most of the times on concrete floors. and since i was a workaholic that usually worked from 60 to 80 hours a week and a few times over a hundred hours a week he said if it didn't cause my disability it made it a lot worse. do i desrve the chronic pain/illnesses? no but it was my fault

Well, I'm sure you also had to work hard to support your family so I wouldn't call it your "fault" and doing hard physical labour is usually not a choice. However, I understand there may have been some degree of your own will or autonomy involved, but I would say maybe not much. Anyway I hope you find solutions. *hug *shake

Totally fine to talk about it mike. I've used the tens unit before, and it helped a lot. The PT work was hard but then they'd put me on a massage table and hook that up. So it was a sort of reward and relaxed the painful area. Anyway. Sendimg hugs, maybe it's magical thinking but they help a little. *console
