Pretty sure I had a stroke or TIA today

This morning, shortly after getting out of bed, my right arm suddenly went numb and stayed numb for about two hours. This is very similar to what happened last year when I had my first TIA, which also involved numbness in my right arm.

I didn't call an ambulance or go to the hospital this time. I feel completely fine now, but this could have been another TIA or possibly a silent stroke.

I really don't want to go to the hospital if it's not necessary, so I'm looking for some honest feedback. Am I taking a stupid and potentially dangerous risk by staying home, given my history (I've had 3 TIAs)? Should I go to the ED even though the symptoms have completely resolved? I'm not sure why I'm hesitating. Perhaps I am just sick of hospitals. Perhaps it's an act of self-harm. I'm not really sure.

Just putting this out there.

I hope you've chosen to go the ER and yet I understand the avoidance. By now it's early morning there. Maybe, I don't know, if you still feel you don't want to go, then make use the sense of us on Sf wanting you to take care of yourself and get to the doctor.

I also do my best to avoid hospitals, so I very much get where you’re coming from. That said, don’t fuck around with this. A few hours in the ER to get evaluated is nothing compared to hospitalization and months/years of rehab, plus the possibility of permanent disability, that comes from missing potential advance warning of a more serious one.

I know you already went, and that was the right choice, just want to reiterate if it ever happens again.

Thanks @Gonz. You are exactly right. If I have future problems, I will get it seen to straight away. Thanks for your advice.
