I hate knowing that I'm not smart and make stupid decisions.
You sound pretty smart to me after reading this thread. And like KM mentioned, wise and also open to learning is what I have come to understand as "smart". And sometimes the more intellectual knowledge someone "has", the narrower their awareness and behaviors can be. Oh, and every person makes "stupid" decisions at times in their life. It's not something to berate self about, only try not to make the same mistake again if possible. And if that happens then try again......

My major complaint is: doctors and the US health system.

Long story short, I have no thyroid and have taken a replacer since my 20s. A year or so ago my levels weren't right, not terrible, but not right. So I was switched to a different replacer. A year later my levels are non existent, and have been switched back to the replacer I was on to begin with.

They (doctor) are saying that it will take months to level out. The fatigue and brain fog are horrible, and its been a year already, now its more months of feeling like the walking dead.

I sat in the doctor's parking lot and thought about death, how that would be preferable to this. I wondered how many people commit suicide in their doctor's parking lots.

I have to post this somewhere. It may be triggering so don't read if you are really sensitive. A father in Washington State picked up his three daughters, ages 5, 8 and 9, for visitation. There had never been a problem. The girls enjoyed visiting with him. But he did not return on schedule. Their bodies were found yesterday. How can someone do this to three little girls. No sign of dad. But they will find him. They have to.
I like the idea of them catching him and being punished. I can't post what I believe should happen to the person, it would be deleted, but three kids, young, innocent and should be able to trust their father. That trust should never be broken.

I'm experiencing severe constipation, a side effect of my meds. A few days ago, the pain was so intense I went to the emergency department. Thankfully, X-rays showed no blockage, and an enema fixed it. Since then, I've been taking laxatives as directed, but they haven't been effective, and I'm concerned about another ED visit. I'm not sure what I should do.
There's a yoga pose which can be done a couple of times a day to assist, just as an adjunct not a cure in itself. A friend of mine takes psillium in capsules every day, as a preventitive for it. Have to drink extra water. There's the brand called metamucil which is psillium with added flavour and sweetener. It is added to water and becomes a drink. That is handy since the body needs a lot of water for good digestion. I hope you feel better and your body balnaces out soon.

that is horrific. this kind of thing extreme violence happens more than we can imagine these days. maybe it's time for another ark so humanity is washed away. the good go to heaven, the bad to hell, and we reset humanity

Stupid and punished by huge anxiety over losing control of some things which were left overseas. I should've organized all of it before leaving, but didn't, due to stupidly allowing a sense of being overwhelmed to take over.
it's not your fault that you were overwhelmed. you are starting fresh which is hard but you are handling it ok. try to be kind to yourself for having the courage to start over

I have thyroid problems as well. Mine was called Graves Thyroid disease, as soon as she said it, she said ''dont worry it's just the name of the person that, however you say it, founded that disease''... so I had radio iodine and radiation. I am a strange person, one year I decided myself, maybe I dont need it. I asked my doctor to check if it could ''heal itself'' and he's like no. So that was a year of being tired and sleepy. Hopefully you get the right level back. I felt good on a higher dose of levothyroxine, but my doctor put me on a lower dose. As you'd know it controls metabollism and brain activity and everything. I Hope you get the right help for it. I can't force my doctor to put me on a bit higher dose again.

i have no choice but taking opioid meds for pain, i literally couldn't live without them. i don't like them except for the fact they reduce, but don't eliminate pain. i seriously don't understand why people use it just to get high.

with all of this negative stuff on opioids we need to do better. if the drug companies really tried i'm sure they could invent a pain med that's non narcotic and actually works. since the government screwed up pain patients already maybe they could help drug companies develop somethng. if i had a choice i would choose non narcotic if it worked

I wish my parents were never born.
But fine , I wish they never got married and started a family
And I wish people wouldn't get married and have children like it's a game . It's serious and yet I see so many parents having children while they are not ready to be parents , the real , good ones atleast
So fuck my mom and dad

the mess the cdc and dea made 9 years ago. the shortages on morphine is getting worse. i need morphine for severe chronic pain and i couldn't live without them. since december i have to keep calling around to see who has them then i call my doctor and tell him where to send the prescription.

a few times i had to do it twice because they don't have enough. this time when i called one of the hanneford pharmacies they treated me like a drug seeker junkie. they didn't say it but the attitude was there. i have been on opioid meds for around 25 years and have always been responsible.

this upset me to no end. it made me starting to question if it was all worth it. mild to moderate tjoughts. it also made me realize i no longer have a plan for just in case.

I am sorry you're going through it and had to go through that experience. I hope things work out for you.

So I've been getting close to someone, and now my mom said I shouldn't get my hopes up. She said I can't expect some wedding and fairytale ending, and I'm doubting myself again. She always seems to have negative things to say about my looks, or my career choices, or my life in general. And I'm just crying and feeling heavy hearted.
